  1. Hot Dog solo is pretty bad, not in the pocket at all. Never understood how that was the take he said " right, good enough". It's a simple enough tune. He could've banged out 4 solos within 30 mins on that one...or 8 in an hour. Fool In the Rain also has a pretty weird sloppy solo. It has it's moments though. I never cared for the octaver sound, even though it's become iconically associated with the song.
  2. Houston is a good one. New Orleans is killer.
  3. Agreed . Would love to hear him " Dig Deep" on that topic. Maybe he did and I missed it.
  4. I always thought it was a blend of a trendy sound of the time, and the processing/effects was a way to mask his vocal shortcomings.
  5. I'm glad to see Jonesy is out there and he seems inspired, but this is extremely tedious for me to listen to. It's cacophonous...no groove, nothing lyrical.... uninteresting harmonically. Sounds like cerebral wanking. The recent project names are dreadful too....Tres Chipotle Pimps .
  6. My YouTube channel name is now Bonhamology. Here is a video which illustrates my various Playlists.
  7. Audio is supposedly a new source, from the filmer. (?) It sounds great.
  8. Thank you for putting this more are tick you lately than my attempt, it's basically what I was trying to say. p.s. that's how autocorrect spelled it, and I'm just going to leave it at that. 😄
  9. Can someone share this another way? The link is not working in the guitars101 post
  10. Agreed. Doubtful it would have gone as far in recent times as it did then. The world was way different, Zep were a product of that time, post hippy, counter culture. Blues, soul, folk and funk influencing rock and roll, the blues figuring prominently. Now all of that is bygone, and there are "Schools Of Rock". Radio is very different from what it once was. Rock was much more present on the airwaves. Frankly, the hypothesis is too vague...would Zeppelin have broke and become the biggest band nowadays, exactly as they were? I doubt it. Again, how could they be, as they were ... now?? They were a product of their time.
  11. Interesting to come across this post from a couple years back. I believe the tape holder referred to here is the daughter of a Showco employee who passed away a while ago, and she was looking for buyers at the time of a load of tapes, and memorabilia from many bands. Someone here may know more about it.
  12. He's on fire! I love how he played this song in 71, pummeling pile driver!
  13. The playing on the 28th is really outstanding and there are many unique moments in the interaction on songs like Heartbreaker, What Is, SIBLY, Dazed. Going To Cal is exceptional. Jimmy could easily cherry pick from the two Osaka tapes and put out a How The East Was Won. I still can't understand why it would take so long oh, but I'm hoping Something official or the rest of these soundboards surface next year for the 50th of the show.
  14. This post says it's from a 2013 independent documentary about the alleged Wheaton IL gig on Jan 20 1969. Apparently there is no audio. The film was called Led Zeppelin Played Here, by Terry Kulik. It was made into a DVD. Anyone see it? I can't find it anywhere on the internet. the Laurel pop footage is supposedly going to be used for the upcoming LZ documentary. 🤔
  15. Just did a video play along to Bonzo's part on this version.
  16. Incredible! 2020 is off to a good start ... unofficially speaking! 😉 Thanks for the news.
  17. Absolutely. The fidelity of Olympia show is much worse than most board tapes could be cleaned up and EQ'd. It's beyond frustrating at this point.
