  1. Over Under Sideways Down is my guess based on how Jimmy and Chris are shouting Hey! into the microphone.
  2. Perhaps one exists, but as yet none has surfaced.
  3. Yes seems In the Light has since been removed from Sky's schedule. "In the Light" is listed in IMDB as a 4 part miniseries from 2008 about the band. Perhaps rescheduled for later broadcast.
  4. Led Zeppelin: In the Light Series 1 Episode 1: Led Zeppelin: In The Light 1 Featuring extensive interviews and rare recordings of their performances, this is the definitive critical review of legendary English rock band Led Zeppelin. 5. Oh if Laurie Anderson and JPJ could find themselves on stage together, who knows what they might conjure!
  6. Definitely make UP my dying bed. It's a title by Blind Willie Johnson about 90 years ago.

  9. Well done as always, GFan. The tech issues musta been why Stairway was delayed til later in the show. Round this time Stairway was played prior to the acoustic set.
  10. I'll just add "Thanks for asking us back" would also fit Texas. They were in Texas a few weeks prior and it didn't go well. They were pleased the return was a positive experience, and Plant thanked the audience more than once throughout the show. Irvine is a tenuous theory imo.
  11. OK I'm with you. And that one has the intro as well. So are we to believe Plant's voice was that different only 5 days after Winterland? And during the intro he says "Thanks for asking us back." They'd never been to Irvine before. Only LA and San Francisco (in California) to that point. I'd question Irvine as the venue.
  12. Any guesses? Could it be a lost encore from Texas Pop? Slightly flat soundboard? Check. Plant's voice ripped to shreds? Check. A fitting end to the summer tour? It fits. I think I've compared this to all the known versions of WLL from April to August 69. Doesn't seem to match any. Hmmm. Do we have something here?

Inside Peter Whitehead’s Filming of Led Zeppelin in 1970 And The 52-Year Journey To Its Release https://ledzepnews.com/2023/07/28/inside-peter-whiteheads-filming-of-led-zeppelin-in-1970-and-the-52-year-journey-to-its-release/?fbclid=IwAR0DB0dFaWAsfKCFWwHveem9pyyNh3cxbFqBAHRq9wyKlGqdXREn4bmn550
  14. Perhaps the reference to Purple's US debut was the reconfigured band, but Chris relates the story in The Yacht Rock Book by Greg Prato; the tale has been retold in many an article since. Jon Lord denied the story perhaps because he favored skipping the gig that night but was overruled. The San Antonio gig was 28 Aug 70
  15. The following summer, Deep Purple made their US debut in San Antonio. Ritchie Blackmoore fell ill. The band didn't want to cancel their American debut. Enter Chris Geppart - later known as Christopher Cross - on lead guitar for one night. True story.
  16. "Were supposed to" Seems rather a hope. A sound plan but failure to secure Plant's and JPJ's commitment adds up to more than a minor oversight.
  17. Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Zach Eflin has a nickname that fits perfectly here.
  18. It's this Saturday. Celebrating the 75th Birthday of John Henry Bonham in Redditch town centre on Saturday 27th May 2023 with a day/evening of live blues/rock music from top artists and bands. 19. We could all use one of those in our brains, right? A search function!! 😄
  20. Zepter sponsors the Srpska Open tennis tournament in Bosnia.
  21. I find it fascinating listening to Page-era Yardbirds. Many pieces of the 68-69 Zeppelin live set came directly from latter day Yardbirds. As for touring, Jimmy and Peter Grant certainly brought a great deal of savviness into Zeppelin seeing as the other 3 hadn't traveled much if at all. Cassandra Peterson aka Elvira Mistress of the Dark told a story of meeting Jimmy during a Yardbirds tour when she would have been high school age. It's near the current end of the Yardbirds thread which you may also find interesting.
  22. The photo I posted is also from Chicago. I'm no guitar techie but there was the wah effect, the delay - handy for Wanton Song - and fuzz I believe.
