  1. Banner Graphic, Greencastle, Putnam County, 22 June 1973
  2. Tampa 73 ... apologies re the quality of the images.
  3. I highly doubt it was a publicity stunt. It's buried in their concert history pages. They didn't shout it out. I was just going through their listings and happened to see it. I don't doubt the sincerity of it just whether it actually happened, or whether the date was correct. It came from their manager's diaries, so it's a written artifact from the time.
  4. Response from the Badfinger site. I sent a follow-up question as well.
  5. I found this on a very well-documented Badfinger fansite (but no other info for this date was provided). This would be a new date I think. Any idea if this actually happened? Update: I just noticed this was already posted (p141)...I guess it's still a mystery...
  6. Hammer of the Gods, Stephen Davis (multiple different editions exist)
  7. Thought I'd start a thread on all the books written on the boys. I'd like to keep this to bios/histories, etc. (i.e. no music books with guitar tabs, etc.). Gross, M. (1975). Led Zeppelin's Golden Boy Robert Plant. New York, NY: Popular Library This was put out by Circus magazine. I have a copy and as far as I can remember it's not a bad read. Has many photos, most of which are well known.
  8. Eagle Rock Festival, August 14th, 1970 - Cancelled
  9. Thanks Sam...I don't have Greg Russo's book (yet)...but I was seeing Danish dates on other sites, so assumed this was an unknown date. I wonder what they did from Jan 3rd to 6th?
  10. Are you saying Jeff Beck can't improvise? I beg to differ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDjgJ8Am2x8
  11. A new (unknown) date with Jimmy Page, Jan 7th, 1967: So if they were in New England in early January 67 where else did they play?
  12. I was at this show. As a teen at the time, with walls plastered with posters of Zeppelin in their full testorone glory, I can only say that seeing Plant in a jump suit, dancing around in a un-zep fashion was a big letdown. The songs were good, and the show was entertaining (and Phil Collins was on drums)...but it just wasn't Zep. Kudos to Plant for trying to be original and break away from his past, but as a kid it was a bit of a disappointment. Thanks for sharing this video.
  13. The Yardbirds radio interview on Let's Go in Vancouver, B.C. July 7th, 1967. Jimmy can be heard discussing his interest in making films.
  14. Toronto, Nov 2, 1969 from the U of T Varsity Newspaper
  15. Leeds, Jan 24, 1970 ... " ...six encores..." Leeds, March 9, 1971, all from the Leeds Student newspaper Happy reading!
  16. Steve, I found this quote in the Oct 20th, 1970 edition of The Rambler, the student newspaper of Farmingdale State College on Long Island, NY. Possible new date. Based on the article date, it would be 1969 or 70, and would likely be when they were in the area. I also assume that given the venue, it was booked before they became too well known. Any thoughts, ideas?
  17. Could that be a typo? Does it actually refer to "The Now Explosion". If so it looks like these were locally made videos (films) using popular tunes of the time.
  18. A few new ads for 69 shows... Aug 27th, 69, Milwaukee (date moved to the 31st following the death of JPJ's dad) May 69, Chicago Feb 69, Chicago July 69, Chicago May 25, Columbia
  19. "Daltrey is the debut solo album by The Who's lead singer, Roger Daltrey...It was first released in 1973....He also released a single in 1973, "Thinking" with B-side "There is Love" which features Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin on guitar." Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daltrey_(album) (...yes it's wikipedia...)
