Robbie did play three shows at Knebworth, but to 125000 each night. Oasis also played two shows there with the same attendance. Both outselling Zeppelin. Although they were the first to play two shows there, the second didn’t sell out and was probably only half capacity. a fella on Facebook recently claimed he was at the second Knebworth and that there was 200000 there. He was upset when I said that wasn’t so. I don’t like to piss on peoples chips, but the truth is what it is

Going to California was the bootleg I was thinking of. One i haven’t played for maybe 25 years. Now I’ve listened to the medley I’ll play the rest of the gig I have the Elvis version on my jukebox and give it a spin most weekends thanks all

I used to have a bootleg that included a cover of this Elvis tune and it was always a favourite for me. It’s been many years since I’ve heard it and I’ve forgotten what gig it was, now I want to play it again. Was it Blueberry Hill maybe? I know someone here will know straight away. Also was it played at many gigs? The same question for the other Elvis cover - my baby left me . Thanks

The Ken Bruce show, everyday on radio 2, includes a feature “tracks of my years” where the guest chooses ten songs that they relate to and chats about why that is. Planty was on this week. I just heard it through BBC Sounds online. a really interesting listen with a few unexpected choices. I would have put a few bob on him selecting Elvis’ Big hunk of love, but nope

Someone recently posted on here quoting a show where Page was drunk on black dog after moby dick, and said it was the worst version of the song he’d heard. I’ve looked for that post but can’t find it now which is a shame as I want to check it out can anyone direct me to the show? Thanks

I was born in ‘65 and first heard Zeppelin aged 10 when Physical Graffiti came into our house. But, I really got into them when I saw the film in ‘76 aged 11, and from then on I was strapped aboard. I was too young for Knebworth at age 14, I kind of hoped my older brother might take me but he wasn’t too keen on the idea as he wasn’t really a fan So my first time was seeing Planty on his first tour ‘83 and maybe a dozen times since including twice at Glastonbury. Page & Plant at Glastonbury 95, then twice more that year. Then three times in ‘98, including at Reading, which was the best time I saw them. JPJ on the Zooma tour(2000?) was fantastic and I saw him as a guest at a collective artists gig, and with Them Crooked Vultures

The same as most folk it seems. D&C should have been dropped after ‘73. WS/BMS too long on the 77 tour, if it had have been two minutes long, just as everyone sits down and contemplates going to the bar, thinking it’s going to go on for a while, and then straight into Kashmir, it would have been a great intro. And it should never have even been allowed on the 80 tour, terrible. the 77 noise solo: without its context within D&C, I find it too long and boring. It has good bits obviously but they’re buried by indulgence instead of dynamism. Any MD/ OTT over 15 minutes from song start to end. I’m not a drummer, but it doesn’t matter, I don’t want to watch a bloke on stage alone twatting about for up to half an hour, even if it is John Bonham, or Jimmy Page. I’m a guitarist and Page is my favourite but FFS, 30 minutes is a long time 30 - 35 minutes is the length is the length of a standard vinyl album. For the hour that Page & Bonham spent alone on stage on the 77 tour, they could have played nearly all of Zeppelin 2 & 4, or two of any of their albums you fancy. having said that, I want there to see any of these shows and maybe being there was probably the key element,
