I love Joni. Not all that interested in the others. She indeed has lead a colorful life. And been with some of the greatest musicains....lucky lady! And still very beautiful.

Well, you'll still talk about her I'm sure. A mothers worries never, ever go away, no matter how old they get. But...think of the great times you'll have with hubby...alone! And eventually....being gramma, like I am, happily now.

Did you all notice/see the HUGE beefy security surrounded Obama after his speech? He must have had at least five huge heffers watching over him. That is a good sign. No one was guarding McCain, as far as I could see anyway. His laughable piddly audience trucked in from the nearest nursing home.

He played an amazing electric guitar once here, don't know if it was the herb floating around or what but he KICKED butt! I couldn't believe it. It was this itty bitty square guitar that sounded like Hendrix. I was told later by someone who knows that it was Jimmy's guitar. Blew me away. I actually had to sit down.

Not unless he comes to my area. So far he's not. BUT, if that rumor about "The Not Strictly Bluegrass" Fest is true. My daughter and I will MOST definitely go. We both want to take a little trip to Frisco, and I so want her to see Golden Gate Park and all the sites. The festival looks kick ass, all free with the entire park having different stages. We may go anyway, even if A&R cancel. We want to spend three days there, that's how long the fest is, but we want to go to all the usual tourist traps too. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I had empty nest for a couple of years. My kids are now all over 18. I had a "so what am I now?" period when I felt...I'm not a hands on Mom anymore. I had a period of pity parties. So much of my life was all about my kids. So, I did sort of mourn my identity as a Mom with small kids. But NOW........ I feel free again. No husband, just my cat, and I believe pets can be very much like a person in the family. People who can't have kids get a lot of benefit having animals to love and care for. It's an adjustment for sure. But distance doesn't have to be sad. * heh, I can finally walk around neked again *

Been there, I empathize. Now though, surprisingly, my eldest son actually asks for my advise seriously. That makes me feel good. It's all worth it. on another note: I agree Mandy, I CAN NOT tolerate humidity. It is suffocating and like hell to me. If North Carolina could move to Utah, I would be the happiest person. Providing that brought with it , magically all the gorgeous flora and birds our desert can't sustain.
