  1. Yeah man, the color is awesome! But it does look like JPJ had a C cup on the right hand side for sure. But, the colors are cool as it gets.
  2. Next time duck into that bar/pub. That is way too close to not have walked inside. Just kidding man, but rad choices! I appreciate them. Have a great night Sir.
  3. Thanks for the nomination my friend. I agree that Bonham saves those songs. But sometimes depending on my mood Presence will become my favorite album. I have been trying to get my daughter into all of their albums of course, but I routinely make her listen to ALS, live or in the studio. Have a great night. I really appreciate the post.
  4. I have been able to get that station when I was driving through that area. And you are right, they play great music in general. I have Satellite now, and while there are some great stations. They don’t play nearly enough Zeppelin on there. But, I can just hit Apple play and play them whenever I want. There is still something about hearing them come on without my decision to make them come on. Thanks for the reminder though. That was a cool station when my wife and I would drive through that area taking the boat out. Hope they are still around.
  5. Hey Hummingbird. I am calling a truce. You have your opinions, and I have mine. We both have no idea who each other are from some posts that we throw out there for whatever reason we throw them out. I respect your thoughts and opinions regardless if I agree with them or not. You are passionate about what you believe and think. I am good with that. I could spew a bunch of shit/statistics and throw in some articles. In the end it really doesn’t matter man. You have some very serious convictions. I do as well. We probably have more in common that you would think. As much as I would like to go back and forth with you on who is right or wrong. I am good with just trying to learn from others and not be someone who thinks that they are always right. I hope you and yours are good, I am not in the mood to verbally spar anymore. I would rather discuss the band that we are here for. I say that today, and I may read a post that you have thrown out there tomorrow and want to go on the offensive. But truly, unless we start trying to listen to one another, what the fuck does it matter. We can go to our tribal corners and not hear a word anyone is saying. That just doesn’t really interest me anymore. So, I respect your thoughts and feelings on your political beliefs. I really don’t care if you do for myself or others. Just as long as we are enjoying the forum and the band we love, we have that in common at the very least. Have a good night. Honestly, I didn’t read what you said to me because I know that I encouraged and wanted a reply. But at this point, I just want us all to be safe, healthy, and to move forward in a positive way. Hope to hear from you soon man. Have a good night. Also, as a side note, whether I support this admin or not does not mean that I believe that men can have babies. That’s like saying because you support Trump you think it is okay to grab women by the pussy. I could give several examples. You can support an ideology, or support a set of principles, but that doesn’t mean you support everything about the individual, or the party. I did read that part. Just wanted to answer that portion. Having said that, you and I both have real life problems that no party or political figure/figures are ever going to solve. They are not supposed to. That’s up to you and I.
  6. I can understand that. I just feel like you have always come up with some gem that we didn’t know, or maybe we had forgotten. Either way, I know it is a lot of work. Thanks for the threads/posts Steve. Lots of people here enjoy them, and I think we are getting new members that would like to have some information on the band. But again, I get that it is actual work coming up with it. I’m still holding out hope for Mr. Strider to give us his 72 memories. Not kissing anyone’s ass on this forum, but there are a group of you that I remember reading from the old board, and a bunch of you are still around. It’s cool for the younger generation to be able to soak up the information while you guys are still active on the forum. Thanks again.
  7. That is awesome Red. I am looking forward to hearing it. Please let me know what you put that out there man. I find it to be an inspiration. Keep at it my brother.
  8. I loved the back nine reference Steve. In my profession I have to remember all kinds of information all day everyday. I am finding it harder to remember verses just writing it down to make sure I don’t forget. I like to think as we get older our minds are full of more information and we have more to remember. I truly believe that. So to not let the inconsequential information go, we actually have to try and work on those memories. Thanks again for the info. I know for sure you have answered this many times, I thought that Robert was able to get his royalties back, or that he had to purchase them back. If I am mistaken and you have answered this many times I apologize. Have a great night Steve.
  9. I have been listening to his performance for a few days now. While I love/respect every member equally, it is amazing to see Plant out there actively working and pursuing his passion and dedication. I will say that I would love for him to do something acoustic with Page, but either way, just being able to watch and listen to him perform is incredible. This is a 75 year old man who is crushing it! God Bless him.
