  1. "I'm Awesome," by Spose Not awesome... My little sister keeps perpetuating it, too. Every time I forget about it, she reminds me! *@#$ing kids!
  2. I FINALLY got my garden planted! It's been so cold around there that I actually repotted my plants and put them in the windows. Now they're in the ground (and some potted on my patio), but I'm happy that they're finally PLANTED! Yay! (...and it's still quite warm here even though it's almost 1am. We had to turn on the a/c today.)
  3. I had a girls' night out tonight with two old high school friends: one who lives near me and is still very close to me, and another who moved out of state and I WAS very close to up until she moved. We had fun.
  4. Me either, LOL. It took Apple two months to get a proper upgrade after I got Snow Leopard installed on my computer to make my printer work. LOL
  5. I got to meet my friend's baby tonight. He was precious. It's so hard to believe that they're sooo small! My niece was his size when she was born, (actually, and ounce lighter and .25 of an inch shorter), but man, oh man! they grow so fast!
  6. I'm 29 now. My mom had me when she was (too) young, and my last sister was born when she was 29. She didn't want any more after that. HER cousin and her sister both had kids after 40; my cousin had all of her kids in her 40's, and my aunt had two generations of kids: her youngest kid was born being an aunt. I don't want to have them much past 30-35.
  7. My friend's baby was born late last night, after a labor that was over 30 hours. I was beginning to worry about her, so I'm happy that both the baby and mother are doing well.
  8. 38...my boyfriend will be 40 in June. I'm 29, but I'm still in no hurry.
  9. I think I would like children, but I keep thinking that I'm "not old enough" yet. Plus--I want to have my career started and going well, and I have no plans on getting married anytime soon, even though I've been in a relationship for about nine years now.
  10. I got to babysit my adorable little niece today. We played really hard and had a lot of fun. I had the money and time to shop around at Barnes and Noble today by myself. I bought three books for myself and three for my best friend's baby boy, who will (most likely) be born tomorrow. She's going to the hospital to have her labor induced tomorrow.
  11. Congrats, slave to zep! That's a big deal for sure! I hope the wedding planning is easy and painless.
  12. ^that's funny, Virginia. Old 5th grade teachers. I love it. erings: I wear contacts because I enjoy the freedom from having glasses fog up, getting dirty, etc. I especially hate wearing glasses when it's rainy or sunny, (I would have to buy rx sunglasses), or when I'm working out. I think the sweatiness is compounded by having something on your face. I just hate it. I also LOVE to read lying down, and that is kind of messed up when you're wearing glasses--you can bend them, (at least, the way I do it...). HAPPINESS for today: I found a GREAT guide to hot springs in my neck of the woods! I actually found one for the Pacific Northwest, but there is a HUGE section on them in my area. We're going hot-springing tomorrow! (I am a little worried about the possible hiking in the snow on some of them...)
  13. erings: soooo cool! Lucky! I am happy because all week, I was busy with subbing work, and my night school job is paying well too. I'm also happy because ALL my car repairs are going to be DONE tomorrow! Yessss! My boyfriend replaced my belts, front axles, flushed my tranny, I have new tires (got them in December), and my brakes and alignment are going to be done tomorrow. THAT makes me a happy girl. No worries on the automobile front. Oh yes: and I ordered contacts today. I've been wearing lasses all week, so that made me happy too.
  14. I'm happy to see that you guys have been able to spend time together! Looking great! Great pictures, everyone! Brspled: you've always got such STUNNING photos. I need a camera like yours, and maybe some of your skill too.
  15. I went to dinner tonight with my boyfriend and his dad. I was able to chose a meal that made me happy without killing myself with nothing but rabbit food. I ate NONE of the bread that was put on the table in front of me, and I ordered a salad and grilled veggies to go with my fish.
  16. 10 pounds, 4 oz? Holy Schnikes! I just found out that tomorrow, being my birthday (the 3rd, technically in 8 minutes where I am), that my boyfriend's going to pay for my CV boots/front axles to be fixed! Happy birthday to me! Whoo-hoo!
  17. After filing my taxes, learning that I will be getting $1,200 back. I need that money to get my car running well again. I have a 1997 Honda Accord with original parts going out...
  18. ^Whenever my niece is over at my house or in my car, I get her to dance to the Zeppelin. Gotta train her early. What made me happy today: I was worried my night school gig wasn't going to be a reality this quarter. Well, it came through, but barely. Just BARELY...I didn't have enough kids enrolled in my course this afternoon, but by the time "late registration" was over, I was good! (Thank God...that's $900/month, and that DOUBLES my income...)
  19. I've been looking for new running shoes for a while now. Mine are just plain worn out. They'll be find for wearing with jeans, etc., but not taking to the gym. I went to the gym with the old ones on today; and then decided since I got paid today it was time for new shoes. I went out and bought new shoes AND new socks! Yess! I got a great deal on the Brooks shoes, they were $79.99, down from $139.99, and the socks were cheap too! I got a pair of Brooks:
  20. A documentary on William Shakespeare: In Search of William Shakespeare. Buck"Eye": My niece would have had a COW to see that! Seriously. She's almost 15months old and she SQUEALS when she sees Thomas or hears his themesong! No joke. She will sit through an entire PBS episode withouttaking her eyes off the TV.
  21. Thomas the train. My niece is here and she loves that show!
  22. ^Ah....late '80s primo cookware...Visions. #lol#
  23. MORE SNOW! The nice evening at home we are having tonight watching movies! The New Year! The nice present my sister got me when she came home from Seattle this evening!
  24. Let's see if I can get that much on January 4th. (I have to go back to work the 4th and the Fiesta Bowl is that day...I won't be able to watch my Broncos play.)
  25. ^and to follow up: I just spent about 40 minutes shoveling my driveway. My neighbor shoveled the sidewalks this morning, so I only had to go over them quickly to clear them up again (both his and mine). The driveway was a mess though. My boyfriend walked ALL over it brushing the snow off the truck, and then drove on it when he left for work. I'm not blaming anyone, but that made it NO FUN. ...and throw a broken shovel into the mix, double NO FUN. I think I broke the neighborhood record for how long it takes to shovel a driveway with 4-5" of snow on it.
