  1. ^ Really fun show, enjoy it. :)

After being out of work for 2 months or so, dad got a job offer in sales yesterday. It pays twice as good as his last job. He starts on Friday. :)

    That's wonderful.

My day started with a bang, literally - tire blew out on the way to work at 5:00 this morning. Promptly called auto assistance... last time I tried to change a tire, it ended badly. :bagoverhead: While I was waiting, a kind stranger stopped by and asked if I needed anything. I said thanks and gently refused, but on the way back the same stranger dropped off a coffee.

Having auto troubles early on a bitterly cold morning? Blech. Being on the receiving end of a random act of kindness? Pretty great. :)

  2. I'm driving home from work today, rocking out to Living Loving Maid (as I'm prone to do on occasion). There may have been some intense head banging/shoulder shimmying involved. I happen to look to my left while stopped at a light... the passenger in the other car is staring at me like I have five heads. All of a sudden he smiles, starts singing along, and busts out some awesome moves of his own.

Mutual music nerdage always makes me happy. ^_^

Ah, this thread feels like home.:lol: Fantastic to see so many contributions from the old board, as well as some great new ones! :cheer: Thank you to everyone who's been contributing to this beautiful thread, I'm having fun going through its second incarnation. I'm afraid I don't have much to share that hasn't been posted before, but I'll always be here to appreciate and admire! :D

Hugs to all of my fellow Pagettes, for your impeccable taste. B)

  5. Great topic!

I sometimes have trouble articulating to other people why I enjoy LZ albums so much - it's really hard to give a distinct, clear answer. Their live performances obviously take on a whole new dynamic, but a Zeppelin studio album takes you to a unique place as a listener. I can only describe the experience as otherworldly, yet somehow simultaneously intimate. "Over the Hills and Far Away" is a great example of this - IMHO, one of the most beautifully crafted songs ever produced.

As someone who's not so well-versed in the technical aspects of music production, I can only rely on my gut instincts to tell me when something's good... and as a producer, Mr. Page has yet to let me down. B)
