Stellar analysis!

Very much looking forward to the Plant/Krauss tour stop near mem June 3, Saratoga Springs, NY.
It will only be the second time ever in my life that I will get to see a member of Zep in the flesh - the only other time was my very first rock concert when I was around, the Firm at Nassau Coliseum, 1986! So very stoked and grateful to see someone who has had such a large effect on my life and so many others. Cheers!

I always loved the Version of Celebration Day on the original TSRTS soundtrack - but subsequent reissues and remasters seem to all be different variants, still hard to find that original version I like the best!

I'm 99% sure that the show I saw in April 86 at Nassau Coliseum was for the Mean Business tour - remember buying the vinyl LP and boning up on it before the show.
ahh the Firm, takes me back to high school........like a lot of folks here i was Jimmy Page obsessed back then after missing out on Zeppelin. Maybe I was 15 or 16 at the time, I saw them, I believe, on both tours. I was at the Nassau Coliseum gig too.......I think that was the debut album tour......and then whatever year it was at MSG on the Mean Business tour, I think....those shows were like religious experiences for me.........to me it was as close to a Zepepelin show as I would ever see........so I treated as as such. Those were the types of shows i sort of had to pinch myself at to make sure I was really there. Screamed myself hoarse during the "Bow" sequences. I think I had a boot of the msg show too, which was ok for a hand held recorder deal that someone in my HS did. Jimmy was pretty messed up at those shows if I rememberdoe anyone remember if they toured Mean business, I know I saw them twice but could have been the same tour

I saw the Firm on the same tour at Nassau Coliseum - in fact, it was my first official concert-going experience (as I was 12 yrs old, was accompanied by my Dad)
I remember being thrilled to see Jimmy with the bow and the green laser pyramid. Virginia Woolf, with Jason Bonham, also opened the show - for a young, budding Zephead, I was very happy!
I have seen pretty much every major band one can name and to this day, the best show I've ever seen was on te Firm's Mean Business tour in 1986. I still think the 2nd LP is extremely under-rated and the power-force of Page & Rodgers when shamefully unnoticed. Perhaps the time just wasn't right.
Jimmy Page vs. Jimi Hendrix

Chiming in late here, but seeing as Jimi and Jimmy are my top 2 favorite rock guitarists, had to chime in!
Rather a ranking of who is better, I like the characterization made by Josh Homme (of Kyuss/QOTSA/Them Crooked Vultures), something to the effect of that Page and Hendrix are the epitome in the rock guitar realm, one being "the light" (Hendrix) and "the darkness" (Page) - though plenty had both shades in their music - both genius!
I Would try to find the exact quote from Homme on Youtube, it was part of Matt Sweeney's 'Guitar Moves' series, but looks like those vids have disappeared!
