The opening music to this tour was This Mortal Coil and their version of Song to The Siren. ( I think) or was that " Shaken and Stirred"? Yes maybe it was as it was the highlight of the evening along with Richie Heywood's drumming

The opening music for the Non Stop Go tour was "Pilentze Pee"  by the Bulgarian State Radio and Television Female Choir......from the album " Les Mystere des voix Bulgares (Volume 1 ) "

Yes, I'm sure - there's 16min of the rehearsals (incl. "Here Comes The Rain" by The Cult) and also an40min- interview with Robert,
Here's the link fot the reheasal:

The "Here Comes the Rain"  is just a lyric in the Plant track SSS&Q   ...not the Cult song.    Hopefully Chris Blackwell or someone can confirm which studio this rehearsal is from.  I notice that "studio 54 exeter"    now has a "Phil Johnstone Suite".

    I think it's more like 1988

Sept 24, 1988 makes sense. He wore a similar shirt in 95.

It is not Sept 24th 1988 . I was at Jimmy;s show that night and afterwards  went to the Old Absinthe Bar. They were queuing round the block to get in, no doubt expecting Jimmy to show. I got in quick as was with one of the staff of the Absinthe Bar and photographer Frank Melfi.   After a while we got the news that Jimmy was in the Hard Rock cafe/ restaurant. So we went there and he was dining with Patricia Ecker and Jason Bonham amongst others.

Maybe some of you don't know that cooking cocaine is a real thing. Its called free basing. You mix it with a bit of baking soda and water and you heat it until all the impurities in the coke are "cooked" out until all you have left is a hard rock of what they call crack cocaine.

True..and I believe that is what the "could not stand to try it, FRY  it"  lyric refers to.  But re the line he asked about I would say that Plant sings " Don;t you want cocai, cocai,  cocaine"   not " don;t you want  cook , cook it, cook it"

Can anyone answer for me who the chap on the bicycle was that delivered the telegram to Robert Plant in the film "The Song Remains the Same". I would greatly appreciate the info. What's this man doing today and how did he get the gig? Was he hired by Peter Clifton or Joe Massot?...Thank you

From memory..i think it was the son of Joe Massot.

No he definitely isn't in the video and I've searched for a while trying to confirm it but haven't been able to do as yet. I can just recall spotting him on some tv news reports at the time, he didn't appear alot and was always in the background. I guessed that as Phil Collins had recorded with him then that is how he may have been involved.

I will keep trying to find some confirmation of this, unless it was my memory playing tricks on me and I'm thinking of something else.

perhaps it is the Princes Trust 1982 concert you are referring to ?

It’s obvious to me Robert feels awkward still onstage at this point, without Jimmy onstage weaving around him, he wasn’t sure what to do with himself onstage.  His body language is very uncertain

For me...any awkwardness here is due to the restrictive elements of miming on a  TV show. Something he was not used to.  They all break into smiles when Rob misses his "ohhh" at 1.11.

I do not think at all it has anything to do with Page not being there.  I saw  a few Honeydrippers live shows in 1981 and Plant was as confident as ever.  Plant has never suffered from stage fright...that was more Jimmy's problem.

This is the Swan Song launch party at Chiselhurst Caves on 10/31/74 but it's not Phil May. If you look closely, there seem to be two people to Robert's right. One, perhaps Jimmy, slightly turned with his back to the camera which slightly obstructs the side profile of the man who does appear in other photos taken that night. Perhaps he was   management or staff for another act, or someone who worked in the UK music industry. I don't think it's Peter Grant, either.

I think that is Richard Cole in the middle.

Thanks for that. I wasn't aware of it. I have in my collection one of the plexiglass signs for the concert that were reportedly displayed atop taxi cabs. I still hope to find a photo of one in use at the time.

Here you go Steve.   This one I took of the other Steve Jones in Vegas May 95.

The sponsor for the first leg of the North American tour (Feb-May 1995) was Miller Genuine Draft. According to my notes they did produce a promotional clip but I no longer recall if it aired on television. I don't believe so. As I recall it was only shown in the Miller Genuine Draft-sponsored Page/Plant memorabilia truck that was parked outside of the venues. There was no need for any local commercials because MTV was providing plenty of coverage/news reporting and tickets sold out quickly. In the third photo below you can see the screens inside the truck where the MGD promotional clip was shown.

They had the promo clip showing on the giant screen on the huge MGM sign outside the MGM Grand Hotel Las Vegas for the days leading up to the gig complete with voiceover giving date of the gig etc.
