  1. Thanks Dude!!!!.....a B'ham Man.....you're just up the road so to speak. I still can't believe I was able to put it together to be in London.....but it went good and was a FANTASTIC night. A little pic of where I was.......
  2. Mobile, Al May 13, 1973......awsome small venue for them!!!!(Lost ticket in divorce) Still have Ticket to Cancelled Superdome July 30, 1977 (was the first cancelled show after Oakland when Plants son died....I'm still in mourning over that) 02 Arena London....Dec. 10, 2007.......whew!!!!......25 ft in front of stage.....certainly got my ticket and armband for that. Told the wife.......I could "go on" now.
  3. Now that's funny!!!........what's a poser? That Bloodylane is a lucky one.....almost royalty with a list that.....must live in New York or LA or somewhere..............
  4. Dern.......the last shows in 77. I've still got my Superdome ticket.....cancelled right after Oakland.
  5. I'm glad you brought that up. I just downloaded from a torrent the Knebworth Show.....its in 3- 500MB MPG files.....the quality is actually pretty good. It is obviously the Aug 11th show......Plant refers to "last week" during the show a few times that gives away which show. I want the Aug 4th show. It must be the better show in some ways. It's obvious in Achilles Last Stand especially that Jimmy must have used the Aug 4th show to make the DVD he released in 2003. Can I get some help here?....what's the DVD that you just say you ordered?? I've seen it actually on Amazon and various places....but would like a little help getting the very best quality and the correct show I'm looking for.......I'll appreciate the feedback.......thanks in advance. I'm not a big bootlegger.......I just love to watch them so much.....JR
  6. ......and you just stepped into "Kingship".....your Majesty.....with that story of yours.....Noble Stonefreelee!!!......keep it going!!!!
  7. Stonefreelee........you ARE THE MAN!!!......that 73 tour was indescribable. I'm in FL and had friends that made it to the 56K in Tampa....but I couldn't.....I made it to a small venue May 13...Mobile, AL...all I can say is HOLY SHIT!!!.....it was awsome!!!! I'm 52 now.....turned 18 between my show and yours. They filmed TSRTS in NY, MSG.....3 weeks or so after your show......some really neat times!!! I just got to go to the 02 Arena.....on this forum is about the only place I can find people on my "wavelength".
  8. Holy Smoke!!!!.......what a fantastic experience you had!!!......it's guys like you that make this forum!!!
  9. I was blown away just like you....maybe in two ways ......they "rocked" Mobile, AL like it was Madison Square Garden.....or any other larger venue. They were truely passionate about putting on a good show. It was no wonder that no other bands wanted to play anywhere around those guys. What other band has carried an awsome reputation like that?? So damn good that you needed to be the only show!!!....and a band that specifically stayed away from writing and playing for top 40 radio. NOBODY has laid a path like them. JR
  10. Woah!!!........Baz you just stepped into Lordship with that one.......what a fantastic memory to be sitting on.
  11. Wow.....what an awsome story. I've been watching Knebworth on the DVD but on a norm you don't see the extra footage of the crowds.....tents....etc...without going back into the menu.....have you watched this??......you may see yourself.....or surely some very familiar sites.
  12. What a neat story.....thanks for sharing. It's amazing in our younger years how many of these road trips turned into the saga from hell. I didn't get into it yet but in the Mobile show....we were about 3/4 thru the show when one of my buddies passed out. We were all standing so tight up front that he couldn't fall down.....made for a funny situation. We eventually carried him out to go find seats we spotted that were virtually at the corner of the stage still. So other than our transport time with him, we really didn't loose too much of the show.
  13. We're about the same age Jethro......I was 13 turned 14 in June of 69. I was 17 at the concert in May of 73 and turned 18 and graduated high school in the first of June. I had some buddies that had made it to the 56K in Tampa.....but I couldn't go to it. I was glad it worked out to see them i Mobile, AL.....I was down front at a fairly small venue.....won't ever forget. It's 150 mi. to Mobile from here and 5 of us rode over on an old Ford van with a matress thrown in the back. What a trip that was!!
  14. I've heard that Cleveland show was awsome.......I bet it was good. Did you have good seats?? I "almost saw them again in 77.....I've still got my Superdome cancelled ticket....it was where the tour ended and Robert came to New Orleans and found out about his son.
  15. Yes.... click on this http://www.ledzeppelin.com/timelinebrowse you can then click on 1973. They were only there the once and it was July and the last shows of the 73 tour....i think.
