  1. A great musician and human being... can't wait to listen to his new record! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJZFb6LJ3PY
  2. Dinosaur Jr - Farm First time listening to this band, sounds a lot like the 90's but I'm liking it a lot!
  3. It's funny because I've been listening to some songs from this album too in the past 2 days. I haven't listened to whole post-zeppelin catalog of Page, Plant or Jones but I think that Jimmy is just great on this one. It's not a great record but it's a must for any serious LZ fan on the strength of Jimmy's guitar work alone.
  4. Pink Floyd are one of the early bands I remember listening to, especially the "Wish You Were Here" album. One thing I never understood though was the fascination with Syd Barrett, sure he's a good musician and his life was shrouded in mystery, to me the remaining members along with Gilmour created Pink Floyd's best work, in my opinion anyway.
  5. The White Stripes - Icky Thump Never listened to it until this week but it's a great album! It's slowly becoming my favorite White Stripes album.
  6. Wow that site is great thanks!
  7. Mastodon - Pendelous Skin It's not a metal song it's a nice laid-back song. Great vibe and great guitar solo!
  8. Pink Floyd - Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Part One)
  9. I've been listening to Mastodon for the last couple of weeks and I've been loving it! I don't usually listen to metal besides some Metallica occasionally, Kyuss or QOTSA that aren't exactly metal but have some elements I think. It was hard to assimilate at first all the loud, fast and somehow dark (because of the unusual scales used perhaps?) music that it is metal, again, because in my teenage years I used to listen to nu-metal bands like Korn, Limp Bizkit, P.O.D. and the likes, I loved the anger and energy that fueled that kind of music, but grew tired and bore of it as I got older and discovered other bands from other genres and eras. But I gotta say I'm rediscovering the genre trough Mastodon, what I like about them is the progressive elements and high level of talent that they have as musicians, I'll certainly keep listening to them.
  10. Thanks, he's not well known besides here in Portugal and France. Here's his myspace. Oh, by the way he does play kazoo on some songs. His music isn't exactly blues its more a kind of one-man-band blues mixed with rockabilly I guess. Anyway here's a clip of a Portuguese guitarist, Rui Veloso, playing with B.B. King:
  11. Since you mention "one man bands" here's one (and only I guess) from my country who is actually my avatar at the moment. Legendary Tiger Man (he's real name is Paulo Furtado) It's basically a combination of blues and 50's rock n' roll. Hope you like it.
