  1. If I have one recommendation, it's DeWolff. DeWolff is a dutch bluesrock/retro-rock trio (guitar/vocals, hammond organ and drums), for me they are proof that the rock music we all love is still very much alive. Their music will remind you of Deep Purple, Allman Brothers Band and also a bit of Led Zep & The Doors. I've seen them live quite a few times and these talented young rockers really put on a good show! Check out their gig in Eindhoven, The Netherlands (from early 2014): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQD4rKxK2ak Enjoy, Maaike
  2. Cold, rainy and grey october day here in The Hague.
  3. Don't hear Led Zep that ofen on dutch radio. That is..., unless you are listening to a classic rock station. Somethomg like Arow Classic Rock (www.arrow.nl) But..., on dutch radio Led Zep often appears to be on all those lists radio stations come up with around christmas/new year. (Top 2000 of all times, Aroow Rock 500, etc......)
  4. Indeed, I also had heard the music before I ever had any idea about what Jimmy looked like. (First time I got an idea about what he looked like was in the 90's, when he and Robert did that MTV "Unledded" thing. Back then I still had no clue what he looked like in his prime.....). But...., I do think Jimmy's appeal was the fact that he was somehow different. Oh..., and he had something mysterious about him. Jimmy didn't seem to go with what was popular or fashionable, he did his own thing. In my opinion, Jimmy is an example of how being different can actually be a good thing.
  5. Lol! Yup. All three indeed look like they are very much up tp no good.
  6. You are welcome! Love the pictures you posted as well! Thanks! Maaike
  7. Here's another nice one from the same era. Maaike
  8. This is me @ "Het Paardcafe", The Hague (The Trojan Horse Cafe, The Hague).
  9. Good morning ladies, hope all wis well. As you all know, I also play the guitar and just like many of us, I like Jimmy playing his trademark Gibson Les Paul. But....., I have a soft spot for the early days of Led Zep, when Jimmy was still playing his dragon Fender Telecaster. So, here are some oldies, but (I think) goodies. Enjoy! Have a great day, Maaike
  10. Lol! I also used to have one of these when I was just a little girl. OK, the graphics and all that of modern video games may be better, but back then I surely enjoyed the old video games like Super Mario Bros, Castlevania and The legend of Zelda.
  11. Who wants to live forever, Queen. It's on the radio here at work right now (my colleagues listen to dutch radio 2).
  12. We'll never forget John Bonham, there has never been another drummer like him..... and there never will be.....
  13. Mmmm...., I've always wondered what the deal is with photobucket. I also can see some picture, while I can't see others (I do not have a photobucketaccount). I always thought the grey photopucket-boxes meant the photo's were removed or for some reason no longer exist.........? Maaike
  14. I think there is something us pagettes likely all agree on and that is the fact that Jimmy still has such a great smile.
  15.     I know, I am going to the livingroom show in my hometown of The Hague., hosted by a Bruce-buddy of mine. Looking forward to it. Maaike
  16. Good morning fellow Pagettes, How are you all doing? Hope all is well. As I am drinking my morning coffee and starting my day, I am reading up on what I have been missing the last few weeks... Some great pictures again and also some interesting discussions....... You know ladies, when Jimmy was young, he was such a beautiful young man. Thick dark hair, green eyes and a very pretty face. Not to mention his talent and musical skills, Jimmy is someone who always was different and I mean different in a good way. Jimmy can take that remark as a compliment. To me it is such a shame that by the mid 70's he started to have issues with his heroin addiction, that off course never is good for both your health and your looks........ So yes, for me too, there are pictures from that period I find hard to look at........... However, I am very glad he eventually managed to deal with these issues and today he seems happy and healthy. As for Jimmy and vanity. In his young years he really did seem to care about his looks, he sure had a fashion-sense of his own (and I like it). I feel that when he got a bit older it took him a while to come to terms with his age, so that is why I think he kept coloring his hair for so long. Today he seems comfortable with his age and his silver hair. See the added picture, good hairstyle for his older self (I like this better than the ponytail). Have a great day ladies, Maaike
  17. I really could use a bit of a pick up, this lovely picture will do just fine. Maaike
  18. Love these too. Thanks for posting. Maaike
  19. OK, yes I understand that without the Big Man & The Phantom the E-street band isn't the same. And yes, we'll always remember them and miss them.... However, I think Jake Clemons and Charlie Giordano also do a great job. For Jake I can truly imagine how at first it was difficult to step into his uncle's shoes, Jake is a great musician in his own right by the way. I still think Bruce has plenty of energy on stage and the band still is very good. His shows are still 3 hrs, plus marathons. Plus, him having brought Tom Morello into the mix, gave his music a new dynamic. Maaike
  20. Yes, it was a beautiful thing to behold. Harvest moon on sept 9th.
  21. This is tragic news.... How hard must it be on his little boy and all the other loved ones behind....... Maaike
  22. There is something about this picture that would make you wonder what he was thinking about...... "Penny for your thoughts, Jimmy...."
  23. Thank you. I could view the picture just by clicking on the link. No worries, it seems to work. Maaike
  24. I just Love JImmy's leather jacket.
