  1. These "Literal Music Videos" are hilarious.

Just search "Literal music videos" on YouTube for tons of them.

Some suck, but many of them are hilarious.

Total Eclipse of the Heart is one of the most famous, but for some reason, embedding is disabled on every one I could find.

With Arms Wide Open is another awesome literal video that has been removed from YouTube.

Guess some artists have no sense of humor.

    Both worth clicking to watch.

  2. Went to the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Fest Friday in Atlanta.

Very hot, but it was a pretty good jam.

    Especially Liked:

    Machine Head

    Trivium

    Godsmack

It was announced before Megadeth's set that Dave Mustaine was sick/injured (not sure which), but that he would play anyway.

    Tumultuous cheers ensued.

But they only played 4 songs, probably due to Mustaine's aforementioned illness.

Had to leave during Disturbed because one guy's GF/wife (not even sure) had a bad toothache (I wasn't down with her going in the first place, it should have been guys night out).

Overall, pretty good show, except I'm getting a little old for these extended festivals with so much standing.

    My legs were REALLY tired.

  3. Evidently she's under the mistaken impression that the graph is based upon actual statistics and completely failed to get the humorous aspect of it (thus, why I posted it in this thread). I've tried explaining once before but it was apparently to no avail.

    Eeeesh.

    Lighten up, Francis.

    Lulz.

Now, any of you *homos* touch me, and I'll kill you. :hysterical:

  4. The graph is making light of some people's perception of gay marriage. Lighten up, Francis.

    Am I missing something???

    What is she on about?

What does the graph you posted have to do with what she posted?

  6. For a movie like Rise of the Planet of the Apes, or Avatar, I want to pay to see the full 3D experience.

For other movies that look interesting, but have no special effects, I wait an extra couple months and see it at the $1.99 theater.

For still others that merely look interesting, I usually notice that it's on OnDemand and check it out.

True, I saw The Hangover Part II on opening weekend, but that was one movie I was rabidly awaiting.

Obama was wrong, this is a great movie. I knew next to nothing about it prior to renting it. If I knew anything more of the plot beforehand I'm not so sure I would have enjoyed it so much. It starts out like a typical political story but then takes a huge detour that kept me captivated until the end.

I became interested in this from the original previews, which looked kinda sci-fi/action.

I still enjoyed it when I learned it wasn't exactly that.

  8. I once got a CD in the early 90s, I'm almost certain the band was called Hurricane.

What I remember so vividly is, upon the very first listen, I was struck by how pathetically formulaic the CD was.

It was literally the epitome of 80s hair.

I mean, I jammed Poison and Cinderella and Krokus as much as anybody, but bands like Pretty Boy Floyd really rubbed me the wrong way.

So by the 2nd or 3rd song, I was thinking how painfully predictable this CD sounded.

I remember specifically thinking as the (I believe) 3rd song was ending, "just about time for the obligatory power-ballad."

And, as if on cue, that's EXACTLY what the next track was.

If memory serves, I was so put off I never even finished listening to the rest of the CD.

A friend of mine who collects CDs, especially 80s, told me the CD is now actually worth upwards of $60 or $70 as a collector's item due to being so blatantly cliche'.

Anyway, definitely gets my vote as one of the worst bands ever.
