  1. Almost a full version of the "Crunge". http://youtu.be/JmX3TagdbHI
  2. Just asking. Are you saying that the David McDavid that sells cars in the D/FW Metroplex went to and saw Led Zeppelin at the Houston Summit in 1977?
  3. I found this while listening to a Page/Plant live bootleg. I think this is pretty awesome: http://youtu.be/-NTgSpxkHpI
  4. Tony Iommi remembers John Bonham as good friend: http://youtu.be/YFq9pKIFQMs
  5. Yes, there is a reference to Led Zeppelin in this movie (actually a reference to Jimmy Page's penis). It is a scene in which the Banger Sisters (Goldie Hawn and Susan Sarandon) were getting high in the basement and looking through a box full of Polaroid pictures of Rock Stars penises. They would look at the picture and try and remember which Rock Star penis it was. They looked at one picture, say something (can't remember exactly what), and then turn the picture over (the name of the person was on the back) and both of them say "Jimmy Page". Actually pretty funny.
  6. Cool. Again, Thanks. I will have to find and listen to "Some Things Just Stick in Your Mind" and the alternate version of "Heart of Stone".
  7. Thanks for your quick reply. Like I said, the solos have a very distinct Jimmy Page sound. I guess Mick Taylor is/was a fan of Jimmy Page even way back then. I had just recently "re-discovered" "I Don't Know Why" when I began listening to the Rolling Stones box set titled, the "London Years" (which I have had for at least 20 years, it seems). Great stuff by the Stones. I know that John Paul Jones does the "arrangement" on "She's a Rainbow". Other standouts on this collection includes, "2000 Light Year's from Home", "Jiving Sister Fanny" and the great (and probably little heard of) "Memo from Turner". http://youtu.be/U6o2ZpHZWos http://youtu.be/G0fcqfgJJeE http://youtu.be/tAPgDs30eq8 So, one last question, are you saying that Jimmy played bass on an alternate version of "Heart of Stone"? Is this the only song that Jimmy played on that would eventually be released as the Rolling Stones Metamorphosis? Thanks!
  8. I guess this could be considered a "mystery". On the Rolling Stones album, Metamorphosis, released in 1975 (however, a compilation of songs recorded between 1964 and 1970), is that Jimmy Page who plays the guitar on the (great) song, "I Don't Know Why"? I know that Jimmy is credited as playing on this album. If true, then it was when Jimmy was still a session musician. Hence the 1969-1970 timeframe. Listen to the two solos beginning at around 1:04-1:25 and at the 2:05-2:27 mark. I could be wrong, however, these two brief solos have a very distinctive Jimmy Page sound. http://youtu.be/ydHupXGnzPU
  9. This video has probably already been posted in this topic, maybe not. If not, here it is. A very personal and Powerful performance of Jimmy Page at the New York City A.R.M.S. benefit concert. http://youtu.be/u_eDOYk-tFA
  10. This picture of Robert Plant and Michael Douglas is very intriguing to me. I belive it is taken from some Nobel Peace Prize ceremony in Oslo, Norway or Helsinki, Finland. Whether I am right or wrong, I don't care. What captivates me is a very interesting picture of two of my favorite persons engaged in what seems like a very meaningful conversation. Anyone have any better knowledge of the origins of this photograph?
  11. I believe this is it. The pure "Swan Song" without the vocals. http://youtu.be/oW-6-DsnKco
  12. I am not really posting to answer your question, but I am going to say two. Mick Bonham and his nephew, Jason. I know that there is a Deborah Bonham, however, I don't think she ever played with the other 3 members of Led Zeppelin. I was really responding this: I have seen this little snippet before. Is there really proof that this is the Baroness von Zeppelin? If this is really her and she is mad and upset, Robert seems to be taking it in stride and even smiling at the camera after she bangs His hair.
  13. I used to live in suburban Saint Louis (Maryland Heights) and K-SHE 95 was the radio station that I listened to all the time when I was a teenager. I remember hearing the Firm on K-SHE 95. They played "Radioactive" and "Satisfaction Guaranteed" quite a bit. I saw the Firm play at the "Checkerdome" in St. Louis way back in 1986. I am not saying you are wrong and I have no clue as to your age, but I was living in St. Louis when the Firm came in 1986. I will never forget that concert because it was the first time I had ever seen Jimmy Page play live and I was just 15 years old at the time.
  14. I am posting this for any non-believers of the Power of Ronnie James DIO and his Voice and His band members. This is Pure Heavy Metal and proof that RJD is One of the Greatest Singers of All-Time!!!
