Well, it rained for pretty much all of July and September in England, so today was a very welcome change! I sat outside in my garden, reading the newspaper. At one point, a light aircraft flew overhead with that familiar buzzing, droning sound, and I found myself muttering under my breath "Nah, leave it, yeah ... "

Sunshine! (Does anyone (in England) remember sunshine?!) Having Sunday lunch with my parents and my kids

My kids. Not for any special or unusual reason or event today, but sometimes I just look at them across the room and think "Wow - how lucky am I?" I love them so much and receive so much love in return. It's wonderful, and a little overwhelming sometimes. I am lucky.

Realising that it's only 4 days until I go on holiday! I'm going on a Mediterranean cruise for 2 weeks. I am SO excited!

I'm going to post a photo soon - just as soon as I get one taken. I've been trying to pluck up the courage to do this for ages, as I'm a little shy. I think I'm about ready now, for two reasons: 1. I have lost most of the weight I wanted to lose (21lbs so far) 2. I have a new Zep t shirt (skinny fit, 'cos I can do skinny fit now, yay!) So I'll let you all finally put a face to the name over the next few days.

What made me happy today was feeling really, really healthy. I've been on a diet for about 9 weeks now and I'm really enjoying all the good food I'm eating. I feel so much better for not eating junk. I'm also a lot slimmer and feeling good about that too!

Like many others, I suspect ... watching YouTube clips of Jimmy and Jonsey having a complete blast at Wembley with the Foos. Oh, and the gorgeous sunny weather today too.

Around 1975, I think. My mum and dad had some friends whose two kids (a girl and a boy) were a few years older than me. We used to go to each others houses for dinner etc, and whilst the adults were nattering over gin and tonics or whatever, us 3 kids used to sit in the front room, usually in the dark, and listen to music. One evening at their house the lad put on LZII, III and IV and I was intrigued. He lent me the albums for a couple of weeks and I played them to death. I specifically then remember PG being released and listening for the first time to Ten Years Gone in that same room. All the details of the room are still crystal clear in my mind - even down to the colour of the sofa - and every time I hear TYG, it's like I go whooshing back in time and I'm sitting on that sofa again, awestruck by this amazing music. (Just for moffo and hammerhead - all of this happened in Shevington!)

My diet is working, I've lost 11lbs so far and I am feeling GREAT! I also got a new haircut and I love it!

Today was a good day to be a Manchester United supporter - and I am!

I just ordered The BBC Sessions - it should arrive in a few days!
