Maybe he felt that for the cover image he needed something where he was looking directly into the lens, preferably straight on, and without other band members or random objects or whatever cluttering the background. Which would have to narrow it down considerably, I guess. You don't often get that in professional-quality shots, unless it's a passport photo or a police mugshot. I think it was a good choice (the pic on the back, on the other hand, is not all that special). It may not be the prettiest, but it's very...I dunno what the word is. You look into his eyes and really feel like you're getting a look into his character somehow. (What Darlas y said, basically). It reminds me of my favourite non-Zep rock pic: On another note, I never noticed it until I saw the pic blown up huge, but is he wearing eyeliner? (Page not Bowie).

Probably gets to you quicker if you're in the UK, Genesis being British. Patience!

It can mean that, for sure. But then the grey box will say something like "this person has moved or deleted this image". If you just move it into a different folder within the same PB account, it'll disappear from here.

Pretty sure it's not possible - you need Photobucket or Imageshack or similar. If "My Media" is the same thing that lets you embed videos, e.g. from YouTube, it stumped me too, the one time I wanted to do so. I did read the instructions (when all else fails...) and was none the wiser. I seem to remember it had something to do with switching to Rich Text...but I couldn't figure out how you do that.

Nah, half the pics on here are posted from Photobucket accounts - that won't stop you seeing anything. Not that mysterious - they deliberately don't make it clear how it works and then try to push you into upgrading to a paid account to get more storage / bandwidth.

If they're mine, it's because I only get 10MB bandwidth a month on Photobucket, and it seems I went to 10.1. Hadn't even realized there was a limit on how much you could post to other sites - thought it just limited how much you could store. Whether the pics will reappear come next month (provided I don't go overboard on the posting next month) remains to be seen. Perhaps this is how the gods of the internet tell you you're spending too much time fangirling and should go and do something useful. I, of course, ignore them and merely start posting from a different PB account.

Rock stars certainly did...I mean, Jimmy was giving Paul McCartney a run for his money in the bad-hair stakes. You'd think people with their resources could at least go to Daniel Galvin or something. I have this awful image of them stocking up on the Just For Men and slathering it on themselves in their bathrooms, because like most men they couldn't admit to their own vanity and get it done properly. Then I start wondering if their wives had to help them... or if, perhaps, their wives had to just...pretend they didn't notice. And it such a shame, because the little bit of grey really suited him all along.

It'd also be cool if anyone can furnish more detail on these (1983?):

The knowledge that he made such a good recovery alleviates the pain for me... here's some pics of him looking lovely and healthy and happy after cleaning up, to make up for it... No, they're different jackets - the black one with the purple sparkly bits on the shoulders and the brown one with the glittery bits, both of which were worn in Zeppelin days. There are these which I have labelled as "1983 or 1984" - I don't know anything else (and I'm not even sure if the top one goes with the others): Then there's these, with similar outfit (note different scarf) which I have saved as "possibly 1985" but I don't know details: Then there's these which I believe are December 1983 at the Rainbow Club, LA: No doubt someone around here has more details.

It has been known... ...although, prior to about 1977, not often. I'd add anything where he's sporting the boot-polish-as-hair-dye look (circa 1993-2006), and all those ones with the velvet jacket and indoor sunglasses where he looks like Karl Lagerfeld.
