Hi Glicine! Yes! His own security system was his enemy, lol! And he KNEW that he was going to hallucinate yet he still couldn't seem to come to grips with the fact that he WAS while he was! I wish I had all the money that he spent on just the dope he threw away alone.

Yeah, Amazon. It's a good read and yes, Nikki is shown as more than human. A very vulnerable human actually.

Yeah! I want to read 'The Dirt' next ; ) Right! I couldn't understand because it seemed like the coke is what made him the most crazy yet he continued to do the speedballs when he really only 'needed' the heroin. Very scary stuff. I was impressed by his obvious intelligence and that he did have taste in his decor and stuff. I'm very happy for him that he got clean. He was sooooo lonely and put up such a facade to cover that. And now he's doing great work to keep kids off drugs, good for him! What book do you suggest I read Ev to hear the other 'Ross tales'? ; )

Wow! Has anyone read this book? I'm almost done. I was very surprised to see that Ross Halfin contributed a lot to the book. He is quoted a lot. Seems he hung with the band quite a bit and he joined in LOTS of the debauchery. Huh, for some reason I never thought he was the type.

  8. Ick, Ick and triple ICK!! All these doo dads take up the whole page!! This isn't what a an html editor is supposed to look like. And topic postings...you can only see about 4 per page because of all the white space between displayed items. Also, I miss the updated topics since you last visited. OMG, I just clicked a formattig button and now my typing area is reduced to two sentances. I'm sorry, I am proficient in web design, have taken classes in usability, assisted in managing my workplaces intranet and this...this....this...it terrible!! Sorry Sam, nothing personal. I'm sure somewhere there is something good about it. I can't find it.

  11. Agreed! And with that many screens I loved that the theaters themselves only hold maybe a couple hundred tops? No bad seats! And they were comfy too!!!
  12. That was one of the things I found interesting in the movie. I most certainly got the impression Edge was refering to Zep and others when he mentioned sefl indulgent solos that went on forever. And moving to the next generation Jack commented that he was rebelling against all of the electronically enhanced music (Edge lol!) As life is cyclic so too is music. Even though each of these generations was moving away from the sounds of their previous generations there was clearly a lot of respect amongst all of them. I don't believe any harm was intended by the comments but they were ironic ; ) I see Davis is begining to let more information out of the bag as the movie is being publicly released. For a follow up see the Future of Jimmy Page thread where I posted an interview with Jimmy that was published yesterday. He talks more openly about some of the music in the movie and his future plans But I do believe! I believe, I believe! edited to fix the misuse of a word too embarrassingly funny to admit to ; )
  13. Theater #20? 6 escalador rides to the top? I was there last night, lol!

    Revolution?

Actually, I think we can blame the parents that raised these kids. I've never seen a generation of children so spoiled, so expectant of praise for the most minor of achievments, so believing that everything will be handed to them on a silver platter...and it's because their parents raised them that way.
  15. JP interview for Billboard magazine August 13 When he gathered with U2's The Edge and Jack White to play together for the new film "It Might Get Loud," Jimmy Page wanted to have more than just his old favorites to jam on. So he produced "a couple of sort of sketches," titled "Embryo No. 1" and "Embryo No.2" that the Led Zeppelin founder says represent the first step for some new music in the not-too-distant future. "They just go to show I didn't go in there thinking, 'Let's see what we can get away with from the past?' " Page tells Billboard.com. "It was quite important, I felt, to actually have something that shows I'm still working on the guitar relative to just doing 'Whole Lotta Love' or something like that. It was more 'Let's show a complete picture,' so you've got that kid (a young Page on British TV) playing at 14 and you've got me playing on some things which are really pretty current for me." Page says the two pieces remain in a, well, embryonic state, but he acknowledges that he's "played them with other musicians relatively recently, in the last year or so" and that he envisions getting into the studio soon to continue working on those and other new songs. "This year I've had quite a lot of things going on," Page explains, "sort of things relative to preparing for projects. There's a lot of groundwork that's been going into that so that I can be getting on with things next year. I really intend to be doing some playing and...be seen, if you like. If you've got ambitious projects, they take time to put together if you're going to do them properly." Meanwhile, Page is looking forward to the roll-out of "It Might Get Loud," which was on the film festival circuit earlier this year and opens on Friday in New York and Los Angeles. The movie, directed by Davis Guggenheim ("An INconvenient Truth," "NYPD Blue," "ER," "Deadwood"), focuses on the three guitarists individually and also brings them together for a summit of discussion and playing that Page says "was quite a good time" -- and, not surprisingly, included more music than could be fit into the documentary. "It's inevitable there'll be a DVD on the horizon," Page says. "There'll be some extra stuff from the summit, that's obvious. I know there's another number I did. There was a lot that was played at the summit, that Edge did, I'm sure, and Jack. I'm sure there'll be a DVD, and I can tell you with a certain confidence there'll be extras because that's the way things work these days."
  16. With 'extras' !!! I saw it last night at the AMC 25 in NYC. It was most gratifying. Not only the Jimmy parts, but the entire film. Of course...I was partial to the Jimmy parts, LOL! I had the feeling most people there were Zep fans, I heard a lot of murmurings and whisperings of 'Jimmy' and "Jimmy Page'. For some reason I thought people would lined up around the block (I reserved my tix a week ago online) but that wasn't the case.
  17. Your post doesn't upset me at all Del, in fact, I agree with you! I think your response to the situation is hystericallly funny! Kudos! As in every walk of life there are 'fanatics'. Obviously the people that you are describing are fanatics...as is you The bummer is, the fanatics always get all the press and then a whole group of people are defined by their fanatical behavior. It isn't fair to any of the groups of people involved. Just because you are on the left or the right side of 'the fence' doesn't mean you subscribe to the fanatical viewpoints. The middle of the road people (which I would think are the majority) get lost in the battle of the fanatics. That's why I'm with the others on this board that we really do need a strong 3rd party.
  18. That is good news!!! I hope to hear of one near me soon! I made my toast to him at BB Kings last night.
  19. Stider, me too! I saw a midnight (12:10) showing in NYC last night. Perhaps we were in the same theater? We had a couple of drinks at BB Kings before we saw the movie, at least the people in there understood the magnetute of his contributions. I couldn't believe it at work, I was so saddened by the news I was telling everyone and most people were like "Who?" I think he should be having the same, if not more, level of attention to his passing and odes to his contributions as Michael Jackson had. Duh.

Finally! It's been annoying me since before Obama was president when it was displaying that same behavior on the political thread. I quit feeding it ages ago though I did ask the Admins was I the only one who found it's posts disruptive and all I was told was "We haven't gotten any complaints" OK Leaves me to believe the boards aren't really monitored that tightly and when people are getting banned for seemingly stupid reasons....someone's behind it making a big fuss. Just my 'theory'
  21. I still do....the build up and transition never fail to make my senses feel delighted!
  22. You make a really good point there. No matter who is steering this boat it's in for a treacherous ride. I pray for calm waters and a land of milk and honey in our future
  23. I'm not exposed enough to all the great comedians out there but I love Chris Rock and Ron White. Enough I've seen them each live and enjoyed their shows very much!
  24. What, may I ask, is your point? Do you have anything of value to add to the conversation or are you a mirror of the First_Zep or whatever the heck the name of that thing is that can't post a cohesive thought is. Everything you've said so far could be easily exposed as untrue but I make it a practice to never wrestle with pigs. Welcome to the forum
