I remember when these were considered sacred objects, and for some they still are. I have many of these, but not all. That one, How Many More Times (Long Beach 1975), is a 3 LP set. I I obtained my copy more than 35 years ago and attended that show countless times with my record player and a lot of imagination.

  2. I am shocked and saddened by the untimely passing of the incomparable Mark Bowman.

Mark had become an exceptionally loyal friend to Jimmy Page in the early 1980s.

On a personal note, Mark was and forever remains a highly respected friend of mine.

The epitome of a Texan; his passing is a loss being felt across the Lone Star State.

My sincerest condolences to Mark's wife Charlene, Mark's family and friends.

So far, the most interesting thing about the Trump trial to me is how nobody talks about how the justice system is anything but fair or equitable.

Additionally, no one talks about how all of it is bread and circuses given Speaker Johnson's complete capitulation on the $90+ BILLION foreign aid package. We have a Uniparty -- voting in elections is meaningless.

There'll be 6 million dead by the time this is over. 😬

Jews vs Arabs/Arabs vs Jews will never be over, but if it takes six million dead to eliminate Hamas I'm all for it.

I thought Isreal bombing an embassy in Syria full of Iranian military was a tad uncalled for. Then again, indiscriminately killing 35 thousand women, children and aid workers while your own security forces failed to do their job was also a tad unnecessary. Then again, pushing native Palestinians from their land, rounding them up in open air prisons with no control over the electricity or water supply, fencing them in, denying their sovereignty and refusing to accept or consider a 2 state solution is probably partly to blame. At least plenty of companies in the UK and around the world are getting rich by supplying arms to these Zionist henchmen..

Laughable. "Native Palestinians". Good grief, if you're going to comment you may want to read a history book. I suggest paying close attention to the Arafat/PLO era.

Israel does not keep them imprisoned in the Gaza Strip, rather every ARAB nation in the region flatly rejects them and keeps their borders closed to them. Why do you suppose that is? I'll wait.

Keep chugging the Left's Kool Aid.

  6. The tragedy of OJ is that he truly transcended race in America, only to throw it all away to avoid a murder conviction in court.

Johnnie Cochran knew exactly what he was doing by putting the LAPD on trial as opposed to attempting to defend his client.

That trial set race relations in America back 30 years, and then Obama came along to destroy race relations in the US forever.

I'm relieved to see The Reaper took OJ as the third black icon, as it seems the coast is now clear for me.

The whole area has been flattened, people pushed out, bombed, murdered. I was under the impression that in war civilians were not to be considered targets?

They're not targets, Hamas uses them as human shields. So, for example, if Hamas is using a hospital as a base of operations the hospital is getting taken out.

I've been sleeping with one eye open ever since we lost Lou Gosset, Jr. Yes, first was Carl Weathers, then Lou -- if the reaper's looking for a third black icon to take I'm hoping it's not me.

    Stay black, reids.

Although I can't find any information on Time Rose performing at The Factory in Birmingham, just an unconfirmed appearance at Birmingham Mothers with no mention of a date, there are two dates referenced for Bonham playing with Chris Farlowe and The Thunderbirds at The Factory on 10 & again on 17 August 1968 along with a further reference to say Bonham would continue to play with them until late August. https://garagehangover.com/chris-farlowe-thunderbirds-gigs-1963-1969/

Unfortunately none of this helps to pin-point a date for Plant's return trip from Pangbourne.

    Great post nonetheless.

I love reading and learning about young Robert Anthony Plants early years, the thought that Robert would’ve not become the singer he is without his support of the other 3 might be misleading. He had that voice and was fortunate to have landed with Page, Jones, and certainly John Henry.

This along with Striders concert memories and SAJ threads on Mysteries are my absolute favorites and what gave me the confidence to join this fantastic forum with all of the wonderful people who have made this platform what it is. To all of you guys thanks for making this community so great.

The Mysteries thread is a real grab bag -- it covered a lot of ground and every now and then struck gold.

How long are we going to wait until that mass Murderer from Israel is arrested, charged and imprisoned for crimes against humanity?

Oh, please. If the IDF wanted to reduce Gaza to rubble they could easily do so. However, if they ultimately have to in order to eliminate Hamas I'm completely fine with it.

  11. I want to see all my old friends again, but I’m living a hermetic existence in the back of beyond. Exactly, just where I wanted to be when I was 49, but at 82 both my needs and my means have changed. And then the perennial, how long have I got? And how many of my friends are still alive, and how realistic is it to be gallivanting off to see them? Do they really want to see me? Who really wants to see anyone at this age? -- Roy Harper (May 2023)

still can't believe the amazing works of Third Eye - I'd prefer their productions to all the professional productions that were done between 1995 and 1998.

The Third Eye owner/videographer is a friend of mine. I purchased his original cover art mock-ups for the VHS releases. They just sit in a box like most things but it's cool to review them from time to time. He still tells a great story on how he was able to videotape the '96 Japan shows. We've also discussed all the pro-shot Page/Plant stage footage, and it's a shame that it was last seen moldering in a San Francisco warehouse for reasons that are an equally good story.

That tour was great! That specific show you were at was amazing! Crazy to think how long ago that was.

Early in the concert, right between songs, Robert quipped, "The Old Devils are Back!" which was a magazine headline at the time.

The Page/Plant era now seems nearly a lifetime ago, because it was, but it's a real cornucopia of memories whenever I'm reminded of those days.
