  1. It's a great rendition, for sure. One of only two full versions...
  2. Skip to 9:05 in that one for the first comment. Those three are the Noise Solo. That one is Achilles, enjoy! I'd give the whole show a listen if you have the time (about 3 hr 42 min)
  3. Other than Bonzo's erratic drumming in Achilles, that is. Some of it is really cool and some of it makes you say "wtf was he thinking?". Love how Robert says "Was that Keith Bonham on the drums there?" afterwards.
  4. June 27, 1977 (two days late, I know). It's a pretty great show IMO. It seems like the occasional rough spots are the result of fatigue more than anything; they're definitely trying to make the last night in L.A. a good one! I always get a chuckle out of Robert saying "Oh dear" just as Jimmy is starting the Noise Solo, it's like he knew it was going to be a long one.
  5. June 19, 1972 Seattle is pretty great too, was probably close to a half hour in length (27 minutes with a sizeable cut on the recording we have now). Like the rest of the show, if you can stomach the mediocre/poor recording it's well worth it.
  6. Listening to 6/10/77 N.Y. today, really enjoying it! Haven't listened to it since I got it back in July because of the sound quality, which isn't nearly as bad as I remembered it being. I will definitely listen to it more often now. Heartbreaker in particular is fantastic; closed my eyes and almost thought it was from '73!
  7. Indeed, one of my favourites. It's a shame there's a cut near the climax of the instrumental section. Best JPJ/Bonzo piano/drum section imo. I believe it's Jimmy's longest NQ solo as well, even with the cut.
  8. You're in for a treat! One of my all-time favourite shows...Strider you lucky duck
  9. All of the ones mentioned are great, I really dig the one from 3/7/70 Montreux too...can I get an amen, Strider?
  10. I'm with you on Jimmy's guitar tone--I'll take a Deluxe Les Paul over a Danelectro any day lol
  11. Oh ok, gotcha. Greensboro and 06/08 would be great-if they happen to have boards for all of NY & LA, I hope they would release the 21st, 23rd, 25th & 27th last since we already have Millard tapes for them. On the topic of sbds and unreleased shows, what are the odds of EV having boards for Houston, New Orleans, Knoxville, and Fort Worth '75? Starting with 2/12 up until 3/21 there's been a board released for almost every show during that span (12 of 14 by my count, 3/10 & 3/12 being the boardless ones) aside from those missing four.
  12. Seriously!? Why is that/how do you know? And not Pontiac?
  13. Oh good, I'm not alone. If only we had sbds of those two instead of say the 26th & 28th in Landover lol
  14. It could be just me, but I think Pontiac deserves to be in the conversation with the second night in Cleveland for "best show of the first leg".
  15. I too am surprised by the number of mentions Seattle '77 is getting. I could certainly see 3/21/75 Seattle being viewed as a latter days peak, but I'm not so sure about 7/17/77... That being said, like others have mentioned, this is a fairly subjective topic, so if Seattle '77 is what does it for you then enjoy it, and don't let our criticisms of it ruin the experience for you!
  16. That's really awful I hope you're able to get most of it back somehow. Did you have a good trip at least?
  17. Wow Strider, I'm really sorry to hear about your computer, that's terrible, especially to lose all of your Zeppelin diaries. I'm delighted to hear that you'll complete your recollections, and I'm sure I speak for just about everyone here at the Forum when I say that if I trust anyone's memory, it's yours. Enjoy your trip down memory lane, we wait with baited breath to read about it
  18. After reading that gentleman's review of the Dallas show, I really want a recording of that show to surface! I imagine their energy that night, just over two years since they last played in the States... Also I was very excited to see Black Dog as the first encore-wish it was played more often in '77... Lastly, I've been left at the cliff-hanger of your account of the L.A. '77 shows! Did you finish it in a different thread?
