  1. It’s just a bit of a shame. All that money on a big box set like this, which undoubtedly looks great….when, in all probability, we will see EV release the full 929 soundboard within a couple of years (they released the ‘Please Please Me’ teaser). Won’t that mean that this box set becomes outdated pretty soon? I’m not knocking those that buy this, but it’s frigging expensive, and may not be the full and final polished article. I guess if future upgrades come out, I’d feel massively jibbed. That’s why I’m not tempted. I just feel the piecemeal release of what we have of 929 (e.g single release of ‘Friends’) was a massive exploitation of customers, when there is certainly more to come. Oh, and I have bought boots.
  2. Why put Japan and Denmark together? Bit random
  3. Tangerine is played in standard tuning, but That’s the Way is in an alternative tuning. That’s why Tangerine will take so long. If you listen to Blueberry Hill, it takes a while for Jimmy to change the tuning between That’s the Way and Bron-yr-Aur. Plant talks while he’s doing it.
  4. Hi all, Any boots emerged of this performance? Thanks Neil
  5. Hi mate. I’ve only got the SBD version of this show. Very dry. But if you have a matrix, I’d love to hear it. Even if you only gave me TYG (my favourite Zep song).
  6. Try as I might, I have just never been able to get into The Who
  7. I think humour and sarcasm is the only thing he has to deflect interviewers from the fact he doesn’t want to talk about a period in which he lost his son and best mate.
  8. Completely agree -1998….except for the gig I saw him at. Dreadful! Must have been pissed. Big let down
  9. Can’t see it. He’s such a perfectionist, I don’t think he could bear having the unedited versions out there.
  10. So…are we due another SBD release? Speculation on what it might be?
  11. Good luck mate. I’m back from Oz on the 11th, so I hope it settles down
  12. Yes please Steve. BTW - the Page and Plant gig you did was terrific. Thanks for your work.
  13. A link would be great thanks Steve. I’ve heard this bootleg before, so if you have the full thing (including the unmastered bits) that would be great. thanks mate
  14. Hey guys, If anyone has 'Intimidating Divinity', I'd really appreciate a link. I'm unable to download it from the JRK Remasters blogspot. Hope you're all keeping safe and having a great Christmas. If you're anal about where shit should be posted, then stop reading now. This is my Christmas message to the good people I've met on this forum. I can honestly say that today is the first day I have truly relaxed 'guilt free' all year. The kids are happy, they're getting older and have their friends around (my boys are 9 and 11)....the weather is good in Western Australia and we are lucky enough to have a pool....I have plenty of shit to do, but it can wait. I even had a kip at lunchtime...in bed....for an hour and a half. And Mrs B is very happy pottering around. @chillumpuffer, I was watching the cricket and I drifted off - it's 43 degrees here today and the air con is struggling Very Very disappointed that England are now 17/2 in their second innings. If I was a bowler, I'd be tearing the batsmen a new arsehole. Even more disappointed they didn't let the test match in Perth go ahead. My dad was over the last time that happened. I can honestly say it was one of the funniest experiences of both of our lives....the barmy army were in terrific form. Anyway, my kids are showing signs of getting into decent music. I've had a gutful of Ed Sheeran, but at least he plays guitar. Oh, and they love the occasional Zep song, and a lot of the Kinks. Especially Lola. I've taken that as an opportunity to explain all manner of stuff to them - sexuality, cross dressing, transgender etc etc. It was pretty awkard (me more than them), so for further information I've referred them to my Lou Reed and Velvet Underground record collection. I'm in the 'Man Cave' (usually 'Kids Cave') - and I'm just listening to a cassette tape copy I did of my vinyl of JP and the Black Crowes at the Greek....on my vintage Sony system. Yeah sure, the tape doesn't sound as good as the vinyl (which I could play at any time - Dad from 1985 - "you don't want to play the record Neil - get blank tapes and wear them out, not the LP"). It's a nostalgia trip...back to my teenage years. Couple of glasses of red wine to boot. I'm feeling good. And sentimental. Can you tell? So yeah. I'm over-sharing, but there you go. Happy Christmas and New Year to my friends on the forum. Thanks for all you do for the Zep community @rm2551 @chillumpuffer @duckman @ZepHead315 @hummingbird69 @SteveZ98. You are all very generous people. I listen to a lot of the shit you have done or have shared on bike rides to and from work...or even on my weekend rides. It's enriched my life. Have a good 2022. Neil
  15. Happy Christmas all. Stinking frigging hot here. 43 degrees in Perth today (Boxing Day). This was taken yesterday. Pretty cool family Christmas photo if you ask me! See what you can do with this @SteveAJones
  16. Seattle is my favourite of the year. Very gloomy and ominous
  17. I agree. There was speculation a few years ago that he was working on a Japan ‘71 release, but cracked it when the SBD bootleg emerged. All conjecture and hearsay mind.
