  1. oops .... mistake, wrong post Still sunny and warm here though
  2. Better than doing a naked run ...........
  3. aawwww .... come on now. Perk up, you have a football match in style to attend tonight, albiet probably in the cold and rain ...... Have a great night Puffmeister.
  4. I'd love it .... and so would you both. Sun, warmth, beaches, watch the whales playing from my front balcony, fresh vegie garden ..... and I love good food and a glass or two or so of wine. Perfect match
  5. And what pray tell is a "crafty bifta"? or do I really want to know? .... hahaha That really sucks about Mrs Puffer. I hope all goes well and she gets through the stressful times ahead. You two seem to have a beautiful and enviable relationship and love together, so i'm sure whatever happens, you'll ride it through together. If worse comes to worst, you can both always pop down under and do some Aussie peach picking again. Not far from me is Araluan peaches and they hire pickers every season. You can come stay with me for a while and then go face the summer heat and huntsman spiders out there
  6. Same here. It's windy now and the rain has been falling consistantly for 2 days, but no major flooding down in my area. The surf is massive too .... it must be averaging around 4 metres. Unfortunately, my son is up in Lismore and was supposed to be driving down here today, but the Pacific Highway and many other major and minor roads are flooded and closed. There is now no road links between Brisbane and Sydney. Plus I just heard that Grafton people are evacuating because of the rising river. My thoughts and well wishes are with those people whose houses and property are threatened, or are already under water. On a funny note, my dog refuses to go out in the rain to do his 'stuff'. I'll have to force the issue soon and push him out, or else he will explode ..... hahaha
  7. Lets get back to some tennis talk. I didn't read all the quoted first post, but that was because i'd watched a lot of the tournament and had also watched the whole mens final match, so I was already aware of those facts. I'd preferrred it to have been a Federer/Djokovic final, mainly because I don't like Andy Murray. He is obviously a very good tennis player who seems to be hitting his peak in the last year, but he presents as a staid, boring type of person and to me thats a turn off when it comes to watching a person play. A player with a bit of character, who shows some genuine emotion and someone who is likeable, is a lot more entertaining to watch and cheer on, rather than a grumpy, sour, miserable player. Djokovic on the other hand, is not only the world number one, but he is entertaining to watch. He shows emotion, he jokes around at times, he's humble and seems to be a true gentleman .... not to mention has a killer first serve, an incredible passing shot, slugs it out from the baseline and is no slouch at the net either. To Andy Murray's credit, he played a great match and didn't place any blame on the injuries which troubled him through the match. There was no celebrations for Djokivic, as early this morning he was on the plane to fulfil his Serbian Davis Cup duties in Belguim. Interestingly, as he boarded the plane, at the same time last year, Djokovic was still playing an epic 5 hours and 53 minutes final against Nadal. It's a shame Nadal had to withdraw from the Australian Open, along with other tournaments, due to injury and illness .... his presence was missed.
  8. The rains and floods should be pelting your area soon Slave. Hope all goes well.
  9. Crazy Aussie weather! First we had extreme high temperatures and now, a week later, we're into the torrential rain and floods.
  10. I'll be in here whinging about how cold it is here by then.
  11. I'm on the far south coast of NSW, but i'm sure there are sharks lurking, there always are. More chance of being struck by lightening though. Your summer is not too far off. Enjoy your time in Cornwall. Have a pasty for me
  12. It was warm today, but just a typical summers day. Nothing outrageous, thank goodness. I walked down to the beach with my dog for a swim late this afternoon and it was still quite hot. The water was lovely though. Nothing to be unhappy about there
  13. Whats wrong with saying "carts"? Very appropriate name when something sneaks in and eat my tomatoes
  14. Well my language was a bit more colourful than that, but you get my general pattern of thought. I'll give you a clue ...... "You F***ing ..... Mong**l .... Bast**d ........ C**ts" :D I'm such a refined lady .... hahaha
  15. A mongrel bird got into my vegie garden and feasted on the tomatoes. Of course it didn't just eat a few whole toms, it had a little munch on one, then went onto another and another and another .... aarrgghhhhhhh Time to bring out the bird nets.
  16. Home made Devonshire pasty (no swede) for dinner last night and about to have some toast and expresso coffee for brekky.

  19. Teenage daughters are mentally, hormonally, deranged in every way. Try not to take it to heart, they do grow out of it .... eventually.
  20. Dippy ducky egg for breakfast (thanks for my addiction Puffer) and green papaya salad with prawns in XO sauce for dinner.
  21. Southerly just hit here (5 hours south of Sydney) and it's a strong one. Hang in there guys, it's on it's way.
  22. OMG!! ^^^^ Imagine how hot it would be in those sardine packed mosh areas in front of the stage. I'm on the South Coast, so I'll let you Sydneyites know when the Southerly passes through here.
  23. I just saw that weather news. Sydney breaks temperature record Friday January 18, 2013 - 15:06 EDT Sydney reached 45.7 degrees at 2:54pm today, breaking the previous record of 45.3 set in 1939. Many locations have already broken long-standing records including Camden which hit 46.1 degrees, the hottest day in more than 40 years worth of records. Richmond also hit 46 degrees making it the hottest day since records commenced 18 years ago. http://www.weatherzo...ss-sydney/23287
