  1. That is a nice pic and thx for looking. The pic I saw once is unique cause both Gretzky and Page arrived at LA Forum that same week and the marquee 'welcomed' both on the same Forum parking lot signage. Wayne's first home game as a King was Oct 06 1988 (beat the Wings 8-2. Ouch) and Jimmy played on the 7th. Two of the "Greatest" played same venue on consecutive nights. I always wondered if Jimmy &band took in the game? It was first Kings home opener sell out in decades.
  2. Does anyone have a pic of the LA Forum marquee from the Outrider tour stop? I've seen it elsewhere, but not on LZ forum. thx, Otto
  3. 1. McCartney & Wings : Rock Show 2. Neil Young - Downtown 3. Beastie Boys: The New Style 4. Damn Yankees: Rock CIty 5.
  4. James Patrick Page should do one final worldwide retirement tour for the benefit of the planet. Donate all the proceeds of the tour to cure hunger, poverty, bad haircuts, whatever. At the end of the tour, JP gets the Nobel Peace Prize nomination. Jason, Jonesy on drums and bass full time while each leg of the tour could feature one or more singers/guitarists from his catalog and/or a few new ones. Play all the big hits from the past, present and future, as Jimmy likes to say.
  5. Steve, Ive heard from somelocal zep heads the band stayed at the Troy Hilton for this show.
  6. I had no idea Page ever played in A2. Only took Plant 40+ years more to finally perform there?
  7. I've read some Beattles' forum threads that dissect/analyze outtakes and bootlegs by the miliseconds. Don't this we've reached that level here, but if e do, fine by me.
  8. Paul Rodgers was on the VH1's 'That Metal Show' a couple weeks back. Paul described in some candid detail how he and Jimmy Page started The Firm and also described the history on Bad Co's entry onto the Swan Song label. The show is rerun quite often, so catch it the next time around. Interesting stuff.
  9. Yardbirds @Michigan State Fairgrounds is so far my fav "on this day" posting. I know a couple people who were at one of the two consecutive shows there. The State Fairground Coliseum still stands, but the MI State Fair ended for good in 2009. Otto in Detroit
  10. bbc session lanyard came with the CD's the first day it went on sale.
  11. Just purchased a ticket to Them Crooked Vultures, May 16, 2010 at Ceasars Coliseum in Windsor, Ontario. Begs the question...has any member of Zeppelin previously performed in Windsor, ON? Seems unlikely since Windsor is literally across the river from Detroit. Looking for confirmation. thx -
  12. JPJ displayed his symbol during both of his most recent solo tours. The symbol was designed into the legwork of his stand-up lap steel guitar. You can probably find it in some tour photos on his website.
  13. I remember that day, Steve. Luckily you brought your camcorder! I am excited about the crooked vultures w/JPJ coming to Detroit in October. Tix on sale 9/3. ( I wonder who currently owns that RP autographed edition Cadillac...???? whoops..another Zep mystery!)
  14. Neither can this entire message board. I love the optimism a single reunion gig generates. I think each band member is too buried in his own solo work at this time to even explore the possibility of a tour. I guarantee the last thing RP wants to explore at this time is the 'merciless repitition' of a full blown Zep tour.
  15. I, for one, will continue listening to my Page/Plant boots. That is the last of the best we will hear from those two for a very long time. Plant's Now and Zen tour, Page's Outrider tour and JPJ's last solo tour may be the best we ever hear(d) from them individually. I give Jonesy the best odds of putting out a another 'rocking' album and tour. He seems to have the most fire left in his musical soul.
  16. another rumor with supposed Jason quote: Moldova.org, Thu, 20 Dec 2007 7:58 AM PST Led Zeppelin to headline Glastonbury http://music.moldova.org/stiri/eng/82403/ Led Zeppelin are to headline next year's Glastonbury Festival. The legendary rock group - who played a sensational comeback concert at London's O2 arena earlier this month - will take to the stage for the world-famous musical extravaganza, in Somerset, England, before embarking on an 18-month world tour. A source close to the band - Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and drummer Jason ...
