  1. I wasn't having a whinge. But if I had heard the rumours and if I had paid money to be there, I reckon I would have been underwhelmed by the collaboration. Ramble On was particularly horrible, with Grohl singing. It's my view, take it or leave it. It is no more or less important than anyone else's. Like you, I hope that JP and JPJ keep busy, working together. But we are all free to decide if we like what they do.
  2. My post told you my view. That's all. Of course you're entitled to a different view.
  3. A friend sent me a text from Wembley last night to tell me about this. I really don't like the foo fighters, and watching the youtube clips made me feel ok about missing it. Let's move on.
  4. Chicken drumsticks are my favourite.
  5. I was 16 then. It was 26 September when my mother told me and showed me the front page of the newspaper. I was in shock and I cried. It was because of the death of Bonzo and also the immediate realisation that it was the end of Zeppelin. I didn't go to school and some 'friends' teased me about it the next day. I felt like hitting out at them but its a good job I didn't because I didn't have proper control of my emotions.
  6. The Fall The Smiths Jamiroquai Red Hot Chilli Peppers
  7. If Robert chooses not to do it, it can't be Led Zeppelin and that takes away the whole point of it all. The media won't be so interested and neither will we.
  8. I wouldn't bother finishing "Fallen Angel", as it is very repetitive. I don't know how I had the stamina, but I was younger then.
  9. What poor fool came up with that crappy list ?
  10. Please take care in this worrying time of chaos and instability. I'm not sure what the best way forward for Pakistan is right now.

  13. 3hrs I forgot to mention the strobe effect. Well, it was a long time ago !
  14. If he does, it will be a backing vocal. The singing is the weakest part of the album, being mostly Chris Farlowe and John Miles, with a bit of Planty.
  15. Physical Graffiti - there is so much to look at !
  16. Secret Santa at work gave me an updated version of "Hammer of the Gods". I bought myself "Raising Sand".
  17. I just poached an egg - for the first time ever. I am 43.
  18. I'm not a techy geek, so how does that fibre optic cable trick work, exactly ?
  19. I was probably about 11 or 12 years old. I was listening to the 'heavier' pop bands of the time (T Rex, Alice Cooper, Queen, etc). Then my uncle played some music in his car - I think it was Pink Floyd - and I liked it and he seemed like a cool source of new listening. I borrowed 3 cassette tapes from him - Black Sabbath Vol 4, Genesis Live and Houses of The Holy. When I listened to HoTH, I thought TSRTS was cool, OTHAFA was majestic and The Crunge was horrid. I haven't changed my views to this day. But I went out and bought all of the albums, usually from a second-hand vinyl shop. I can't quite remember the order in which I got them, but it was like a confusing jigsaw to me - trying to put them all in order to appreciate how the band progressed. I remember that the NME Book of Rock was invaluable in helping me to catch up on so much of rock's history and to make sense of what happened when. I leafed through that book so much that it fell apart. I caught up with Pink Floyd, Genesis, Yes, BJH, Supertramp, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath and many more, but Zeppelin always remained the number one rock band for me. I got to see them at Knebworth in '79 and that was one of the greatest days of my life. I didn't get tickets to the O2, sadly enough, but then I don't ever win anything that is down to chance alone.
  20. This is me, with a baby leopard. [insert own pussy/lap joke here]
