  1. I was at that 1989 Coliseum show, 2nd night. They almost didn't go on after nearly breaking up the night before, Axl stormed off the stage after singing Mr. Brownstone. They played a really good set on the 2nd night though, Eric Clapton came on later during the Stones set; what a concert!
  2. Glad to here Sorum won't be on drums, never cared for his playing on Guns stuff. Bummed out that Izzy won't be involved, not surprised though; he and Slash were so good together.
  3. FWIW,I know someone in promotion that's involved in the huge American Rocks festival this June in Rhode Island; he said they are talking with GN'R management in hopes of booking them, and in his opinion based on what he's heard they're reuniting.
  4. 12th row on the floor, left of center at the Forum in Los Angeles; so stoked!
  5. An amazing reality! I'm thinking of relocating their actually, tired of L.A. Anybody know of any pre-sale info, codes?
  6. They're heading off to the studio to record in a couple of weeks. They played a small acoustic set in their hometown of Long Beach last night, brilliant!
  7. I know, I'm more excited to see the Sons then Sabbath actually; saw them play an all acoustic set last night in their hometown of Long Beach. Brilliant show......
  8. Agree with all of this, Ozzy handpicked this band to open for Sabbath's 2016 tour; high praise indeed. I think they're the best band in the world right now, not even close actually. With them going into the studio to record a new album prior to touring with Deep Purple in Europe and then later with Sabbath, it's just a matter of time before they break huge in America. It's already happening in Europe, big festival dates along with bigger venues when they are the headline act. The Sabbath tour with it's American leg should be really good for the band commercially, most of their shows/tours have been in Europe. America, get ready to experience Rock N' Roll the way it was meant to be played! Seeing them tonight headlining a small acoustic festival in their home town of Long Beach Ca., can't freaking wait to attend this rare show: https://www.facebook.com/SummerAndMusic https://realrockandroll.wordpress.com/2015/09/03/rival-sons-announce-tour-dates-with-black-sabbath-in-north-america-australia-new-zealand/
  9. The best kept secret in the world right now, not for long though.
  10. I saw them live 3 times, twice in Los Angeles and once in Vegas; simply STUNNING to hear that music in a live setting. The album is nice, but the music takes on a ife of it's own when heard live. Try and get ahold of some boots, toward the end of their tour they were really stretching out songs like Scumbag, Daffodils and Warsaw. I do think they'll surface again, the music was just too good and they were getting off playing it; that was very apparent when seeing them live. I think Homme almost died after going thru some type of procedure delaying the release of Queens' album which they currently are touring on. At the time Grohl said it was the best band he's ever been in and Jones said he'd been in the best band in the world for a 2nd time, I'm in agreement with both statements. Grohl's last public statement on a possible reunion of the Vultures: http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/general_music_news/dave_grohl_promises_them_crooked_vultures_return.html
  11. Why wasn't the alternate version of That's The Way used on the original album? It's glorious, the effects they used on Robert's vocal work so well, stunning in every way.
  12. A dee jay from 95.5 KLOS mentioned tonight that after the Heartbreaker tour is concluded, Jason will go out on tour by himself and perform along side a hologram version of his dad; this can't be true right?
  13. I think I remember JPJ goofing on this song in an interview years ago and saying it wasn't one of their better songs; I wholeheartedly agree.
  14. I was at this show, first time I'd ever seen the Stones or G n'R live, and Clapton was the icing on the cake. I remember hearing on KLOS 95.5 that G n'R was going to break up after the "Brownstone" incident the night before. Instead they came out and rocked the Colisseum, great show!
  15. Jimmy's just going thru the motions on it, it's all John Paul & Robert; their weakest effort easily.
  16. I was at the Greek on 10/18 and it was fabulous, easily one of the best concerts I've seen. With multiple guitars, the songs took on a studio feel and were so rich and full; to hear Your Time Is Going To Come live and done so well was a definite highlight.
  17. What a great tribute to the band, very moving. It definitely was edited in spots, too much for my taste, but I guess that's American TV for you. Black Dog by the Foo's was really short, not enough of Grohl on drums. Kid Rock had his own take on "Ramble" which worked really well I thought and was also edited it seemed. Lenny Kravitz rocked on WLL, but again it was too short. STH performed by Heart with Jason on drums and backed by a full orchestra and choir was very cool; the boys were clearly moved by it, with Robert tearing up and possibly Jimmy as well.
  18. Neil Diamond at the Greek, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Nah, it wasn't that bad....."Hello, hello again".......
  19. Was fortunate enough to have seen this band 3 times, twice in L.A., and once in Vegas. So good live, the record is good but doesn't do the band justice IMO; they have to be seen live in order to fully appreciate their sound. Grohl is an amazing drummer and belongs their solely IMO, Foo's are nice and Grohl is adequate as a singer, but he's brilliant behind a kit. The way JPJ and Grohl were locked in live was something I will never forget and hope to see once again soon. It's unfortunate that the Queens album is lagging at the moment, stars just don't seemed to be aligned for a Vultures reunion at this time.
  20. His new Black Beauty that he played on For Your Life sounded AMAZING, my favorite track of the whole night. They absolutely nailed that song, vocal was stunning by Robert.
