  1. Agree. It's amazing how well Page plays, considering how BAD he looks at the start of TSRTS. He looks like a dead fish.
  2. Anyone ever buy anything from Jason Cornthwaite from Tracks Ltd, in Lancashire?
  3. I just grabbed this from RO.  Thanks so much!

  4. Yep. I caught it too. Doesn't flub a fill, just comes in one verse too soon.
  5. I think he put his last fill one verse too soon. The big bass/snare fill right after "And if you listen very hard" Is that it George?
  6. Speaking of Bonham... damn his drums sound nice on this. Especially his snare. Absolutely loving it. Just wish we had Celebration Day, darn it.
  7. Every time I think about this missed opportunity I shed a tear.
  8. And just listen to Providence! Oh my. I think that's my favorite version... for this hour, at least. Just listen to Plant during Bonzo's big fill to start the rock section. Holy fuck. Spine tingling. ha! Phenomenal song.
  9. Bonzo throws in some of his best fills and drum work when this song kicks off in the rock section. And I just can't ever get enough of his use of his tymp blasts in this song. Love Seattle 73. Bonzo's performance probably makes this one my favorite version.
  10. I found it and read it all last night! Had to jam out to 6/21/77 on my way into work this morning, at Freakishly high volume! You are one lucky SOB. Let me tell you.... I didn't fall asleep until almost 2:00 am cuz I couldn't get the thought of being at those 77 Forum shows out of my head. Just incredible.
  11. I had read your San Fran and Bonzo’s Birthday Party write ups on the timeline a couple yrs ago. This is the first I’ve read of Three Days After. Had to throw the show on in my office while I was reading. The crowd’s energy before Bonzo kicks off the start of RnR is simply incredible. A complete SBD of this show would be surreal. Can you direct me to your write up of 6/21/77??
  12. That's one of the greatest things I've ever read. Thanks Strider!! Incredible!
  13. Bonzo's SO INCREDIBLY GOOD it masks a lot of the other issues with the show. One of his all time great shows. He literally NAILS EVERYTHING. He accuracy, speed and energy were just amazing.
  14. Gosh dangit! This is it. I want this in pro quality so badly I lose sleep at nights. Edit out the :30 of Jimmy sucking on his hair and give it to us, DAMNIT! This and TUF from this same show. Both brutal, EPIC versions.
  15. I certainly believe so. Page, Bonham and Jones are pretty solid. This is probably the most painful listen, as far as Robert's voice goes. Just brutal. Really makes you wonder why they performed CB as an encore!
  16. 72 Japan just might be my least favorite tour they ever did. Just seem to lack the hunger from earlier tours and the energy/nastiness of later tours.
  17. Very strange Bonham show (indeed), but TUF from that night has always been my favorite. And the mood of NQ fits Bonham's mood from that night to a T. Both are very sluggish, but the results are great (for NQ). He really picks things up nicely for TUF and then chases Jimmy around brilliantly in my all-time favorite STH. Jimmy really needs to cobble the best parts of the 24th and 25th together to form a complete show. Would be an absolute monster live release.
  18. This show has been dogged for years. Just don't get all the hate it has gotten. Sure, it's not 1973 Jimmy, but whatever fluency he lacked that night (year) Bonzo more than made up for with his playing. His (Bonzo's) performance alone puts this in my top 10 all time Zep Boots.
  19. May 16, 1973 - Houston. Happy 45th Anniversary! Killer May 73 show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgYWWN2z-U8
  20. The Bonzo's Bday Party show, to me, is a bit over-rated. Never fell in love with that show. The 2nd LA show, however is KILLER! It's an absolute gem and maybe the best of the entire US 73 run. I WANT THAT SBD!The SD show from the 28th, is just too sloppy for me. Time to re-listen to it to see if I'm remembering this right... Maybe it's all the guitar drop outs... sheesh. Didn't realize there were so many. That would give an impression of "sloppy" playing. Maybe not the case tho. Scorching thru RnR and CD so far.
  21. Yep. Agree. May 1973 is just flawless (expect for San Diego, which is just odd as hell to me!)
