A friend of mine us trying to get me and him wristbands to SXSW, so if he does, I'm going to go to see Sons of Albion, logan plants band, in his US debut. Hopefully we'll get those.

I'll be next to go through one of those. I have a doc appt in the am, and they are setting me up for an MRI on my knees,
as for what made me happy today....I got a lot done! and my kitties kept me entertained.

i'm going to hob-knob with friends around SXSW...see what kinda shows i can get into for free.
i dont know what my next show though will be...Aerosmith this summer for sure.

I just watched The Duchess. I liked it a lot--it was sad, but intriguing. Kiera Knightley did a great job, as did Ralph Fiennes. In fact, I hated Fiennes, and I muttered a few insults under my breath, LOL.
I loved it, saw it in theaters, reading the book now. Movie of course cant fit in everything and left a lot out

If you are going to get a cat, make sure its a kitten and you raise it the way you want to. There habits are formed very early and are tough to break later. By the way, my daughter lives in NY and is your exact age. Just thought id mention it She is in Marketing. Good luck with your pet search. I love cats and dogs both, but cats are easier because you can go away for a couple of days and not have to worry.
Oops, yes, I meant 2008...
I have a cat in Texas living with my mom that I would love to have back, but I would hate to uproot him now that he is settled. I raised him but had to leave him home when I moved to NY.
I'm leaving NY though, I could never have a dog here. I don't like little shit dogs and having a bigger dog with no yard is just wrong IMO.
These are my babies back home. Another resolution, to see them more!!

For most of 2007 and all of 2009, I've gone without pets....and been MISERABLE. Never in my life have I gone so long without puppies and/or kitties. So in 2009, PETS!!

Went to see Appaloosa a few days ago. It wasn't bad. Wasn't that good either.
Renee Zelleweger annoys me and Ed Harris' character isn't such the badass I hoped he would be.
Some of the music score didn't fit in my opinion.
It's slightly unconventional for a western, but it's decent. I'd suggest the matinée if you want to see it in theaters.

A Mexican, an Arab, and a Texas girl are in the same bar.
When the Mexican finishes his beer, he throws his glass in the air, pulls out his pistol, and shoots the glass to pieces. He says, 'In Mexico , our glasses are so cheap we don't need to drink with the same one twice.'
The Arab, obviously impressed by this, drinks his beer, throws it into the air, pulls out his AK-47, and shoots the glass to pieces. He says, 'In the Arab World, we have so much sand to make glasses that we don't need to drink with the same one twice either.'
The Texas girl, cool as a cucumber, picks up her beer, downs it in one gulp, throws the glass into the air, whips out her 45, and shoots the Mexican and the Arab. Catching her glass, setting it on the bar, and calling for a refill, she says,
'In America we have so many illegal aliens that we don't have to drink with the same ones twice.'

I just read a short story by Gene Wilder called "My French Whore"
Was enjoyable and a fast easy read. He describes emotions well, what the character is feeling in a certain moment of revelation...I found myself saying "Exactly!!" in my head a few times.
It's not even into great detail, its just makes sense and is to the point.
Next onto another Gene Wilder book called "The Woman Who Wouldn't"
After this next one, onto another author cause that is all that Gene Wilder has at the moment, besides a memoir.

I saw The Happening earlier. Weird as hell.
Tell me more! Is it as bad as the reviews say?
Im interested in seeing it, out of sheer curiosity, but not sure I want to spend 12 bucks to do so.

Parts of Forgetting Sarah Marshall were okay. But I thought it was completely overrated. Nothing I'd see again, that's for certain.
I want to see The Strangers. Doesn't have the best reviews, but I'm curious anyway.