  15. This is pretty cool: http://youtu.be/bvmgrLSboWk
  16. It still breaks My heart that Ronnie James DIO is no longer with US. I know that there are other threads related to Ronnie, however, I wanted to start a new one because He deserves all that His loyal fans can and do really appreciate. From what I have seen, read and heard, RJD really Loved and Appreciated His fans from all over the World. I had the privelage to see him twice and even got to shake His hand when He came offstage to greet all His fans. After Robert Plant, Ronnie James DIO is my favorite Singer. LONG LIVE RONNIE JAMES DIO!!! http://youtu.be/bkysjcs5vFU http://youtu.be/1jX5vJgXoDo http://youtu.be/wxxOPvLg7o0

  18. Back on topic. If it is still my turn to ask another question, this is it and I think it a pretty easy one for anyone who knows Jimmy Page's history: What illness forced Jimmy Page to leave Neil Christian and the Crusaders when Jimmy was still a teenager?
  19. I found this. Doesn't mean it is true, however, it does seem to come from from a legitimate newspaper. "Rap Up" King Features Syndicate "Plant Throws Away His Crutches" Oakland, CA Tribune 2-22-1976 Led Zeppelin's lead-singer Robert Plant made the most out of his last days in the States. Before flying home to England, he saw Deep Purple in New York, caught two LA shows by a teen-age girl rock group called the Runaways, and spent a night bantering with Richard Pryor at a Hollywood club. One of his final stops was Berkeley, where he caught the Pretty Things, the British band that Plant "and fellow Zepper Jimmy Page brought to their label, Swan Song Records, a year ago. Making the most out of this last chance to talk to Plant about his health (he was still walking with the help of a leg brace), his convalescence in Malibu, Led Zep's new album, "Presence" (which will ship platinum in March), and the group's plans, we approached him in the Pretty Things' dressing room. He happily agreed to a quick interview, the first he's given since breaking his ankle and elbow in that auto accident last August. Q-How are you feeling? A-Well, doctor, everything's improving better than expected. I've slowly put more weight on my foot until New Year's Eve, when I just threw down my crutch and walked without it for the first time. Q-Why did you choose to rest up in L.A.? You said a year ago you had become bored with the city. A-I felt a lot of negativity had set in... the presence of a lot of people doing a lot of dope. Bit by bit I saw the shine on the surface fade away. But when we stayed in Malibu, my trip was to develop a state of mind whereby I could combat the physical problems. Malibu is good for that. Q-You and the rest of the group must have found Malibu a good place to work in too, having written the new album there. A-My only alternative was to turn around and stand against the storm and make an album. All the energy that had been smoldering inside us, getting ready for a lot of gigs, came out in the writing and later in the studio (in Munich). So what we have is an album that is so Zeppelin. In this time of trouble, it all came together like a dream, and the music bursts off the vinyl. It sounds like the Hammer of the Gods. Q-Is there a deference to the trial you've been through? A-It's apparent, but it's shrouded. I was without my old lady (who fractured her pelvis in the accident and had to remain in England), and the realization that I could not get back to her immediately led to one song, "Tea for One." Q-It'll be "Tea for Two" shortly, though. A-In four days I should be treading on the Island of the Blessed. For the first three months I'm not going to get out of bed! Q-A Led Zeppelin tour has been ruled out until next year. So what are your plans? A-We can't think now towards the future as easily as we could in six months time. All we want to do is see the people that we love. And I want to take it easy with this foot. No soccer until August.
  20. For all You Led Zeppelin fans world-wide, I give you this: http://youtu.be/4cZ1du-WC98
  21. I believe that the next question comes from you to us.
  22. Yes. I read that in Keith Shadwick's book A Story of a band and Their Music 1968-1980. I am trying to locate the exact sentence from the book but I am having a little trouble finding it. I am pretty sure it was from this book that I read this. I do have over 25 books on Led Zeppelin so I could have read it in another one of my books.
  23. "Friends". What famous comedian did Robert Plant 'allegedly" hang out with during Led Zeppelin's famous shows in Los Angeles in 1977? Of course I was not there but I have read this and really hope that this is true. I will make it easier. In my opinion, the greatest comedian of all-time. His Comedy is equal to Led Zeppelin's Music. Beyond Brilliant.

  25. Thanks for posting those two reviews. I have probably been to over 100 concerts at St. Louis' (actually in Maryland Heights, MO) Riverport Amphitheater during the 1990's standing on the lawn. This company I worked for always got about 10 free tickets to most of the concerts at Riverport. I was friends with the lady who got them in the mail and she would always let me have two lawn tickets if I wanted them. Anyway, out of all those concerts I saw there, I do not seem to really recall it ever raining. Me and my friends go to Chicago to see Jimmy Page and the Black Crowes and, as I recalled earlier and the reviews above mentioned, it rained so hard that I took shelter under the pavilion with just one of my friends. The other two did not want to try and sneek in as they thought we would get busted but it was easy to slip past the security. Anyway, I remember it was still cold and wet under the roof but I did enjoy the show more than I would have standing on the lawn under a torrential downpour. Like the review said, "Upon Us All, a Little Rain Must Fall". However, in this case it was alot of rain.
