I love Jimmy from the 70's, 80's and so on but I must admit that I have a special thing for silver fox Jimmy
I think you'll be right at home here, Anxss.

^ Have a wonderful time, you'll have to tell us all about it!
Found out today that I get to move into a beautiful new apartment over the summer. Also, I'm extremely happy that it's one day closer to Friday.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
You know, I really wasn't feeling St. Patrick's Day until I cracked open a cold Guinness and saw this.

Just finished Memory & Dream, by Charles de Lint. Really interesting novel dealing with the aesthetic powers of art (in both real life and fantasy).
Up next: Suzy, Led Zeppelin, and Me.

Thanks for sharing, PlanetPage! I've always loved that scarf, and the Elvis ribbon and sweet face serve as perfect compliments.
Pagettes, that plaid shirt is totally new, thank you AEN, love the photos you post, love your dedication in this regard...
Here here - thanks, aen!
To quote April, I believe that "PHWOAR" would be a most appropriate reaction to this picture.

Why, thank you for the good thoughts L&S. I'm happy to hear that you are up ,walking around and recovering nicely. Hopefully , I'll be on my feet as quickly as you . Now, nobody said we actually we had to be in need of wheelchairs to have a race. I'm sure I can get a hold of two. Give me a few weeks, we'll meet half way and race for beers . Thanks again !
You're on!
light and shade - yes, wrist is healing well, and employers are being pretty good. i have to see a surgeon to decide if it needs an operation.
Great to hear about your employers, and good luck with the surgeon.
Congratulations on the new job, planted! Wonderful to read about your passion and enthusiasm.

Hope it all goes well for you. I'll be joining you in 3wks time so maybe we can have a wheelchair race or two
Was going to post here and say that I'm happy to be home recovering/walking around... but damn, wheelchair racing sounds fun! I think we still should.
Seriously though, ally, sending good thoughts your way. I can't imagine being in that kind of pain, with the added stress of cancelled operations. Wishing you the safest and most comfortable of recoveries.
lightandshade, i hope all goes well for you
Thanks, slave to zep. Hope that your wrist is feeling better, and that your employer is being nicer to you!
Thanks also to Scarlet, Cecil and Fool in the Rain for the good wishes.
Congratulations, Walter, and happy belated birthday, april_lynn!

Cheers to all of the recent great news.
Just found out that I need to check in for emergency spinal surgery tomorrow. I choose to remain positive/happy about this because:
1) It provides an answer/solution to the pain I was living with.
2) It forces me to relax and catch up on some good books/movies.

I really thought the scene with "What Is And What Should Never Be" in Silver Lining Playbook was very well done. If the scene had just been described to me I wouldn't have thought it would work, but watching it, the director used the song to build that scene in a way that after watching it, I cannot think of any other song they could have possibly used.
I can't wait to see that movie.
This one probably goes without saying...

Julian was at the Celebration Day premiere in London, he said he loved the movie.
That's really cool.
He really is one of those singers that give me a warm comforting feeling. Just a natural sounding voice and a good writer as well.
Love Julian Lennon - "Day After Day" is also my favorite song of his. Another song of his that's always intrigued me is "Cole's Song", which he co-wrote and recorded for "Mr. Holland's Opus" (one of my favorite movies). Within the context of the film, it's a song from a father, dedicated to a son who he's reconnecting with after an estrangement. Always makes me wonder how much of it was a reflection of Julian's own complex relationship with his father - knowledge only the two of them would be truly privy to, of course. Beautiful song.
A great artist, and you're right - his voice is musical comfort food! Always calms me down after a stressful day.

^ Swan Song is beautiful, but I'm partial to White Summer/Black Mountain Side - it's what introduced me to Jimmy Page/Led Zeppelin.
