  1. The elimination of my last two projects at work, which clears the decks for vacation. This will commence starting tomorrow at "what made you happy hour" B)

Ahhhhh, that's always a great feeling!! Enjoy!!! Going anywhere special or just hangin? In a couple of weeks I'm taking a week off, can't wait!

  2. I really did not go anywhere just working got real busy the last week of the hitch.I still checked in from time to time .Been planning this Seattle/Portland Trip also and that is taking a bit of time researching the places I want to see in the one week I have but it will all come together.

Hey Al! We'll look forward to your report on the show! Knowing you, another pic of you and Robert will pop up! Have fun!

  3. As do memorial and gravestone but I wasn't looking to argue semantics here. Now that we are...look at the gravestone. It isn't a public memorial as such, it marks his grave.

Now my curiosity is piqued! The stone reads:

"Cherished memories of a loving husband and father, John Henry Bonham Who died Sept. 25th 1980. He will always be remembered in our hearts, Goodnight my Love, God Bless."

which to me sounds more like a memorial than a headstone.

Also scattered means thrust about as in the parsish churchyard at Rushock. If the ashes were interred they would 'be placed in a grave' Scattered doesn't mean placed. And a headstone is placed over or near a site of 'burial'

I guess this is open to interpretation but that's the way I've interpreted it....

Pass the tissues again please. My puppy is a constant joyful reminder of the joy Bonzo brought to this earth...and the joy he still spreads all these years later...

  4. FWIW, this is what the article says:

Almost every day fans of Led Zeppelin make the peaceful journey to the pristeen parish churchyard at Rushock where drummer John Bonham's ashes are scattered.

Sorry SAJ, I'm kinda missing your point. What did I miss? I misquoted by forgetting the 'are'?

Didn't mean to do that, it just seems that at least one article supports the scattered and not interred theory.

Hell, all I know is I don't know!

  5. Hmmm, that article does say 'ashes scattered' which would support Miss HD's post.

I think it's just great that the Zep fans are so respectful of the site and the privacy of his family. It is like a pilgrimage to travel there and rest peacefully at his memorial (speaking theoretically since I've never been lucky enough to make that trip)

Thanks again for posting that article...very touching read...

  6. That will probably disappear when positive things start happening to me. If things stay negative then a persons attitude won't change. because there will be nothing to support the positive attitude.

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Spats! You win a gold star!! YES! Get a positive attitude and see how things change for you!!

    Hugs and Peace Dear Spats...

  7. I can't say as his ashes were spread there. But like Mr. Jones has commented the ashes were interred there. Interment usually means burial.

I found an interesting read on this. How accurate it is I cannot say but an interesting read nonetheless. Written before the O2 Arena gig.

    Pass the tissues please....

Great post...it won't be long until that mourning day.

  8. As I understand it, Grant was manager for Reid for only a short period of time before Reid signed up with Mickie Most. I believe that Grant and Page had spotted Reid walking down Oxford Street when they caught up with him and invited him back to the RAK offices for a discussion, when Reid told them he had done a solo deal with Most. I believe Grant is on record as saying Terry's father was also extremely damanding and difficult to deal with. It sounds to me that had Reid been available and signed up with Led Zeppelin, his stay in the band wouldn't have been very long or happy one.

In a RS interview with journalist Steve Rosen, Nicky Hopkins claims to have been asked to join Page's new band but turned it down in favour of Jeff Beck's group, whom Grant was managing at the time:

"As it happened, it was a choice between two bands. And Jimmy Page asked me to join his new band that was just forming and it was going to be called The New Yardbirds. And at the same time, Beck asked me to join. Decision time. They were both managed by Peter Grant and Peter couldn’t sway me one way or the other. He said, “That’s up to you to make a choice, I know.” So I thought, “Well, New Yardbirds…That sounds a bit ....” So I thought, Beck has done his first tour, Page has got a new band that hasn’t been tried out. At least Beck has already done one tour, which was really popular. So I chose Beck."

    Great moments in history!

  9. You're beautiful, Lilith! Great to see you! Lilith, congratulations on your weight loss!

It's all in glitter....one can actually think LZ is a glam band!

And this one is also a favorite:

Great pics! We can see your beautiful eyes without the shades! Sao Paulo eh? How do you like it there? I have a friend there, he absolutely hates it! And your postal service was on strike for about a month? He's a lawyer so that's where the best work for him is but he really wants to move back to Rio...

  10. Medhb, Here is a great place to get Zepp T's and Zepp stuff.

    http://liquidblue.com/index.cfm/fuseaction...d_zeppelin.html

Many thanks DD, much appreciated. I've bookmarked both sites :) The site you sent has a great variety but the site Lilith sent has 'girl' tees...you know, us girls look better in 'girl' cut tees ; ) That's what I'm saying though...why can't all the great designs on the site you sent be on 'girl' tees?!

Thank you both...happy Sunday! Nice Sunday here, in bed, with coffee, catching up (Forbid the thought I missed anything exciting, ahahahahah!)

  11. Okay - time to bite the bullet. Here's a photo of me, wearing my new Zeppelin t shirt - taken about 10 minutes ago.

Ahhh, another hottie! You're beautiful Lilith! LOVE the shirt!! I can never find cool Zep shirts

  12. There is. But unless you're near the Rushock Parish Church, Worcestershire you won't find it.

Ahhh, thanks Dragon! I've seen several different pics of that stone before and always assumed it was his real grave. My fave is one with a big black dog walking by....

  13. thankyou! yes its great to hear positive stuff like that. its a very broad spectrum..........aspergers can manifest in lots of ways..........somedays you would never tell my son from the crowd, but others.........well hes out there! they do tend to get focused on one thing at a time, like your friend with the history books. its been said that einsteen may have had aspergers. my son's dad ( who im sure, and the doc agrees with me ) has aspergers is very much like that. the upside is they get very good at that particular thing. his dad is a brilliant muso. ( im hopeing my son will be also! ). yeah, my son cant handle people touching him either, hes lost friends because of simple stuff like that. but as i always say to myself, theres always someone worse of than yourself. aspergers is much milder than full blown autism, and im thankful for that.

    cheers! :D

Have you read The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time? If not....HIGHLY recommend!! GREAT book!!! Your son is still young, the more experiences he has the more he'll become able to deal with things like being touched and stuff like that.

    Blessings to you Sweetie!
