  1. I believe Plant77 response is pretty spot on to answer your question. However I would add the southern border, the northern border, neither are open, that is a red herring argument. A truthful question would be am I in favor of legal immigration, and / or immigration for asylum seekers and the answer to both is yes. All those Central American countries of which people are coming from are a result of failed US policy from the 80's. We caused the problems there and now you wonder why its happening? If someone came and turned your country into a narco state what would you do? Let the cartels murder you and your family? Up until 1882 and the Chinese Exclusion Act there were no laws for immigration and anyone could come to the US, anytime over both southern & northern borders. Then in 1921 there was the Immigration Act of 1921 which barred immigration from all Eastern European countries. See a pattern? Every single immigration law on the books has nothing to do with actual immigration and everything with excluding certain groups deemed "undesirable." Electric cars. I do not know how old you are but back in the late 70's people freaked out over the removal of lead in the gas saying, "we won't be able to drive our cars, no lead will destroy the engine." Guess what, those cars ran fine without the lead. No one will be forced to buy an electric car, that is absurd thinking. Regarding trans athletes, I simply do not know enough about the subject to render an informed opinion. Again, as if my OG post was not clear enough, social liberalism to me means minding your own damn business in regard to how others live their life. Just as you don't want the "state" forcing you to get a vasectomy or have your balls cut off for not paying child support, the state should have zero say in what a woman or anyone else does with their body. That is what is so hypocritical about the right. The right claims it is against big government and then passes laws to regulate human behavior. If that is not the definition of hypocrisy then there is no such thing.
  2. Just YouTube those baby's! Pretty much all Zep boots are available on YouTube now and you can listen for free...Bonus! No need to buy. I have not bought a boot in years as I just YouTube it and feed it to the stereo. Anything by LedZepBoots is almost guaranteed to be good and there are other sources as well on YT. An example of a middling quality would be Copenhagen 71' (and I listen to this all the time because the quality is good enough and the performance is stellar) and a good quality are most of the 75' - 77' boots. There are several boots from 72'-80' which are excellent quality and more and more come out which are official release quality. Anything by Mike Millard is pretty close to official release quality as are most of the hybrids (combo of audience & soundboard recordings).
  3. Word! Sounds about right to me. Another issue is the whole system is broken, horribly broken. Any decent person who rises to power cannot get anything done because of all the graft in the system. The corruption is so deep and so entrenched I really don't know if we will ever get real, positive change. Like you I am socially liberal and fiscally conservative. There should be a law that the US must have a balanced budget. Gerrymandering, lobbyists, political "contributions" etc. must be outlawed. SCOTUS must have a 10 year limit then out. Term limits on all elected officials. Most importantly, if an elected official is found guilty of breaking the trust of the American people, of breaking any serious law, they should get life in prison without the possibility of parole. Liberal or conservative, its mostly bullshit. All of these politicians who claim to "hate" the other side are the same ones hanging out and partying with them as soon as the cameras are off. It really is all a show for the most part. IMO, I have no right to tell another person what they can or cannot do as long as they are not hurting anyone and nor should the govt. I have no right to talk to, much less demand what a woman can or cannot do with her body. Who cares if gay people want to marry, if they want to be as miserable as straight people god bless em. Someone wants to identify as trans, or a fish, or whatever, why would anyone else care? It affects nothing. This is the nonsense I cannot understand. Why do people care what other people are doing or how they wish to live their lives? There are almost 8 billion people on Earth, if a woman wishes to terminate a pregnancy that's up to her, its not like we need any more people on this rock.
  4. I have enough problems as it is, I would prefer the Head Master thank you very much. Oh Myyyyyyyy 😉
  5. I know, right? All respect to Taylor Hawkins and the band in general as the sum of their parts is greater than the whole IMO. Foo Fighters music is just really boring IMO.
  6. Dude, that is so outrageously dumb and false, I now have to have a bowel movement. So, kinda thanks as everyone needs a good poo to keep things moving, but, ouch! That comment was head injury TBI level stupid. 🤪
  7. In my thoughts, in an alternate history where Bonzo lived, I could have seen him moving toward jazz drumming. I believe had Bonham lived Zep would have lasted maybe another year but most likely would have called it quits in 81' right after the final leg of the proposed NA tour. Robert was done, Bonzo was done. I think he would have taken time to be with his family then after a few years get back into the scene but not as a rock drummer, but rather a jazz drummer. He loved jazz, funk, and soul and I truly think this would have been the direction he would have gone, a hybrid of Neal Peart, Stuart Copeland, and Gene Krupa possibly. I also did not see Bonzo touring again but rather playing almost exclusively on record as a studio musician or in his own jazz / funk band, putzing around the midlands for a gig here and there. But touring, very unlikely, he loved his family and that is really where he wanted to be.
