Alison Krause/Robert Plant...not sure which show I'll be attending but that's my next concert.

Interesting discussion PageAngel
My username is a combo of the intials of my last/middle/first name (in that order) plus I'm a reborn Zep fan!

I recently saw Led Zepagain at the HOB in West Hollywood....awesome as usual! They recreated the O2 show; it was fantastic, awesome, wonderful......for those interested, if they come to your town and recreate this show, definitely check it out.
My next show is Heart and hopefully AK/RP (whenever they announce southern california/west coast dates).

Great story!!! Robert is so gracious. What a moment to treasure for you!!!
Thanks for sharing!

Ya, Stand up has that certain Guitar sound.Very much harder than some of the others.
It has a little of everything doesn't it? For A 1000 Mothers is such a great song!!!
-
That's the one I've been looking for......thanks!!!
I searched for the gold disc of "Living In The Past" on Amazon and the lowest price for this cd is $150!!!
That is such a great album however that price is a tad too steep for my budget. I'll keep looking for it...maybe one day I'll find one for a reasonable price.
-
Also, 'Teacher', is missing from the single cd release...you have to get the MFSL gold double disc set for the entire selection that was on the original vinyl....YES..very collectible and expensive.
I still plan on chiming in with my Jethro Tull memories..and a little tidbitty encounter...
That's the one I've been looking for......thanks!!!

As I said b4 (above) get the dvd!
It wil rock U right back 2 where it all began & beyond~next best to c'n them live~
There is a Living in the Past DVD???!! I have the Living WITH the Past DVD and that is quite good.
I have a music documentary JT VHS. I think it was taped in the '80;s. There are interviews, performances, videos. Ian has this long beard. He didn't look as good as he does now.

I'm a Tull fan too!!!
I'm more of a fan of their early music (Stand Up, Benefit, Aqualung) than the later prog music.
I liked the material they released in the 90's though it doesn't hold up as well as the old material imho.
What I'm looking for is the full CD version of Living In The Past, not the edited version. Is it still in print? I've seen it on Amazon for $$$$. I hope they eventually re-release the full version of the cd. This was my first JT purchase and I went from there.

I don't mind some solo Sting but a great deal of it begins to sound like the same song over and over again. I definitely prefer his work with The Police.
I liked most of Sting's solo work, specifically his first solo albums. The highpoint of his solo work for me was the "Soul Cages" cd. However it dropped off to me after that album.

I think Andy Summers is a great guitarist, with the police its understated and does what is needed, while outside of the Police he is an amazing Jazzer !! I think it takes alot as a musician who can really play like he can to keep it simple in the Police format without the need to overplay, say like alot of metal guitarists who seem to have to cram as many notes into the time it would take for us to say hi !!
I have a love hate relationship with The Police, all that early Reggie stuff was alittle bit iffy for me, not all of it but some , ( I like Bob Marley). Synchronicity II I really think is so cool and love to play that on my guitar !! I like the way Summers uses those SUS type chords on Every breath and Message in a Bottle !!
He grew up in the town I was born in, I have the stupid claim that when I was a teen I nicked his golf ball !! this was at the local golf course that he would come and play on in his days with the Police in the early 80's !!!! if your reading Andy I am very sorry as we kids were a pain in the backside, following you around, hiding in bushes and then running out when you teed off, then as you watched your ball disappear over the hill of the 3rd hole, we would run on and take your ball before you got to the top of the hill and look for it !! Oh what we do when we are 13
Andy's performance really impressed me; he's an excellent guitarist.

You (you meaning RP) doesn't have to blow out anybody else's candles to make his shine brighter.
Uh, don't we do something similar here when we compare/contrast zep to other bands?
Even if that rumor was true, isn't RP entitled to his opinion like many of us?
Just wondering........

This is assuming this story was true in the first place!
Edit: As it apparently wasn't--see below.
The word "tabloid" in the link provided a clue that all may not seems what appears to be (or heard).

I am a fan of the Police. I didn't get to see them live back in the day but swore if they ever reunited, I'd go! I didn't think it would happen but voila....they reunited. I saw them in Vegas at the MGM Grand; excellent show!!!
I own the box set; my favorite Police album is Regatta De Blanc (The Bed's Too Big Without You is my favorite track off the album).

I'm #2!!!
Speaking of DP, does anyone have the MK II DVD concert taped in Denmark in'72. The DVD also features their appearance on "In Concert". Blackmore is amazing to watch......I was like WOW!!!!!!

linkage please. I don't know where RH's diary is.
I feel the same way!
When was the last time he looked so healthy, happy and well rested? Damn.

There's a nice photo of Jimmy in RH's diary today.
-
I think that might be a bit of a stretch...
Perhaps it is...I just think MK II had a lot of potential but that's just my .02 cents....
-
I saw This Christmas today. Good movie.....all about family....gets you into the holiday spirit.

Thanks KB for bringing this thread back!

Me-me-me-me-me!!! Well, I'm a fan of the DP MK II. I tend to believe that had this version of the group stayed together, they would've eventually been looked at in the same view as Led Zeppelin or the Beatles....maybe not in the rarified air but one level below. Perhaps they are......I just think the MK II version had "it" going on....

I think I'm going to see Big Bad Voodoo Daddy this Saturday. They're a local neo swing band from Ventura, CA but they are fun to watch.

The Who Ultimate Anthology. I picked it up at the local library after watching the Who documentary on VH1 Classic.
I was never into the Who though I liked some of their songs so I decided to give this anthology a listen. It's pretty good.

I've never seen the MTV unplugged episode but I did buy the album and I have to agree....it's one of the best acoustic cds I've heard in awhile. I put a bunch of songs from this unplugged on my ipod....
