Of course Wikipedia could be wrong but I’ll bet you’ll be hard pushed to find any information anywhere to back up your theory. All information available indicates that it was a harmonica played by Robert which incidentally is what it sounds like to most people.

I recently started to watch a Physical Grafitti special because someone told me it was a " Classic Album" video, and I was sure it wasn't, but anyway....it was a disappointing program. The usual pablum.
This is something that should've been worked up for the 50th ... especially with Glynn Johns, Eddie Kramer or George Chkiantz.
Maybe they just want to keep things mystical and mysterious.
I’d imagine it’s not something that fits with Jimmy’s vision of how the band should be presented. Also allowing Classic Albums to make a documentary would mean relinquishing some element of control over the final product. The Beatles and Stones haven’t been featured either.

The thing is if they did reconvene for “One” last gig or even a “Farewell “ tour a few years down the line there would still be people clamoring for more, more, more. This forum would still have notices posted of how it’s not fair ,they owe us one last show and if the Stones can still do it in their ‘90’s why can’t Led Zeppelin.

I do realize this. I loved the album from the get go including the way it was recorded. A friend I played it to immediately said “who’s this? It sounds like a bad demo”
It should be pointed out that Jimmy and Robert are the credited producers on this record.

I’m no expert but this would get my alarm bell ringing too. Why would that need to be written on an in-house demo. The only reason it appears to be there is for enticement.

Squeaky? After the page and plant reunion I think. I remember Robert saying that Jimmy was drinking a lot at that time and how he’d sorted himself out by 2007. I think he’s said before that he gave up heroin and cocaine in the early eighties.

Although, I guess he could've deliberately twisted the pronunciation to obscure the lyric and make it more ambiguous.

In the article you linked to he supposedly suggests to Robert that they switch roles. If it actually happened it was during the journey to rehearsal with Robert and not a drunken freak out and he was obviously not being serious.

Yes he is just taking the piss. One thing this thread does highlight is the still present humor gap between different cultures and how comments can be misinterpreted by others regardless of their original intentions. Even with the well established advances in global communication our nations still have our collective individuality and idiosyncrasies.