  10. That’s the best post I have read in weeks. You have a way with words my friend. You always make me laugh! Have a great night and week Steve. If I may, please post on your thread. The Zeppelin files and all of the knowledge and information you have is a real treasure. Not kissing ass, that is the first site/thread I look up after Striders concert files. Well, maybe it is 3rd after Nit Picking Page by our friend, and then Strider, and I really miss your posts on several topics you created. Have a great week Steve.
  11. Hey Red, I have not heard any music from you in a while, I played it for my wife and daughter, we were all really impressed with your last. Release for lack of a better word. I would love to hear some new music. I really think you should put it out on a few more sites. It is good man. It’s got a haunting feeling to it. It’s impressive for sure, have a great night, I hope to hear some new Red Music soon!
  12. Walter, this is a great post. I want to show respect and appreciation for everyone. But sometimes it is just insanely hard to do that when people just spew Fake Fox News who by the way just had to give 787 Million dollars because they have no journalistic integrity. The crazy thing is, I see people saying that The NY Times are bullshit, those same people have no idea that if they publish an incorrect article, they have fines and they also have to publish it in several publications. But, thank you for your post. That Hummer 69 character is just that. An ill informed jackass! It is unbelievable to me the shit I see these people spew. Thanks for you post. I appreciate it.
  13. Thank you for all the wonderful information Steve. If I am mistaken I apologize, but I thought the Esperanza label was before Shaken and Stirred. I thought that Album dropped in 85. I know that his 87/88 album Now and Zen was 2/88. He absolutely started playing Zeppelin after and or during that time. I am sorry, I am looking it up now and you are correct. The label and the management was absolutely in the timeline you explained above. Damn, you are good Sir. Please offend someone soon, I miss it. Thanks Steve. I appreciate your unbelievable knowledge of this band. It blows me away. People can feel like they are a Zeppelin fan, but they really need to read any number of your threads to realize that they/I have a lot to learn. Cheers Steve. Thanks again.
  14. Hello All, Mr. Chef Free may have mentioned this already, but our local SF station here in Northern Ca 107.7 the Bone still gets the Lead out. There was a 20 year period where they had some very good DJ’s that would actually play a couple of hours of Zeppelin every night. They would do it at 7:00pm and they started getting into Bootlegs. I would on occasion get a little upset as they would play shit bootlegs with shit sound from a shit show and I personally would get upset being as big of a Zeppelin fan as there could be, because I felt is was not representative of who they are and were. This is off topic, but I have been listening to early Bootlegs and albums, the Lemon Song, and Sitting and Thinking are just truly out of this world. If we want to hear this band at their height, all members getting into it, playing unbelievably complex, brilliant music. Throw on the Lemon Song. It is truly a masterpiece. I don’t care if Robert borrowed every blues lyrics that exist, Jimmy obviously was inspired by several blues standards, JPJ is out of his mind on that song, and JB is just in another class altogether. But that song is just as raw, as classic, and to me it is an example of what the best band in the world sounds like. I understand that it may not be their best song, I would argue that it is just a pure exercise of musicianship. All 4 of them are just beyond words or explanation. Cheers all. Have a great night.
  15. Hello All, okay, I just listened to 3 different Queen shows in a row. I’ll gladly post them for all. I want to say that I love Freddy M, I love all of their members. I also need to say that my wife and I watched 3 different shows where he had backing tracks on every song, and there were several times he did not sing at all and it was a backing track. I really hate to even point this out. I was also less than impressed with the guitar and what was produced or lack thereof on stage. We listened to Another One Bites the Dust on 3 different concerts. Man, how I am just learning that they had backing/lead vocals, and that the guitar was also synched. Again, I say this actually being blown away and just tripped out. I’m not knocking them, Freddy was incredible, on these 3 shows he was passable and had not only backing vocals, but straight lead vocals happening. You could barely hear him. I’ll post them, I really feel like an ass for bringing this up, I’m just surprised at the lack of musicianship that was on stage. I am talking Page on his worst night would not have had a backing track playing along with him, and the vocals were as blatant as any lip synced song I have ever seen. I might take a lot of shit for this, I will figure out how to post these shows tomorrow. I was just blown away by the lack of authenticity.
