  1. Ive seen Buddy a couple of times and mostly he seemed really out of it and kind of all over the place. It was sad to see. When he played, he still had it but there wasn't a lot of that happening.
  2. I don't think he plays even around the house to be honest. Sadly
  3. 100% agree with this. I didn't see the concert live and I know being there is a whole different thing than watching it in the movie theatre or a DVD but I wasn't blown away. I think you said it well that Page did what needed to, but it was very calculated and didn't let loose. It'll never be what we think of Zep because Bonzo isn't there and that band was the success of all four parts. That and the fact that time has moved them on. Jonesy seems happy doing his opera and working with very eclectic bands. Robert is doing his thing and Page is focused on reissues.
  4. How is the picture showing he doesn't give a shit? He's holding the book in front of a kebab shop. I wouldn't read into it.
  5. Yes he does. Not sure the age difference but I'm guessing around 9-10 years or so.
  6. He used to have a house in Primrose Hill though I think he primarily resides in the Midlands.
  7. I've not heard any of that but it's good to know.
  8. He;s said many nice things about Zep, Page and Jones over the years. I've not heard Page or Jones say anything about Robert complimentary though. I think you are reading too into his comments - his sense of humor is what it is and often pulled out to deflect having yet more discussions on Zep when he's being interviewed based on a new release.
  9. I don't think it was a matter of he "had" to choose suicide. For those suffering from depression, sometimes the pain runs so deep they don't see any other way to get peace then to end their life. It's a horrific place to be in for those who have it and those around them. I don't know what it will take or how many more lives have to be lost before more research is put into finding a way to treat it.
  10. I know he was working hard to get more exposure and all, and the great fortune was having Jimmy see him and bring him into the mix. My point was more that he doesn't OWE Jimmy anything. Jimmy didn't "make" him. Robert had a huge amount of natural talent and that blended and worked amazing with Jimmy and of course John Paul and Bonzo. He has been very kind in his words to Jimmy over the years, particularly in the early days when Jimmy was more active with his own solo career. I can't say I've ever heard Jimmy say anything about Robert's music, regardless, Robert has shown gratitude for being a part of Zep, but that ended in 1980 and he made a choice to leave the memories and the music there and carry forward.
  11. Why does he owe Jimmy anything? He was just as valuable a member of making Zep a success as ALL OF THEM. His talent would not have gone unnoticed if Jimmy hadn't gone to see him.
  12. Jimmy goes without saying, especially as he was already well known. I think John Paul Jones would have been successful as a musician, even if it was more of a niche fan base. Way too much talent not to be. Robert's voice was too amazing that had Jimmy not gotten him, someone would have and I think he'd have been well known. Bonzo it would have depended on where he ended up - not a reflection of his talent but just being much less known at the time. Though I would imagine Robert would have wanted to bring him on board where he would have been, like he did with Zep.
  13. Robert doesn't owe anyone anything, and neither does Jimmy or John Paul. They are free to do as they choose and it's not up to us to demand what WE want for THEIR lives.
  14. Totally disagree. His sense of humor can come across as he's dissing the band but it's more to ward off constant questions about his past when he's rooted in the present, especially when promoting a new album. He's very proud of his work with Zep and I don't get any sense of negative feelings about it from him at all. I think when Bonzo died and they ended their time together, the only way for him to carry on was to start with a clean slate and put the past aside. He wasn't ever going to be the level he was with Zep but I think he was fine with that and just decided to experiment and in the spirit of Zep, push the creative envelope. Didn't always work but it didn't always work with Zep either. It's a huge albatross for people who achieve that level of stardom to try to start a new chapter for whatever the reasons are and we can't really understand the pressure and all they must feel. As far as it being annoying not to have seen them, well it's a bummer for sure, but if you saw them now, it wouldn't be Zep because Bonzo isn't there. Jason is a good drummer but he's not his dad and I'm not talking about talent per say but how he approached his playing, writing songs etc. Jason couldn't be that which is fine as he should be his own person, but if they did get back together (and think of the criticisms from the 02 show), people would complain about that too.
  15. Indeed. He was a great addition to Mash - played well off Alda et al.
  16. Your source unnamed and no pics or concrete proof - how do you expect us to believe you?
  17. I know! Some of them don't even remotely look like him!
  18. Yes! It was capturing a moment in time. Although a bit cheesy perhaps, I like them as they represent bits about each of the four of them aside from being musicians.
  19. He's been working on a new album with SSS so I don't think retirement is in the near future. He seems to have too much passion for music to give it up but I could see him touring less or maybe not recording anymore down the line.
  20. Logan was born in January 1979 and I believe his marriage was dissolved in 1982
  21. The news section has current information on what the guys are doing but here's the link: http://forums.ledzeppelin.com/index.php?/topic/24340-robert-plant-to-perform-with-violinist-nigel-kennedy-at-the-royal-albert-hall-on-march-14/
  22. He's been recording a new record with SSS - I would assume that's what he's referring to
  23. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I would agree with you, particularly about him doing his own material.
  24. I don't expect anything from any of them. It's a little sad Jimmy hasn't done anything new and keeps "promising" he's working on stuff but he owes us nothing. Jimmy did a whole tour of Zep stuff with the Black Crowns. That's fine - it's his music as it is Robert's and John Paul's so again, I've no problem with any of the including it in their own shows.
