  1. Good point and I've learned over the years to never expect anything. Ever since Jimmy Page talked up a double album in 1978 dealing with the 4 seasons, chock full of incredible guitar synth work and we got In Through The Out Door, I've learned to take what he says with a grain of salt.. Don't get me wrong, I don't think he's making this stuff up. It just doesn't quite pan out for whatever reason.
  2. +1 All 4 were and are all brilliant Musicians. They are my favorite rock band of all time. But they're mortal human beings..... just like you and me. Not Gods
  3. Just watching this over on Blabbermouth.net ... Pretty cool interview with Brad Whitford walking through his gear.

  7. I agree ... still popular and still relevant aren't always the same thing... I haven't heard a new Stones song that I like in years ... or a new Clapton song that I've liked in 25 years.. But why doesn't Page do something? ... Jimmy Page is pushing 70, has more money than he could spend in 5 lifetimes and has created / produced some of the most important and influential rock music ever... He doesn't need to do anything.... Neither do The Stones or Eric Clapton for that matter. I just don't like when Page talks up these amazing projects and they don't quite happen.. I'd rather he not say what he's working on .. than "bam" hit us between the eyes with it.

  15. Thanks Ady!!! THAT WAS GREAT!!! I'm still at work crunching numbers and I listened to the whole show in the background. Geezer Butler sounds incredible..
  16. My older brother has always hated them too.... all because of Bungle in The Jungle.. Some Tull I love .. like Songs From The Wood and Minstrel In The Gallery... some not as much..
  17. Dude... Next time you watch the Jethro Tull section, check out the Lefty Guitarist playing the white Spray-painted Stratocaster... That's right ... It's Tony Iommi's 1st and only public appearance with Jethro... miming Song for Jeffery Edit.... Sorry strider ... didn't see you already pointed this out...
  18. Jackie Fox is now a Lawyer. She threatened to sue if her name or likeness was used in the film.. Lita Ford also wanted nothing to do with it... and seemed pretty pissed after the fact that she was a minor character. Sandy West should have had more attention in the movie. She was my favorite in the band. But, even with her role being small, you could tell she was loyal and protective of her bandmates. Edgeplay was excellent. Good reading Strider... I would have loved to have seen Led Zeppelin 5 times in 1977. Almost Impossible living near Boston.
  19. Thanks Cletus... I had no idea this was going on.. I found this statement from Benoit David online about his departure. Dear YES fans, As you all know, the final three shows of last year's European tour were cancelled due to my ill health. On my return to Canada, I was advised to cease touring, for the foreseeable future, in order to avoid further damage to my voice. Following this extremely disappointing diagnosis, I had no alternative but to inform my fellow band members that I was unable to confirm my availability for, at least, the forthcoming concerts in New Zealand, Australia and Japan. Although there was no alternative, I did so with a heavy heart as I felt that I was letting everyone down especially those who have supported me since I had the privilege of becoming the band's vocalist in 2008. The band members were all very understanding and asked if I would mind being replaced for the April shows - I immediately agreed that this would be the best way forward and gave them my blessing. I was then pleased to learn that Jon Davison would be my replacement as he is an accomplished musician with a fine voice. I subsequently learnt, from a band member's interview, that I had officially left Yes and that my departure was permanent. As this is the situation, everyone should know that I will be eternally grateful for the opportunity I was given and very proud to have contributed to more than 200 concerts and to the 'Fly From Here' and 'In The Present Live From Lyon' albums. I would also like to express my appreciation for the support I was given by each member of the band, the fantastic crew, the management and everyone else involved during my time as vocalist in the band. Finally, to the fans who have applauded my efforts and to those I have had the pleasure of meeting - many thanks, my best wishes and please continue with your support of one of the world's greatest bands - YES. Although I need to take it easy for a while, I fully intend to continue with my music career. In late summer of 2011, I added vocals to Mystery's forthcoming album 'The World Is A Game' - which is at the final stages of mixing and will be available in the near future. This is my third collaboration with Michel St-Pere, and Mystery, following 2007's 'Beneath The Veil Of Winter's Face' and 2010's 'One Among The Living'. So I guess I will, hopefully, see you somewhere down the road... Blessings, Benoit David
  20. The greatest hard rock album of all time was released 37 years ago today... February 24th 1975. Also the greatest double album of all time... It is also the same day and year my wonderful Grandmother passed away.
  21. BLACK SABBATH: 'We Have No Choice But To Continue Recording Without BILL WARD' - Feb. 3, 2012 BLACK SABBATH members Tony Iommi, Ozzy Osbourne and Geeer Butler have vowed to continue recording their new album without Bill Ward after the drummer announced that he will not be able to participate in the recording of the reunited band's new album or perform with them on tour unless he is presented with what he described as a "fair agreement" and a "signable contract" that financially reflects his contributions to SABBATH's history and his standing as a founding member of the band. Ward issued a statement in which he said in part, "At this time, I would love nothing more than to be able to proceed with the BLACK SABBATH album and tour. However, I am unable to continue unless a 'signable' contract is drawn up; a contract that reflects some dignity and respect toward me as an original member of the band." Ward added that he worked last year in "good faith" with fellow original members Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler, including rehearsals and a November press conference in Los Angeles. But then, he wrote, "Several days ago, after nearly a year of trying to negotiate, another 'unsignable' contract was handed to me." The drummer, who played on 10 of SABBATH's first 11 studio albums, emphasized, "Although this has put me in some kind of holding pattern, I am packed and ready to leave the U.S. for England. More importantly, I definitely want to play on the album, and I definitely want to tour with BLACK SABBATH." The recording sessions for the original band's first new album in 33 years were recently moved to London so that Iommi, who is undergoing treatment for cancer, could be close to his doctors. Ward wrote that he's "spent every day" getting ready to head to England, but added, "My guess is . . . I will know nothing of what's happening unless I sign 'the unsignable contract.'" He also wrote, "The place I'm in feels lousy and lonely because as much as I want to play and participate, I also have to stand for something and not sign on. If I sign 'as is,' I stand to lose my rights, dignity and respectability as a rock musician." Ward addressed the possibility of his being replaced, saying, "I hope you will not hold me responsible for the failure of an original BLACK SABBATH lineup as promoted . . . It would be a sad day in rock if this current situation fell to the desires of a few." In response, Iommi, Osbourne and Butler have issued the following statement: "We were saddened to hear yesterday via Facebook that Bill declined publicly to participate in our current BLACK SABBATH plans... We have no choice but to continue recording without him although our door is always open... We are still in the U.K. with Tony. Writing and recording the new album and on a roll... See you at Download!!!" SABBATH is scheduled to release its new album later this year and is confirmed to play the U.K.'s Download festival in June. All other tour plans, however, are up in the air pending Iommi's ability to overcome his illness.
  22. Unreal... Good for Bill... Let's screw the Drummer. He's an original member of Black Sabbath and it sounds like they want to treat him like a hired hand... I may be wrong but This reeks of Sharon Osbourne...There's more than enough $$$ to go around. I want to hear what the others, namely Tony and Geezer have to say. Bill Ward deserves a fair deal ..... period.