  8. Damn...Ouch 🙂 Seriously though, they are billionaires, I'm sure she can afford a wig made from the suffering of us peasants if she wishes. Tina Turner has been bald since 1962 when a hair straightening session went horribly wrong. You don't see her complaining, she wears a wig and laughs all the way to the bank.
  9. Yes, I do believe we have been visited in the past going back tens of thousands of years. I also believe we currently are being visited as well. I am sure the adults in our galaxy are making sure the delinquent kids in the galactic kindergarten known as Earth have not burned the place down yet. Regarding any actual interaction with our or other governments or any organization, I highly doubt that as at this point we likely barely rate as a curiosity and very unlikely we rate as a species they wish to openly communicate with.
  10. Star Trek uses deflectors to prevent space debris from impacting the craft. In principal, if we could generate enough power for a workable warp field, power for a deflector would be easy. Theoretical warp drive does have one very major drawback, or feature depending on perspective. The power produced by this warp field is so massive that as soon as the ship leaves the warp field, the energy would theoretically continue through space and destroy anything it encountered including a planet. So, kinda bad. Another interesting event...Supposedly, they tried to use the nuclear fuel core of the Galileo probe to ignite Jupiter's atmosphere and create a second sun. This resulted in a portion of Jupiter's atmosphere igniting and creating a large, black-grey spot the size of Earth which lasted for about a month before dissipating. They supposedly tried again with Huygens probe and Saturn but nothing happened there likely due to the lower pressures compared to Jupiter. Had they succeeded in igniting Jupiter and creating a second sun the shock wave would have obliterated all life on Earth. If Saturn would have ignited and become a second sun it would have killed off 80% of life on Earth. I have no idea why they would have wanted this to happen under the circumstance so my guess is they never intentionally wanted to create a separate sun but just wanted to dispose of the spend probes and either did not realize doing so could create a runaway nuclear reaction resulting in the formation of a new sun, or, they believed the likelihood was slim. Either way, scary stuff.
  11. Possibly racial bias plays a role in some instances, however I believe the problems are several: poorly trained cops, cops who likely cannot pass a psych test but are cops anyway, cops on power trips, and the thin blue line in general. Many of these cops will beat or shoot anyone who dares question them about anything, that's the problem. Cops need to stop the us vs. them mentality, stop resorting to the use of a gun for the slightest provocation or danger, and stop acting as if they were the lord of the realm.
  12. Ah yes, Kobe...I hear they are devastatingly delicious 😉
  13. NOOOOOOOOO!!! Don't let the first couple of episodes fool you, it's a big setup. Starting with episode 3 it gets good again and arguably, better than the prior seasons. I think the overarching point of season 6 is that even someone who considers themselves to be an "ethical" billionaire is still a billionaire above all else and the drive to become a billionaire trumps everything. The plotlines, the sub plots, the actions are all top notch but I agree, I was about to turn it off when I thought, meh, I will watch episode 3 and if it still sucks I'm out. Trust me, the wokeness is gone after ep#2 and it appears it was used as a deliberate plot point. I really like Damien Lewis as an actor and was disappointed he left but the slow momentum which starts with Prince has him in full Lord of the Realm mode by ep#3. The really neat aspect is Prince is always controlled and open to new ideas which is a 180 from Damien Lewis character. Prince sees himself as a savior, a Cincinnatus for New York when in reality he is just another petty dictator in a line of petty dictators.
  14. I did not mention how the weather during the riot was quite pleasant either. Nor did I mention I was there in the thick of it as I was required to go to LA to pick up some equipment for my job at the time. Nor did I mention what an awesome year 1992 was for me in general. A person does not have to bring up everything you know. For the record though, the riot was disgusting and any involved who engaged in criminal activity should have been prosecuted. There, happy now? Whoop's, almost forgot. I also got take-out at the Eastside Italian Market & Deli. Meatball sandwich to be exact. BTW, I'm still waiting for my motherf*****g ice tea!!!! 🙂
  15. No argument from me King was a POS, however, even a POS deserves due process under the law. King was beaten excessively and was not a threat once he was on the ground. You see Steve, the law must apply to both the civilized and un-civilized in our society otherwise it really is not law at all. Just like better for 100 guilty men to go free than an innocent man be convicted. It was the out of control cops which divided the nation, not some idiot criminal who decided to run from the cops.
  16. Unkind posts? More like factual posts. Your cognitive dissonance is enough to rupture space-time Boy-O.
  17. Um, just see top of this page and end of last page for all the evidence you need. But, never you right???
  18. Looks like Mother Nature does not care about code. Whoops.
