I think you misinterpreted...as I see it the interviewer and audience are saying how awesome the performance they just gave was, in response to Plant saying how great they are playing right now even compared to the Zep years. There was no shutting down of Plant's shit so far as I can tell. I don't agree with him that he's better now than ever but I understand him saying it. It wouldn't be fun to think that the best has come and gone.

Perhaps this suggests that the entire performance is out there. I wouldn't be surprised if this were released in the coming years.

Please god yes. Euro '73 here we come. What the flying f**k? Are they two years old? This is one of the most incredible things I have read in a while. What a shame. Can't just be RP saying it bc of his voice. Must be other things going on too. An unbelievable shame. Maybe RP and JPJ legitimately don't like the performances that were captured. Hopefully with 2018 remixing techniques it can get to a place where the others would sign off on it. Not that it's even my first choice for a release, but if JP wants it this badly, as he very clearly does, I want him to make it and release it. The others should do it for him!

I have never seen anyone, anyone at all, who makes playing the guitar seem so easy and effortless as SRV. Like it's the simplest thing in the world.

I like the band, they make great music in the studio especially. The guitarist is good live too from what I've seen. I don't like the singer live at all!

It really is so strange how the first one sounds the best. Literally the others don't hold a candle, sonically, with the exception of Presence.

Not exactly sure whether or not this classifies as a "mystery" or not. Is anything about this known? I can't find anything on it. My imaginative theory is that Page or Grant did not like the interview and quashed the thing from every being broadcasted. Would be awesome to hear as Cavett usually asked great questions.

I recently posted this video in a new thread elsewhere, and I am generally blown away by how entertaining this band was. They seem to capture a feeling that I really only previously associated with Led Zeppelin (and maybe Janis Joplin). I guess it falls along the lines of a combination between being ultimately excellent at your craft and having a passionate love for the music you are making, as well as being able to show it all off in an energetic way. The only thing that seems to be lacking here is Townshend's ability to solo, which is extremely lacking... It's funny, everyone in the comment section of the YouTube vid is talking about Led Zeppelin, and how The Who are so much better. I don't know what it says that Led Zep are on their minds so much...!

I think this one is underrated just cause I don't see it mentioned all too often. I've brought it up a few times lately. Hawaii 1970 is an incredible, fierce show. A lot of improv, a lot of passion, Plant in absolute peak condition. A very short set, which maybe contributes to them going all out on each song. Decent enough sound.

Not sure what you want me to take away from this. A lot of name calling and little substance. Small shops that now can afford to make even one new hire. Lastly, with regards to "83% of stocks are owned by the 1%". What dumb logic. First of all, the correct statistic is that the wealthiest 10%, not 1%, of households own 84% of stocks. Know your facts. More importantly, every American with a 401k, whose retirement is linked to the market, is better off. Half of all households own stock directly or indirectly via mutual funds, trusts, or pension accounts. Americans benefits from a rising stock market. All pensions (teachers, firemen, etc) are dependent on a growing stock market, where do you think their retirement money is invested. Even if there is a correction mid year, the market will close on December 31 higher than it opened on Jan 1. Everyone should take a moment to be happy about what's happening instead of harboring such hate. I hope you aren't letting mass media form your opinions for you, or letting them do all your critical thinking. EDIT: Want to add that, I believe, if you give people $10mm and tell them to turn it into $10bn, 99% of them lose it all within a year.

@Jimmy's Dragon Suit thanks for your input. I didn't strike the first time and am again contemplating purchasing the road case with the entire catalog. If anyone has had first hand experience with the 45rpm LPs I'd greatly appreciate any opinions on what you heard. In particular, the idea of having the original '76 No Quarter in a better sounding light is a tantalizing proposition. Is the sound truly different from everything else?
