  1. This is from the 02 concert. Jimmy and Robert embrace at the end, it's obvious that Robert is taller. That should put an end to any discussion about which one is taller. They aren't roughly the same height, Robert is a good inch taller.
  2. I've posted this before but don't know where. Conan O'Brien is a huge Zeppelin fan this was done in the 90s and it needs to be shown repeatedly on any Zepp message board. He will be starting his first shows on the Tonight Show on Monday. Good luck on the Tonight Show Conan!
  3. I wish they would have played it more. Robert did a decent version with his Priory of Brion band.
  4. None of Zeps albums are weak. I really like Physical Graffiti and Presence a lot. Long time no see Ev.
  5. Just found this boot recently, it's a pretty good set of coversm ostly about an hour and half of Jimmy jamming with a pretty decent band. Here's a little sample I found on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5qm7XvcHsA
  6. They played You Shook Me a lot in 1969 and it even returned in some medleys in the 70s.
  7. It's the best blues song Zeppelin ever did.
  8. Outside of Joplin of course Ann Wilson and Patsy Cline are my 2 favorite singers of all time
  9. I like the 4-28 aud performance much better than the 27th. The band seemed a little off on the 27th to me.
  10. WTLB was played in 75, but Robert's voice was shot so it didn't sound too good. Friends was played at least one time in 1971. I've heard rumors it was played more than once but there's only one tape of it. You Shook Me and almost all of Zeppelin I, outside of GTBT, and YTIGC, was played a lot in 1969. I think Robert Plant said GTBT opened the shows in the Scandinavian Tour in 1968 but there's nothing to support or deny that outside of Robert's word.
  11. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TM2SLCJwELI Plant & Krauss http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1M_7rzz_Cbc Plant & SS RoRHof with Mr Young
  12. It just depends on the quality of the boot. Some soundboards sound bad just like a lot of audiences do.
  13. The only other famous person I know of with that name is the father of the American Navy and he's been dead about 200 years.
  14. Bone cancer has taken a great person. Here's a couple youtube vids I can find to tribute him http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjCb0GPMS50 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7-BuAX25-I vid after an amputation last fall.
  15. Just like Sabbath they are a metal influence.
  16. They lyrics of Achilles were written after Zeppelin's break in late 73-74. But the instrumentals were started on as early as 73, you can just hear that in some live shows. Most of it was written after Plant's car accident. There's some versions of Achilles that aren't that good live but I think the live versions are pretty good.
  17. I like Paul Rodgers, I just cringed everytime I heard him do a Queen song. It just doesn't sound right. But then again anyone but Freddy singing most of those songs doesn't sound right.
  18. I think I've read they've had a small orchestra come in on Kashmir, but I don't know if I'm 100% right on that. Frogt about Stu.
  19. There is no way that it could have been anyone else in the band. It doesn't sound like anyone else in the band outside of Robert and outside of Battle of Evermore and maybe Kashmir Zeppelin never brought in outside musicians.
  20. Definitely Robert and he did the song in the style of James Brown
