  1. A democracy isn't even what our forefathers wanted for this country. In fact they feared a democracy. They wanted a republic there's a huge difference. If Iran and North Korea continue to try and develop nukes, it would be wrong to stay out of their business and hope the people overturn them. That's the same mentality that allowed Hitler to basically take over Europe. I think eventually there will have to be action taken against those countries before things get out of hand. I'm not sure if America can do that right now because of what the democrats are doing to the economy and the people,
  2. Beatles influence also compares. Take them out and there really isn't near as much popularity with the British groups that came around afterward including Led Zeppelin. The Beatles also pretty much created album oriented rock. Their biggest album "Sgt. Peppers" had no number 1 hits. But this isn't about the Beatles. Jackson's influence is right up there with Elvis and the Beatles.
  3. The next guy beat me to it. Slash played on 2 songs on Dangerous. I believe GNR was also recording Use Your Illusion at that time also.
  4. It appears I was wrong on the Iraq stuff as we appear to have left there finally, but the rest of my statements still stand.
  5. http://www.ledzeppelin-database.com/geekba...d=19&sort=0 Has both Elvis and Led Zeppelin versions. They dug on a bunch of Elvis.
  6. Guitar in Black or White was done by Slash. I didn't know this before looking it up, but Slash's mom was Black so that song has some relevance to him in that way
  7. Superbowl show in 93 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1zpTQCQEFhg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCma5VvMCXg
  8. Here's one of my favorite songs from MJ. Man in the Mirror http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1zpTQCQEFhg
  9. The rest of the Motown performance with his brothers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZNgdJojNT4
  10. Here's the thing that probably made him an absolute superstar. The moonwalk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8VASYhabHkM NOBODY can do it like MJ
  11. I voted for Obama because of what I thought of as a catastrophe of the Bush administration. Now I want the Bush administration back. Obama is Bush on steroids. He's put the country in further debt, taken the Bush spy policies like the phone stuff and made them bigger and he's yet to even really get plans to move out of Iraq which was the biggest problem with that administration. He's made all the problems we have had in America actually worse and he wants to make it to where we won't even get health care? You watch what happens after this health care stuff gets passed and funded. The death ra
  12. Oh yeah and to those complaining about Michael Jackson's little boy fetish which we don't know if it's 100% true or not. Didn't Page do girls that were like 13 or 14 in the 70s? That's not mentioning all the drug and alcohol use a ton of famous people have gone through the last forever. When you get to be so big you have issues especially when you are famous for your entire life like Michael was. Think about this he became the lead singer of the Jackson 5 when he was 5 years old. They were big by the time he was 10 years old. Do you remember anything in your life before you were 10 years old?
  13. Michael Jackson is absolutely one of the biggest stars ever on the planet. You won't see a member of Led Zeppelin getting the press he is getting after his death, You might see Paul McCartney get this hype when he dies but I doubt it. Possibly Bob Dylan but I doubt it. The controversies and issues he had the last 15-20 years of his life only made him even more well known even though it was for bad reasons. And with the controversy around his death appearing to be pill related. It'll only make him bigger. There are so few deaths out there that give this many opinions either way. He was the "Kin
  14. It's 'Sixteen' in the O2 concert. Not sure about the original.
  15. I think the quote means he was over Zeppelin as the crap that went with it. Bonzo and Jimmy being addicts. The off stage antics, the size that the band became was just too large for any human to really comprehend. But the music stayed with him throughout his solo career. Even though he didn't start playing the music of Zeppelin until the late 80s live he is still finding ways to play Zeppelin in different ways throughout his career. None of the members of the band can simply get over Zeppelin from a music stand point. That's like any member of the Beatles just getting over their music.
  16. It also increases value when you can pretty much get all the boots downloaded online for free. That would also increase prices for the actual boots.
  17. 9/29/71 and there are a lot of versions out there./
  18. He would rather be in semi retirement then going on tour regularly right now. He deserves that right.
  19. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCMjAdqtD0I and while I'm at it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUWA8aZZ7M8 Black Dog and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RW_xbeWbnOw No Quarter and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Uv3LRvX2mo Trampled Underfoot
  20. I don't know if anyone can say SIBLY is less emotional or powerful. But both were great at their own time. Just listen to the band in 1970 or 71 and tell me that there isn't as much emotion or power. The band was all around better by 75 because of the experience with each other. I think Presence can be described as Page's best album.
  21. Trampled Underfoot was flat out wicked in March of 75. I don't think they ever played it as good after that point.
  22. His first gig was to replace Letterman on the Late Show at 11:30 in 1993. He was never on TV before that year.
  23. The problem with the Immigrant Song is that it only was really good for about a year or a year and a half. from about late 70 to late 71 or early 72 by 72 Robert's voice went a little down hill.
  24. It probably will happen just not as soon as most of us thought about a year ago. It'll be on their own time. It seems like something comes up every once in a while to keep the Zeppelin name out there. In the 90s it was the Box Set, then Page/Plant stuff with BBC mixed in. Then the DVD/HTWWW stuff in 02/03, then the Mothership followed by O2 concert. Give it a couple of years when there's nothing out there Zeppelin related it'll come out. There will probably be a CD with it.