  16. Spot on! While Plant was a different singer/songwriter after 72, really in my opinion Page was a different producer and guitarist, John Paul was probably the one consistent musician, and John B was just out of this world on every track he ever played on. It is really incredible to think about the 4 of them collectively, and individually. The Townsend reference is so on point. I really think that all of the music/rock world was on the same page as that. Meaning, everyone knew that they couldn’t possibly compete with them. There were amazing bands and amazing musicians during that time, it just happened that the 4 best got together for that 12 year period and ruled the world. It is absolutely sad to me to think what could and would have been without the passing of that amazing man. They were all robbed of moving forward and beyond what they had done. I think and talk about it with my family all the time. To think of those guys after 1980 and moving into a new direction would have been incredible. Godbless them for the years we had. To this day, being 35 plus years into them, I am as devoted and impressed today as I was when I got my first tape/record and certainly by the time I purchased and or knew what a bootleg was. These guys were fucking amazing! Like not other. Just the absolute best that ever graced a stage or studio. It truly isn’t close. And I love a lot of bands. They were just playing in a different league and a different sport then everyone else. God they were bad! Just ferociously good. Have a great night. Be well. Cheers.
  17. That is Rad my friend. I also agree with you selections, and yes JB saves those songs for sure! What an amazing band to have found, and to have obsessed on. There couldn’t be another band that you would do this with. The power and the mystery alone is just incredible. Thank you for all your awesome posts and thoughts! It is cool to read and explore the nuances of the band through someone. You have a great weekend my friend. I am going through 1970 right now just to hear the power and glory. I will say, the 77, and 79 tour was amazing! They had reached and developed into another band. That is just the absolute incredible path that these 4 men took along with their amazing manager. I have to say that Plants lyrics are overlooked, by Houses of the Holy he was on another planet. When we get to PG and Presence and then ITTOD that man is an absolute beast lyrically. I would say that he is in his own category all by himself. But really because he was the Black Dog man, and the Whole Lotta Love man, he gets overlooked constantly. Thanks again, be well, I hope to hear from you soon Sir.
  18. Well said Sir, I am with you, I absolutely love that they were the biggest band in the world, and they were not available. It’s a point of pride, and I try to follow that in my own life in my own little world. Obviously, I am no JPJ, RP, JP, or JB. However, it is something that I have always been proud of. To have been the best selling, the best live band, the best frontman, the best lead guitarist, the absolute best musician in John Paul, and by far the best drummer ever, and to have not made themselves available or to have not bowed to the media or establishment. What an amazing achievement. Thank you for your post, I could not agree more.
  19. I agree with you completely. I truly think that his 75-80 voice was amazing and that he learned to sing. I believe that his 68-72 voice was just done on pure power and strength of his vocal cords. I absolutely think that after 72 he did have to adapt and learn how to project his voice and be within the best trio of all time. That had to be very daunting to say the least. When you have the worlds best guitarist and producer behind/next to you. When you have the worlds best musician in JPJ, and you have the worlds best drummer behind you, that has to be a very stressful and difficult task. I would say that Robert handled and excelled as no other could have. It is absolutely amazing to me that he was able to do what he did. I absolutely think he doesn’t get nearly enough credit for his song writing, and I also think it is easy for us to just simply say his voice after 72 wasn’t as good or didn’t match up to the band. I would argue that. I think he was always on par with what was going on inside of the band as was able to adapt and crush his circumstances. He absolutely had some terrible nights. But they all did. Or specifically everyone except JPJ. Thank you for your opinion and thoughts. It is cool to read what others think on this and or any subject regarding these Men. They were head and shoulders above everyone in my opinion. It isn’t even close.
  20. Hello Sir, man, that is tough. It depends if it is studio or live. And the truth is, there isn’t a song I don’t love/like. When I say I am consumed by this band, I truly mean that. I suppose there are a few songs that are not my favorite. But really I absolutely love all of their songs. I am really into their later years right now. But next month I might be into the early years which is what I was introduced too. I am really into PG, and Presence and ITTOD right now as far as studio, and for live material, I am obsessed with anything Montreux and anything that is in SF which were my first Bootlegs I purchased. However, their 77 run in NY and LA is mind blowing and I love to throw that on and make my daughter listen to it. Sorry if I have not answered this question. But I am into all of it, no matter the year, and no matter the circumstances that they were under. I appreciate and love all of it.
