Yeahhhhhh! Markie Post, she was a smoke show for sure, and Heather Thomas was as well. The 1980’s had some real sexy women, they didn’t worry about their pronouns and what to be referred to. I love reading and learning about young Robert Anthony Plants early years, the thought that Robert would’ve not become the singer he is without his support of the other 3 might be misleading. He had that voice and was fortunate to have landed with Page, Jones, and certainly John Henry. This along with Striders concert memories and SAJ threads on Mysteries are my absolute favorites and what gave me the confidence to join this fantastic forum with all of the wonderful people who have made this platform what it is. To all of you guys thanks for making this community so great.

I have given my opinion on what happened a few times, but simply, he did some damage from performing 2 and sometimes 3 shows a day/night, and more importantly, he learned how to sing after 72. He became a true singer and is still practicing his craft and we are all beyond lucky to have the recordings we have. As I said several times earlier, he could not have given the performances he gave on PG alone, 69-72 would not have been able to give us TUF, Kashmir, In the Light, Ten Years Gone, and a host of other performances, let alone I’m going to crawl on ITTOD, or any song off of Presence. In my opinion I’ll take that version over the earlier years any day of the week.

It’s amazing to throw some headphones on and listen to our band in all of their glory, I am reading The “Beast” currently and it is one of my favorite books about the band and JHB, but listening to early recordings really does let you know that they were truly as Jimmy says 4 master musicians, they were beyond fortunate to have JPJ, and JHB driving them along. With headphones this show really lets us know what those gentlemen were capable of doing on a decent or great night. We will never have anything like that again. Godbless this group of men and what they gave to us.

those are both good shows. I often get slightly melancholy listening to the last tour. I find myself putting way too much thought towards what they were all thinking and maybe should just realize they were a band playing music together that they loved, and making new music together with that same emotional connection. They were all probably excited about the coming decade and wanted to go out prove that they were still to be counted and considered.

+1 I feel very fortunate to have been able to see some of the shows throughout those amazing years. Able to get some boots of the shows and re-live it to some extent, why they didn’t release one or more years ago is slightly strange to me. I for some reason believe that after Robert parted ways, he was almost shedding that skin again and perhaps didn’t want to further the association or partnership and capitalize on the 5-6 years that he had just finished. All pointless speculation on my part, can’t help but think it was a missed opportunity regardless of whoever was not willing to allow it to happen. I suppose it’s possible that Jimmy and Robert simply never talked about putting anything out for those amazing shows. It was an amazing experience, and time and the memories of those shows are still fresh in my rapidly aging memory.

Those are awesome! They look legit to my eyes, there are some people on here who have a lot of experience with the boys signatures, but they look good to me. I hope that we get to continue seeing these guys for a long time. I would ask Steve A Jones or Strider their opinion on the JPJ ticket if you would like another option on it. Great post Paul. I do live in a sanctuary state, and city. It is easy for people who don’t live in these areas to talk shit and spout nonsense. I will tell you without a doubt, if the people who are speaking as if they know how it works in the cities that allow asylum citizens, and if those citizens stopped working at the hotels, restaurants, and any number of places our states would collapse.
