  1. Not sure what's going on here (no one is), but the whole thing strikes me as complete theater. We know there is major political conflict between Wagner and the Russian military, this may have been staged as a pretext to formally absorb Wagner into the regular army and push Prigozhin (who is very popular in Russia) out. Also, since the US media is acknowledging that the much-hyped "counteroffensive" is going nowhere, it's safe to assume that the Ukrainian "state" is on its last legs. Since China (Russia's primary benefactor, the only one who really matters) benefits from this thing dragging out, this may have also been staged to provide an excuse for Russia pausing operations (or rather, allowing the Ukraine to temporarily regroup before sending more press-ganged teenage and elderly conscripts to slaughter, along with continued cash flow for the western MIC).
  2. Exactly right. Another thing to keep in mind here is that China has been by far the biggest winner of all of this. Since they benefit the longer it drags out (it keeps the US occupied away from Asia), it's highly likely that they have pressured the Russians into taking a go-slow approach. Which the Russians have to agree to, since they require trade with China to avoid US-imposed global sanctions. Basically, the US needs to control Russia's resource to be able to confront China, and all they've succeeded in doing is making Russia the junior partner of China. Job well-done!
  3. Amusing account: May 14 (neworleanspast.com)
  4. Thanks for the info. We drive through Mobile a few times a year, it seems nice but not exactly a huge town, curious why Zep did a show there?
  5. Very cool, thanks. Odd-looking stage floor.
  6. Why, I get it from the ex-PM: Paul Keating labels Aukus submarine pact ‘worst deal in all history’ in attack on Albanese government | Australian politics | The Guardian The US isn't even done losing to Russia in the Ukraine, and they're already trying to start a war with China. I guess with the mother of all financial crises brewing, they need to go full retard. Speaking of which, pretty pathetic that Aussies are just as willing to be cannon fodder for the US Empire as the Ukro-nazis. Well done, mate!
  7. Fair enough, but you'd think the health authorities and media would come out with such numbers if they provided plausible denial, instead of professing bafflement over the surge in deaths post-vax.
  8. NO fans conveniently forget that the refs missed a blatant face-mask by NO against the Rams on the previous possession that would have given the Rams first and goal inside the five (they instead had to settle for a field goal). It's just pathetic how they've bitched about this for four years, when it was their own complete meltdown and lack of composure (I still vividly remember Sean Payton losing his shit and haranguing the refs in OT while his defense was failing to get a stop) that cost them the game. Bad calls/missed calls are part of the game, they need to be dealt with.
  9. Yes, it was a minor infraction but it was still an infraction and the Philly defender admitted it and hoped he could get away with it. It's precisely in that situation under a ton of scrutiny when a player needs to avoid a silly penalty because that's when the refs are going to be particularly diligent. You can't assume what you got away with before will still work then. (Just like the stupid late hit in the AFC championship, it was minor but you cannot do that [touch a guy out of bounds] in that situation.) That's the reality. It doesn't matter that they might have ignored it earlier in the game (and I'm pretty sure the refs weren't letting defenders grab jerseys all night long), in that situation minor things take on a much bigger significance. Mahomes was probably faking but if the Philly coaching staff fell for it (supposedly they were preparing to see the backup Henne in the 2nd half, just absurd), well, that again supports my claim that they are the reason the Eagles lost the game, not some otherwise minor call at the end. I don't often post on sports, no, but like anything else, if I feel like I have something to say, I do.
  10. I love early Kiss, but I'm gonna have to pass on this one.
  11. How is it bullshit? It was an obvious foul, however minor (you're not allowed to grab someone's jersey, which clearly happened), and the Philly defender was man enough to admit it. If the refs didn't make an obvious call (again, the fact that it was minor and at a critical stage of a big game is completely irrelevant), the game would "once again be decided by the zebras", no? Philly lost that game because, unlike KC, they failed to make half-time adjustments. I.e., they were out-coached.
  12. Not a fan of either team but this game showed how important coaching is in the pros. KC made the necessary half-time adjustments, Philly didn't. Siriani got totally out-coached by Reid.
