  1. This made me giggle: I was driving on the freeway, and I noticed a middle aged woman had a sticker on the back of her truck that had Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes pissing on the word "taxes." Then, below it, was the word "teabagger." Methinks "teabagger" isn't the best word for what she's trying to say. #hysterical# You have to click on the picture to really see it. My camera phone sucks.
  2. OOhh! I missed that message, Reggie! Congrats! Another happy thing, (okay, it made me laugh): I said to my boyfriend, "hey...do you want to do something really fun, baby?" He replies, "what? Sleep?" That's exactly what I meant. Truly. It's 1am here.
  3. You have to give kids their meds, deal with the occasional puking kid,epi pen, etc. Maybe a kid or two whose blood sugar is outta whack? You may end up dealing with a few hypochondriacs though. LOL I LOVE working with kids though. Much better than working with as many adults. My best friend's getting married in the morning. We've finally got everything ready to go! I'm going to sleep well tonight after I stayed up late last night doing bridesmaid stuff.
  4. There are several, thanks. One within fifteen minutes of here. It hit the news yesterday(?) that our airport is going to be a stopover for the Olympics in Vancouver. Interesting. Yuck. Car repairs suck. I hope to GOD that nothing goes wrong on my car (knocks on wood) until I get a fat paycheck again. I've spent a lot of money on my friend's wedding that's taking place Saturday. It's a small wedding, and I can't believe how much it's cost me to be a bridesmaid!
  5. My friend totally flaked on me today. She said she's come over for coffee and breakfast at nine this morning, but then she texted me at 7:40 and said that she needed to wait for her attorney to call her, (she's dealing with trying to renew her work visa). At 11, she was STILL waiting..and now I've given up. She's got a cell phone, I don't know why she can't just come over and have coffee while she waits for him.
  6. I found a business card on the ground at work a few years ago for a probation office in my county. His name? James Page. I kept if for a while becuase I'm a dork like that. #lol#
  7. That's a good one, then you don't need to work all nighters, weekends, holidays, etc., like some of my friends who are RN's at the hospitals do.
  8. MH and Ally, I'm sorry to hear about both things. I got some bad news about a family member's business today. I'm not going to post what it is, but it seems that their business may be in danger because of the stupidity of one of the part-owners who isn't my uncle. I'm quite upset by this--my uncle's company has been his life's work. He started it with said part-owner when he was 25 and it's been in business for 20 years. I hope it can pull through.
  9. Heh. Though teachers have the time off, they rarely use all of it for just vacation. In my area, school gets out usually the first week of June, and school starts at the end of August. We get about two weeks at Christmas and a week at the end of March (for spring break), and then a total of seven to nine weeks for summer. This year, it would have been seven. However, once school starts, if you don't have the majority of your lessons planned, you're going to be working more than the normal 10+ hour days because you can't plan at school. There's no freakin' way.
  10. Magenta, you look like you're feeling much better than in the picture you posted right after you got out of the hospital! I've got to say, you're looking great! Nice to see you, Planted! Reswati, you look like Roger Daultry in that one!
  11. DJ---I'm JEALOUS that you got to see that! It's not coming anywhere near my neck of the woods, sadly. It's a great picture, too.
  12. Yeah...that other guy's pretty freakin' cool!

  13. Nice! So how did the mohawk at school go over?
  14. My Boise State Broncos! ...and then this jackass who had to make his entire team look bad once they lost...
  15. 1. Jack Johnson--Sleep Through Static 2. Jack Johnson--Brushfire Fairytales 3. Bob Marley--Legend 4. Ben Harper--Lifeline
  16. ^no problem! Seriously though, I honestly wonder whether marriage can work after seeing so many divorces, etc. Every adult I know who is older than I (like my mom's generation) is divorced. At least once. I don't know many people who have stayed married more than a few years, so seeing that makes me happy. I threw out about five (inside, office-sized) trash cans of papers for the recycling today! I'm hoping to go through more tomorrow to get rid of. I need to clear out this freakin' office of mine!
  17. ^that's awesome! Congrats on year #30!
  18. That's sad. I can't believe that it took that long for anyone to take action. I'm sorry, Buckeye.
  19. I just got my purple hard-plastic case for my 13" MacBook Pro today! I snapped it on, and it's official! I own a purple computer! It also matched my purple Nano. Hey. Who said you can't have everything matching? (Actually, it's more the fact that I'm a total freakin' klutz that convinced me to pay the $45 for the plastic cover--don't wanna ruin my new computer, right? I have a snap-on clear case for my Nano.)
  20. ...and the little fucker's AT IT AGAIN!
  21. I've heard other neighbors yelling at him too. It barks when she lets him out, and she doesn't go out there with him. She lets him out for about twenty minutes every hour! Fuuuck.
  22. ^LOL I was just rehearsing my little speech. It's hard to keep bad wording and the cuss words out of it, I'm so annoyed! Seriously. She lives behind me and one house over. I can hear her dog everywhere in my freakin' house! I think I'm just going to call animal control. Seriously.
  23. THAT FUCKING DOG AGAIN! Seriously. This old lady just doesn't GET IT!
  24. School started today in my area, and I still don't have a job.
