    Oh CANADA!

I am with you Winnipegers. Toronto is lame. And i live in the damn city.
  3. Is there anyone here who remembers first hearing the news of Jimi's death?? Was it huge news like Elvis's and John Lennon's death? I recently saw an old clip on youtube of a news station announcing his death. And it was barely even 2 minutes long.
  4. Wow. That's weird. That's a compliment and a slapdown at the same time. You're welcome.
  5. She didn't go into specifics. I presume the show that's in the movie. I don't know. She said there would be bonus material as well. I have never seen the movie so i am looking forward to it.
  6. I watch Almost Famous everytime it comes on tv. One of my favorites of all time.
  7. Janie Hendrix has said they will be officially releasing Royal Albert Hall on DVD and CD in the new year.
  8. Paul would never kick back and hang out with a fan. A friend of mine approached when he was in town a few years ago and Paul refused to do a picture with him.
  9. Because he will be the first to tell you how talented he is. He isn't humble at all. They re aired the Larry King special and that was what he was saying. He just has this air about him that says "i am special". H e just has the snobbish quality about him. Ask any of The Beatles and as much as they like him they would mention his ego. I guess if you have your ass kissed as much as he has that will happen. And he is concerned with how he will be remembered and what his contribution was. he switched the song writing credits around a couple years ago. I also get the impression he is jealous over the adoration John has received since he died. Giving him more credit and less so for Paul. He has pretty much come out and said this. he is too concerned with what people think of him which is a sure sign of ego.
  10. The beatles were a great band but the adoration they receive goes over the top. They weren't perfect. Not all their songs were great. They weren't great singers. They were average live performers. Because they quit when they did the public never got go see them go into steep decline like the Stones did. You stick around long enough you will eventually suck. They as a group avoided that. They quit while on top which was a smart move even though they didn't plan it that way.
  11. I'll never get what John saw in Yoko either. She is one of the ugliest women ever and on top of that from all accounts she is not a nice person. She wasn't the sole reason for the breakup but she put the nail in the coffin. John chose her over his lifelong friends.
  12. Pepper doesn't hold up very well. And the lyrics are beyond stupid.
  13. Mccartney's ego is out of hand. i can't stand the guy. Harrison was the most likeable out of the bunch.
  14. I am happy i was able to avoid 2 xmas parties. One a family get together and one held by one of my friends who i was tipped off was gonna try to introduce me to a single female friend of his. Nope. Homey don't play that.
  15. I can't believe this film is raved about like it is. The last half hour killed it for me.
  16. I'm happy that i am not gonna have to break my back xmas shopping like the masses are. I am just gonna buy some gift cards and some movie passes today and be done with it.
  17. I saw American Gangster last weekend. Really good exciting movie. Although Denzel is the same in every movie now. He doesn't stretch himself anymore. It's the same routine every movie now. Saw Gone Baby Gone. Good film. I don't understand all of the raves about Casey Affleck though. I am gonna try and see Sweeny Todd this weekend. And i am still going to try and see most of the movies nominated for golden globes.
  18. Anyone who thinks Elvis is a joke is not a true fan of rock and roll. All of your favorite hard rock long hair hippie rockers were influenced by him and wouldn't be what they were without him. And if you did a history lesson on Elvis you would know he could play guitar. Watch the outtakes from the 1968 concert special. If you are gonna make fun of Elvis when he got fat which was 2 years out of his entire career then you are real short sighted about him. Do you make fun of all rockers who were fat or have gained weight? What about rockers who have grown man boobies? Jerry Garcia, Meatloaf. Elton John and Rod Stewart wear gurdles to hold in their guts.
  19. I'm serious. The dude cannot dance to save his life. I don't how to describe what he does. Go watch the films. It's like he is having seizure. Elvis was like a cat on stage. Mick is like a chicken with his head cut off.
  20. I just saw concert film of the stones of 1972 and have come to the conclusion that Mick Jagger is one of the most overrated front men of all time. You couldn't understand a word he was singing. His dancing and movements were laughable. He was wearing some outfit that he had obviously ripped off from Elvis. He can't even hold to a candle to someone like Elvis. Now there is a guy that could move on stage. To top if off The Stones haven't done anything worthwhile since the 70's.

    Oh CANADA!

Seriously it has got that label. That image is outdated by about 10 years though.

    Oh CANADA!

I live in toronto. It's boring here. It's very overrated. People always say how clean and safe it is here but it has become a pretty dirty city, the murder rate this year is as high as it's ever been as well.
  23. No Country For Old Men- I loved this movie until Josh Brolin meets the girl at the pool. It goes straight downhill after that. They build you up and build you up and then they don't deliver. They left a packed theatre really disappointed. Good performances by everyone though except for Tommy Lee Jones. His routine is old now. Enough. Lars and The Real Girl- i wanted to really like it but in the end it just didn't work. The whole situation was so ridiculous that you couldn't take it seriously when you were supposed to. It had everyone laughing where they weren't supposed to be laughing. And it becomes way too farfetched in the end. Fred Claus- It was so-so. It was an alright xmas movie. Vince Vaughn does his usual routine and there are some laughs. Don't go with high expectations though. I am going to see Gone Baby Gone and Across The Universe this weekend.
