  1. Half of PG was already recorded or written previously. They played Bron-Yr-Aur in some 1970 shows. Black Country Woman and Houses of the Holy were also recording in 1972. Didn't they play Black Country Woman in 72?
  2. I bet this soundcheck or part of it is released with either Houses of the Holy or Physical Graffiti re-release. Along with the Chicago 07-06 soundcheck.
  3. I might be able to get it down to about 100 I really like. Don't think I can pick a few above that.
  4. It doesn't matter what you or any of the fans think. The members of the band called it Led Zeppelin and preformed to their best abilities. It was about as awesome a moment and we'll get. Back to the topic. O2 version is up there. Probably my favorite overall considering the circumstances. Vancouver March 19th 1975 is also a favorite of mine. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDpbLdc1U8M
  5. It's not completely satirical. Haggard didn't particularly like those that protested the vietnam war the way they did. There was a little bit of that in the song. He was very much for the troops. He wrote other songs more blatantly pro troops in that period as well. "Fighting Side of Me" being the most notable. But a lot of the song was more based on his dad being the ultra conservative type. In interviews I've read on Merle he seems very libertarian in his views talking about civil rights and that we should be on the gold standard. This should really all be in a different thread. Don't know h
  6. He's more of a libertarian actually. Okie from Muskogee was actually and ironic song referring to his father. Merle was a big pot head during that time. Zeppelin deserved grammys in the 70s. This one just shows how weak music is today.
  7. I think Jimmy doesn't like using labels like that for anyone but himself. And possibly John Bonham.
  8. There are probably hundreds of songs Page played in and some we may never know for sure because we don't know which final mixes were used for some songs. Page supposedly played in Patula Clark's "Downtown", Marianne Faithfull's "As Tears Go By" Rolling Stone's "Heart of Stone", and possibly others like It's Not Unusual by Tom Jones, several Kinks songs. A few Yardbird songs.
  9. That will probably be announced when it's annonced what formats it will be released in. I'm not sure there will be a ton of extras to release with the length being basically the length of the show(2 hours and 4 minutes)
  10. There will be edits between the songs I just hope that all the full songs from the concert are released. I don't really care if they edit out the plantations and waits in between songs. There will also be overdubs and sound fixes here and there. Again no big deal to me. The sound of every live thing Zepp has released has been amazing.
  11. In 07 it was 100 times bigger. Sites like this were getting so much traffic that the servers couldn't handle it.
  12. There's probablyi around 50 or more really good ones that just about anyone can listen to. Honestly the list is too long to go through.
  13. When you realize that Rush one of the most influencial progressive hard rock bands still isn't in the R&RHOF after about 12 or 13 years of being eligible, that thing lost credibility a long time ago.
  14. There were at least 2 new releases last year 75 Seattle SBD and O2 rehearsals and there were 2 versions of that. One that was fragmented and one that was complete.
  15. Forgot about Tampa but NFBM was played at that gig so it seems that the only answer is still that one.
  16. I think there could only be one song played every show after inception because of the shortened shows of Milan, Chicago, and Nuremberg in 71, 77, and 80. Nobody's Fault But Mine.
  17. 77 was just so damned inconsistent all year round for the band. Even though Robert's voice was much better than in 75 or 73. Plant's voice in 73 started to crack a bunch, in fact at times in 73 it was much worse than at any time in 75 which says a lot because early in 75 or Plant was rough. But there's some shows in early 73 or maybe it was late 72 where he can't even sing at all in some of the songs. But what makes up for his voice being bad at times during this period was that the rest of the band was so well practiced that it didn't matter. 75 is my favorite year because even on a bad
  18. I would think if there were at least fragments of audio from this song at this show it would be out there. You would think SIBLY would show up if it were out there. So I'm leaning to no.
  19. guitars101 posts end up getting deleted. I've had that experience over and over again. If you have a boot you can post don't post it there. It'll get deleted. There are some good torrent sites. I know of a couple good sites somewhere on the blog world...that I kinda neglected lately because of that stupid thing called life. But making sure the the best live band of all time is well documented is a good thing.
  20. Last year I went to a concert with Billy Joel and Elton John that was about 3 hours with no intermission, but that was cheating because it was Billy and Elton for about 3 or 4 songs, Elton for his set, Joel for his set, then Joel & Elton again for about 5 songs. But then again Zeppelin actually did have intermissions for the bands at times. Bonzo's solos didn't involve the rest of the band for the most part. JPJ solos went on for 10-15 minutes without the band. Jimmy Page solos went on for 30+ minutes sometimes. Acoustic sets gave Bonzo a complete rest for 10 or 12 minutes or so. Zepp

  22. Just shows how bad they kept things over the years. I'm sure in the future there may be ways to fix some of the shows that are hard to repair right now. They also didn't release Long Tall Sally for that DVD even though they had about 4 minutes of the song in pretty good shape. You can find a great version of that song mixed with an audience recording on youtube. It's about 8 minutes. But as far as I know the only full version is Page/Plant.
  23. I think they played Dancing Days in one of the New York shows also. Or at least the music anyway. I can't remember if Robert sang it.
