  1. and as a follow up to my previous post - we should all respect each other's opinions as well. Much like the chicken or the egg argument, the Page and Plant debate is one that won't ever have a correct answer. If everyone all had the same opinions or POV's about Zeppelin, well what a boring world ( and forum) this would be. You might not like someone's post , but just remember they have the right to post it , and while you might not agree with it, that doesn't make it wrong. Personally I'd like to see more of a whole lotta love around here....
  2. Why oh why does every single thread about Robert Plant performing have to turn into a Plant playing without Page thing ??? I suggest everyone take a big step back and learn to just relax and enjoy any type of performance whether it be a live one or just listening to the re-masters, because there will come a time when Plant, Page, and Jones will be gone and all that will be left is the music. If you love this music that much, and I suspect you do or you wouldn't be a part of this forum, then learn to respect the choices , be they personal or professional, of the musicians who created i
  3. There is nothing more annoying than someone roaring in here with only 4 posts ,attacking longtime forum members ,and slamming Plant under the guise of defending Page. Someone needs to start a Led Zeppelin "Troll" forum so all these jokers can go over there and post. The one long run on sentence was amusing however.
  4. Merry Christmas to all the fine members of this forum! However you celebrate...I hope your day today is a lovely one!
  5. This definitely qualifies as an " Awwwww...." http://wtvr.com/2014/12/22/must-see-video-doggie-does-happy-dance-after-catching-glimpse-of-owner/
  6. I have always loved Joe's rendition of "With a Little Help from my Friends". I was fortunate enough to have seen him perform twice and he never disappointed. That heavenly choir has a really unique voice now! R.I.P Joe...
  7. Great thread!!! I can't wait for tonight ! It quickly became a festive tradition for me so next year won't feel quite the same. I'm on the West Coast so I have the luxury of watching the early East Coast feed and then the West one later. Despite the demons that may have driven his life, it is impossible to come up with a better Christmas record than " A Christmas Gift For You" from Phil Spector....
  8. I really don't have a problem with any of his choices. It's really none of our business. Whatever he does in his personal life , as long as he is happy and enjoying himself, who are we to judge? Last I heard.. the same scenario worked out just fine for Eric Clapton...and fwiw...I am a woman.
  9. The words " better than" don't exist in my musical realm. I love the guitar so much that I love what each and every one of these players have brought into my life through their music.... Jimmy Page, Johnny Winter, Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Rory Gallagher, Garry Moore, James Burton, Roy Buchanan, Duane Allman, Hubert Sumlin, and i could go on....
  10. Thank you SO much for stating this... I have to agree 100%....the look on his face when they brought out that acoustic...I thought he handled the situation very well . What boggles my mind is the huge debate started about his playing ability over a few quick strums of Ramble On. The guitar was not his....and to those of you who have never played , or think that when you go into a Guitar Center that all those guitars hanging up on the wall are all the same....they aren't. Every player chooses a guitar on a very personal level...they become an extension of yourself. To be handed another gu
  11. But then, Jimmy looks at you with those twinkling eyes that have seen a million stages and rocked them harder than Bon Jovi could ever conceive and you feel your hand in Jimmy's grip, with those fingers that coaxed millions of sounds and notes from his guitar that seared your mind and stirred your soul, and all of your pretense of calm is lost and you become an awestruck 13-year-old schoolgirl. That line alone gave me a HUGE grin when I read it!! What a wonderful ending to a great day Strider! Loved the fact you had the idea to carefully choose some 45's for Jimmy's jukebox....or stereo!
  12. Wow! Great writing....I feel as if I was right there ! Can't wait to hear your next installment!!
  13. I am too new to this forum to have known Levee...... Oscar Wilde said " You can judge a man by the effect he has over his friends..." Just reading the comments people have posted , and those who have come back to pay tribute are truly telling of what a great guy Levee was. Rest in peace...
