  1. Wow. Being the sound quality snob that I am, I totally underestimated 6/22/77 and 6/26/77. They're not bad recordings at all. If you can hear the high hat, vocals, bass drum, guitar, bass... I mean you're good to go.
  2. Fun fact: Jonesy plays the Hammond for the last time (to my knowledge) in San Diego 6/19/77. Not the best gig, Jimmy and Bonzo either just woke up or hadn't slept in a week, or luudes... Still a hot show, Plants voice is awesome.
  3. 3/21/70 3/7/70 8/31/71 9/29/71 HTWWW 2/14/75 surprises me how good it is every time, I honestly think 3/21's version won't be as good, soundboard vs soundboard Lots of '77 versions are good of this song, my favorites are the landover versions or the LA runs SIBLYS. They pulled off great SIBLYs at all 4 1979 gigs. Must haves. edit: my favorite SIBLY is probably the 5/30/77 version, switching to the 5/22/77 version at the beginning of Jimmy's solo. Just not to be technical.
  4. Dudes dudes dudes. I had no idea John Bonhams stainless '77 kit was reproduced by Ludwig. If I ever buy another kit thats gonna be the one. I'll find one, somehow, someway! cool as fuck
  5. Easily one of my top 5 No Quarters. And the best one I have on video, unless a more complete version of 7/27-29/73 comes out (with more footage and less fantasy scenes). Isn't it just so perfect for the last live version? So fitting with that unique groove they do, unique to this version.
  6. We have video of the legend Freezer that kicks ass, but nothing of Mike Millard. Sucks. Speaking of:
  7. This guy came up on google, I was curious too. Looks like that guy, but the dates are way wrong, lol.
  8. so... any word on the content of Sonic Boom? The soundboard and the stereo/2 track mix have already been out there for a while, and considering there was no hype behind it it's probably not an upgrade, but who knows? I'd love a version of Hampton '71 that was on par with Orlando '71 and the Black Dog from 9/28/71, with clearer drums and hi hat etc. My two cents... If it is a site dedicated to Zeppelin's live and bootleg recordings, chances are I like it. That site has more info on Sonic Boom than this site has.
  9. 3/12/75 and 3/21/75. Starting to lean towards 3/21 as my favorite from 1975. Wow. You know they're having a great night when they bust out a Since I've Been Loving You. See 2/14/75 or 3/27/75. They're playing really well and they know it! Its not like breaking out the occasional Heartbreaker on a GOOD night. They bust out both on 3/21.
  10. The one with Jimmy up front and Robert throwing the hair back like a G, devil horns style. Thx again.
  11. Awesomeness thanks. Looked like an F-ing evening! And that had to be one of the best acoustic sets ever. Can't have Zeppelin without an acoustic set IMO. What defines Zeppelin, especially in a gig, better than electric acoustic then electric. Well, you can, just won't see the best band ever. Only the 2nd best, Zep without acoustic set.
  12. So this is truly amazing, thank you. Nowhere to be found on my days on the internet have I seen ANY photos of Zeppelin in Perth '72. A real first. There is also the rumor that a soundboard or radio broadcast recording was made, but was either not broadcast, or plan was cancelled before the show. Do you remember seeing an abundance of mics on stage during the show? Been a long time, but this tour is what I argue to be Zeppelin at their absolute best, technically especially. Before the days of "the visual show", Zeppelin at their peak was all about sound. See HTWWW for an example of what Zeppelin likely sounded like in Perth, or better yet, there are some great recordings from the same tour Down Under '72 that you HAVE to give a listen.
  13. I'm thinking 3/12/75 lately. On soundboard I find 2/28/75 really good. Same with 5/30/77. Lots of great ones on the Mike Millard recordings from LA, unfortunately he was late to the 3/12/75 gig and only caught the encore. Fortunately there was another taper there who caught most of the show in good quality. I wonder what Mike Millard thought when/if he heard the 3/12 show he missed? Probably was pissed he missed arguably their best show in '75 up to that point or in '75 as a whole! Original TSRTS soundtrack is epic. Such a shame they cut out the best part on the new CD release! UGHHH wtf were they thinking.
  14. The best TSRTS from 75 is on the new soundboard, Fort Worth I believe EPIC! Edit: maybe its the best because Jimmy used his LES PAUL
  15. 5/30/77 is my favorite, and I've listened to all of the versions with decent sound quality. Some from the LA '77 and NYC '77 run come close, but that is the best to my ears. Power and looseness, healthy mix of both. Not bad eh? Bonus points for changing their sound from the '73 and '75 norm. Was a great sound but was getting old. The version I have seems to have more bottom than that, idk, maybe its youtube
  16. I'd just like to say thanks to all here for their time and content. A great thing to follow. The audio/visual samples are inspiring as well.
  17. Yep. Not that I had it then, was born a year before that timeline, but I went looking for it just to see if it sounded as good as the other mono versions, and eventually found most of it. I remember asking about it at the hotel... To quote Presence: "umm... why?" Have to admit it doesn't sound as good as the other versions that are now out there. Not to me at least. Sounds a little muddier. Besides, the bass sounds like its being played through a broken speaker turned up to 11. Its on youtube btw, Hampton '71 stereo or something like that as the title
  18. Little off topic but Orlando is much better than Hampton '71, on the latter the hi-hat is completely inaudible. They're what I call "excellent-, very good+" soundboard
  19. Many times I've considered this to be Jimmy's best live solo, a balls to the wall simple chord progression but blistering solo anyways, and could listen to the Orlando '71 Thank You over and over. Its like someone told him "you suck!" before they started the song. Haha Jimmy definitely proved he could burn through the Thank You solo like nobody's business in early years, making it less like Can't You See and more like Dear Mr. Fantasy, or something along those lines.
  20. Beautiful. Better sound than HTWWW to me. PM me if you want link to Dancing Days and What Is and What Should Never Be from 6/27/72
  21. Heres What Is and Dancing Days. Might be deleted if I'm violating any site policies. But FWIW. http://starship.jpn.ph/zeppelin/beauty/disp/boot.jsp?R_idx=229 "No more firecrackers!"
  22. No, when I say I speculate that the Disc 2 of leaked raw multi tracks make up what circulates (sounds almost as good as HTWWW but is raw and has not edits or cuts) it is Dancing Days, What Is and What Should Never Be, and Moby Dick, and it sounds better to these ears than HTWWW. Sounds more like a soundboard of a modern day band. Its out there. Cough starship black beauty's site. Was on a bootleg studio sessions release or something like that. So it implies the rest could be hoarded, hopefully the band releases it before they do!
  23. And the Thank You from Orlando '71 has always been my favorite. Since you brought it up.
