  1. Another pic of Jimmy Sakurai in the jacket. There's many other photo's on his MrJimmy page. http://www.mrjimmy.jp/photos.htm
  2. Some photo's of Jimmy Sakurai performing with Led Zepagain and meeting Jimmy Page. He's wearing a copy of the red poppy, black jacket. So hopefully, as SteveAJones suggested, he should be able to help you. http://zepagain.com/gallery.php Good luck with it all. Let us know how you go.
  3. The current Led Zepagain FB page doesn't have any of the older pics of Steve Zukowsky, who is Steve Z (oso). He is a member of this forum, but I haven't seen him post here for quite some time, however he is active at RO. Steve's current band is Zeppelin USA, known as "ZUSA". https://www.facebook.com/zusarocks And seeing as i'm talking about poppy suits and Steve Z (oso) I'm going to indulge myself with a favourite LZ song, performed by Steve on his last night with Led Zepagain on Aug 12, 2012. and a shameless promotional edit for the new band Zusa (sorry for the hijack .... not really )
  4. I also thought I remembered Steve Z(oso) when he was with Led Zepagain wearing this jacket, but checking the RO pages and Steve's FB page, I think I was mistaken and it was the dragon suit. Of course the new Led Zepagain FB page has deleted all previous record's of Steve's pics ........... Steve is in a better place now a days anyway, so stuff em!
  5. The poppy is baffling. In the black and white enlargement it really looks embroidered, but in the colour pics, especially the larger ones, it almost looks plastic .... which would account for the light reflecting off it, making it appear to have beading. But no matter what it is created from, it had to be added afterwards, because the material isn't strong enough to handle that sort of heavy hand or machine stitching. As for what the jacket material is .... It's not velvet, because it doesn't have that sort of texture. One of the b/w pics in the other thread has it looking like an almost crinkly fabric, but that just could be because it was scrunched up and not folded or hung .... tsk tsk. I tend to think it's probably just a basic polyester, synthetic type blend. It also looks like it has button hole loops for fastners, but only on part of the mid section.
  6. The photo below was posted by Glyn in the other thread he provided the link to, but I reposted it here for ease of my description. As far as sewing and embroidering a copy of this jacket, I can tell you that the red poppy is not embroiderded. It is a separate embellishment that has been either edge stitched on or glued. I can tell this by it's raised qualities and the slight dark shadow surrounding the poppies. The leaves surrounding maybe the same, but more likely lots of heavy embroidery. On the sleeve, the gold colour poppies are probably also a separate embellishment attached and then over-edged (sewn) on. There are also obvious fake red gemstones glued onto the centre of the gold poppies and up and down the sleeve. The rest of the gold colour leaf and stem on the sleeve is straight forward decorative embroidery.
  7. I can forgive many things, however, drinking anything but icy cold beer is sacriligeous. Pukeworthy
  8. Stop being such a sour faced Pom! ............ ............. This is supposed to be the Happy Thread
  9. SHE is the reason we are losing the Ashes! Her being in London has motivated your cricket team into a deeper hatred and therefore need to annihilate us Aussie's. I think I even hate us after listening to her
  10. Oh yeah! ooops! We are part of the British Commonwealth too, so he is also our new heir.
  11. The sad thing is, no one wants to talk about or make a new thread about good news. They'd rather bash their heads against a wall and each other, fighting and arguing about depressing and tragic news events. At this stage, there is no name announcement.
  12. No one else has commented on the royal birth yet, so I will. Congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the birth of their son and to all you Brits on your new heir
  13. hhmmmm ...... 3 for 48, with a target of 583. Yup, thats doable. Hopefully they won't hit any of those flying pigs out of the sky.
  14. What a terrible day of cricket At least we've got Man U here to entertain and cheer us up
  15. Excuse me, I didn't mean to say "the harpooning slaughter of whales", I meant the scientific research purposes for harpooning whales
  16. I've been out in a boat whale watching a few times, but i'm lucky enough to see the return migration of the mother whales and their calves as they pass by. I can look out my windows, sit on my front balcony, or walk a few minutes down to the beaches and see them at play, or resting in one of the bays. Watching these gentle giants is an absolute awe inspiring privilege. Once you have seen these magnificent, majestic creatures in the water, you will detest with a vengence, everything about the harpooning slaughter of whales.
  17. I just saw my first mother and baby calf Southern Right Whale heading back down south for the season, after calving in the warmer waters. These incredible giants of the water are truly one of the most spectacular and awesome sights, especially seeing both the mother and calves playing, breaching and flipper flapping at such a close distance. I am so fortunate to be able to witness this spectacle for 2 months each year. This mum and calf are having a rest. The photo below is not mine, but this is what i'm lucky enough to see. 2 calves playing and breaching.
  18. Kev goes off :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: At least he sounds like one of us
  19. I can't stand his sly deceiptful face, but I also can't stand hearing Julia's bogan voice .... and then both her and Kev are proven liar's. Tough choice!
  20. I'm not promotoing or agreeing with whats depicted in this image, but I did laugh at the Steven Bradbury inspired animation.
  21. hahahahaha Kev looks better in a dress than he does in boxing shorts. Nice necklace too. and Ross, did you dare to post a pic of our (ex) prime minister topless?
  22. Mine is under control now, thanks to the medication i'm on. It's taken a while to get to this place though. I now walk my dog everyday and am quite active in other ways, but i'm still restricted in certain activities. It is frustrating, because I have always been so active and on the go, but I stubbornly refuse to give into it ...... unless i've done something stupid and have actually hurt my back (like digging up the garden .... ooops) I always found heat packs and the electric blanket a wonderful relief though, even now if i'm particularly achey. Jules, seriously ...... ask your doctor for a course of Prednisone, or at the very least talk to him about it. If he won't consider it, go to another one and ask his advise. Don't make me phone you up and yell at you! ..................... Love that smacking over the head smiley ... hahaha
  23. I was talking more about back injury and the subsequent pain that shoots off from the injured discs over the hips and down the legs (kind of like sciatic nerve area). In my case, I couldn't even stand mild hydro therapy, light massage or heat treatment and it wasn't from lack of motivation, because I tried everything to get rid of the pain. I had cortisoid shots in both my hip joints and also directly into my L4/L5 discs, which didn't help at all and then finally a discogram, which is the equivalent of legal torture (solely designed to inflict pain) The aches in my muscles, from my hips down to my feet was the same whether I was laying in bed, sitting or walking and the more movement or exercise I did, the worse it became .... and that wasn't even the actual injury, but the nerves and muscles that led off from it.
  24. Strider, after seeing some of the food you ate on your trip, I think it's far too late for you .......... hahahahaha
  25. For making me roll my eyes, shake my head, swear and laugh, at the ludicrous political shit fight happening here at the moment   edit typo/spelling
