I'm a bit confused as to who is you on this one reswati, I'm trying to match up with the t-shirt photo but I'm still non the wiser. Anyway, what this is leading to is...I'm liking the vocalist on this, verrry nice

This segment of a feature on Marianne Faithfull in this month's Mojo made me smile. I suppose it's one way to get Jimmy to write you a song!
For reference the "he" is Tony Calder who was Marianne's manager at the time of her first 2 albums. He was also an associate of Andrew Loog Oldham.
Tony talking about Marianne's first albums....
"Marianne wanted credibilty so it had to be folk," he says. He knew nothing but rock 'n' roll and presumed he'd detest it. But he came up with a positive compromise: "Make a folk album and a pop album." She agreed. He reckoned he'd sort it out with Decca later.
He concentrated on gathering the right material for the pop album, including some unorthodox proactive A&R when in Los Angeles with Jimmy Page: "One night I couldn't get into our hotel room because Jimmy and Jackie DeShannon were in there shagging, so I yelled, When you've finished could you write a song for Marianne?" His coarse approach bore fruit as DeShannon proffered Come and Stay With Me, Faithfull's second hit (Number 4 in February 1965) and with Page, wrote an album track for her, In My Time Of Sorrow.

Ok guys, these pictures are rather old. I already posted them all on the old board, but many of you haven't seen them, so here they are again.
Kat, all your drawings are wonderful. I particularly love this one of John, thank you so much for posting
-
Okay - time to bite the bullet. Here's a photo of me, wearing my new Zeppelin t shirt - taken about 10 minutes ago.
Hello everyone!
Lilith you look fabulous!!. You certainly have lots to smile about, congrats again on your weight loss achievement and I love your new shirt

i always thought that was his real grave also...........
The headstone is a memorial. John wasn't laid to rest there.

I read a lovely story not long ago where some Zep fans went on a tour and found John and Pat's house. She saw them on the grounds and they told her what fans they were of John. She was gracious, kind and open. She served them tea and chatted for a while before they went on their merry way.
Nice story...but not something that should be encouraged. (not saying you are Medhb, just in general)

One for the guys...
What's the difference between an egg and a wank?
You can beat an egg!

Encouraging messages from good friends like MissHoneydripper.
I've just seen this...thanks hun. Anytime

Well, here's one for you.
The guy's kinda Indy, so I just went with it, but I did add my own power to it (I can't stand most Indy). There is one song you'll have to find for yourself because it is far too embarrassing, to post here. It's him screaming and playing some Metal riff, and me just attacking the drums mercilessly.
PS: Try to block out the voice.
I see what you mean about the vocals but he's braver than me
Great to see you in action Bonham, nice one!
Anyhoo, anyone got a picture to post...
-
I had to do something about those drums, right?
I must admit, I'm anxious about posting the vids because the singer is quite terrible, and I did remind him we'll need a new singer, but, he is the guitarist, and he is good. If you get my saying.
So, if you're lucky, you'll see some cheesy jams and messed up timing.
Excellent! I seriously can't wait
Joking aside, if you're just putting a band together people don't expect Zep standards from the start...it's good to see the beginnings of a new group. It takes time to get the balance right
-
Bonham!! Welcome back...I wondered where you had gone too
Great news about the band. You will have to post some links to your YouTube vids so we can have a look.
-
relaxing somewhere in the world, probably Santo Domingo
(this is a fake picture, I wasn't sleeping at all just acting ... and thinking "yeah, I've to do some kind of led zeppelin discography on line" )
Nice pic Luke
That looks like the type of place I want to be in right now!

I haven't been here for ages, and when I do come back I'm greeted with the sight of Percy captured in action in the undies!
I could feel the thud of Roxie fainting from here

He certainly was one in a million. A great man who deserves a very big "Thank You"