  21. I would like to add that Robert’s voice from 68-72 while powerful and amazing, there were also things that he was able to learn and do in later years that he would not have been capable of in his early years/most powerful voice. I will stress that his Physical Graffiti voice may be my personal favorite. The gritty vulnerability that he had was absolutely incredible and stunning. By the time we get to 77 his voice and his capabilities were very impressive. Maybe some won’t agree. That is fine. I would also like to point out that one of his best performances ever was the last song on the last studio album that they did. I’m gonna crawl is absolutely out of this world. Not only for Plant, but Page as well. But Ten Years Gone, In the Light, Trampled, Kashmir, and in my opinion every song off of Presence would not be what it was with the original voice. Again, it is okay to not agree or share that opinion. I would say as much as I love to listen to the shear power of 68-72 Plant, there are songs and performances from 73-80 that I absolutely prefer and appreciate just as much as the early years. For me, it shows the brilliance of Plant as a front man and a singer/performer, and I would rather have Earls Court in my time of dying over in other band and singer ever. As a matter of fact I think too much is made of his declining vocal performance. I could argue that others in the band declined just as much if not more. That’s not important to me. What is important, and what I believe to be true, is Robert in 73-2023 is just in a league of his own. He certainly went through phases that I could do without. But, he also had incredible performances in those years that I personally enjoy as much as any version of his work.
  22. Awesome! I really don’t have a problem with any of these choices. As a life long fan, as a person who purchased 100’s of Bootlegs and was lucky enough to see Page and Plant, Plant solo several times I am pumped to be able to go back over this list and check out your favorite versions and be able to create my own list. I will say, I appreciate your opinion and choice of songs and their versions, Thanks for the list. Great job, have a great weekend.
  23. Man, that is amazing to read, and amazing to hear/know. I’m 46ish and started diving into them at about 12. Certainly as I grew up and was able to learn more about them my appreciation/obsession grew. But to read what you posted, or what Mr. Strider has posted has just been an inspiration. I was able to have my Mother and Father tell me stories of seeing them in 69-70 and 71. But, while they were absolutely fans, they were not as consumed as I was. I bring that up because to hear someone that is a decade older than myself, someone who has been dedicated and devoted. It is awesome to read your perspective of their maturations and changes. Have a great night, it’s pretty incredible that we have the amount of people that are devoted and invested in this group of men. Thanks again.
  24. I’m not embarrassed at all. I know that you are for sure. Spouting your rude stupid thoughts on Covid and or any other topic. Mr. I give everyone Hummers. You are a child, a brainless child. I do know that you wouldn’t ever get tough with anyone, you wouldn’t challenge anyone. It’s easy to talk your stupid thoughts on this Forum and or Thread or other threads. But aside from a few people, we all know you are just the scumbag who says some provocative stuff. You don’t even know what it means. I’ll gladly pay for your plane ticket to my area, meat you for a beer, and then let you know what an absolute cry 😢 baby you are. Literally, I’ll pay for your plane ticket, come and see me, talk your talk, and see how that ends up. I promise I’ll be really nice to you Sir. Pay for you to fly to the Bay Area, and then fly home. I would love to meet you and see your attitude change. But absolutely I will promise you that I will pay for you to come visit and have a good time with me, and then pay for your ride home. I think we can become friends after this. If you don’t I appreciate that and apologize. But 100% I’ll pay for you to come out to Santa Cruz, and then I’ll pay for you to fly to whatever fly over state you live in. I really mean that in the kindest way possible. After this post, I will forever forward be a nice gentlemen to you. Mr. I have given everyone hummers, please forgive me for my ignorance, actions, and posts. I apologize. But also please reach out to me as I would love to have you as a guest. If not, I’m sorry for embarrassing you and showing you everyone what a simple child you are. Again, I could be wrong? If I am, I’ll be the first to tell you in person that I am sorry Hummer.
  25. As you once told me, I’ll ride him like a motorcycle! However, I would get a room with this little simpleton. My hair in a ponytail whipping him is his stupid face. I would love it. The funny thing is, he hasn’t had any experience, he is just a rude jackass. As my favorite comedian said. “He doesn’t know dick about cock”!
