  1. Hey guys,

I just would like to know, if there is any bootleg known, that features the complete four hour gig.

In Dave Lewis Concert file JPJ is qouted"the key Led Zeppelin gig-the one that put everything into focus"

Would be amazing to haer all the covers that Zep did on this evening...has anyone a "setlist" ?

  2. I think it's really a shame that so many people are mad at billy corgan because he calls the band Smashing Pumpkins again with only two members left. Billy himself said that its not a reunion because they are making new music and he names them pumpkins because it is his band...

And I think the new stuff rocks, just listen to FOL, the new Heavy Metal Machine version or the 30 min epic Gossamer... not many bands dare to do songs of that length and it is sad that they get such a bad feedbach from their fans, especially in Europe: I was at the concert in munich 2007 and the hall was half empty (at least...).. hope thy will nevertheless return and play smaller venues

At last I think you can compare the Pumpkins situation with Led Zeppelin in relation to all these reunion discussions. Isn't it the static view of so called fans that ruins it all, like it has to be like in the 70s (60 year olds please behave like 20 year olds) and please no musical development treating the past like an untouchable holy grail? This is what Robert denied about a reunion....and the Pumpkins suffer from this "holy grail past" too.

  4. I really like th Who, especially Pete is such a great rhythm guitar player and songwriter, also very intelligent from what I heard in interviews. He's really desillusionating all myths of rock :D

...and Tommy is the greatest concept album ever!

What are your favourite Who - Bootlegs?

  5. I think no band should be accused by their fans because of "sellout". Sellout to what? Let's just say the song remains the same B) If you like a song, there's no reason to like it less if its played in a commercial

  6. I have to make a serious contribution, although its not a 5 watt tube amp:

the VOX AC 30 amplug (it's a headphone amp): it really has the sensitivity of a tube amp which means you can regulate from clean to overdrive with the volume poti of your guitar and it only costs 40 €....

  7. Hello guys,

I start this thread to talk about some of the greatest moments of zep onstage. As I am to young to have seen them live I can only refer to bootlegs, but of course the older ones are supposed to share their experiences :D

My favourite so far is the Loui Loui encore of the LA show 6-25-72 (burn like a candle):

It just catches the spirit of the night so well...

Also great, when the audience sang the "remember laughter" part of sth at the 02...

  8. Sure, there are several out there and a nice one can get kind of expensive. The best low wattage amp I ever heard is the 1W Bumbox Lead 1, but those are tough to find and expensive. On the cheap the Epi Valve Junior is a good amp with lot's of after market mods available. Many are crazy about the Blackheart amps and they make both 5W and 1W amps. some of the nicer ones are the Bad Cat, Fargen and I think Dr Z makes a 5W. Some amps have built in power scaling, the Fargen Mini Plex does this so it offers versatility in that you can dial it down or up depending how much power you need. At 15W full power it's loud enough to gig with. Then there are some super nice amps that have switchable power options from Carr and Cornford but you're into the $2K USD money for those, freakin' badass amps though.

Oh yeah don't forget the ZVEX Nano, head over to youtube to see what that sucker can do. I think it's .25W (1/4W) and sounds amazing.

    Thank you too!

Gonna listen to some clips also B)

  9. I take it you're not from the states? They just came out, so be on the lookout for them. All the big retailers over here just got them in.

Picked up the amp yesterday. After a pretty extensive run through, I have to say this has gotta be the most bodacious amp I have come across. Played it on 1w through a 1x12 with a drummer and it was beefy enough to outrock a Marshall AVT halfstack with a greenback loaded 4x12 cab. Of course, I had to take over that cab and see how awesome it could really be, and I gotta say, though I didn't a/b them, the little Egnater held its own with my Marshall JVM combo.

For the price($600US) there isn't an amp that comes close. It's got variable wattage(1-20w), 2 sets of power tubes(el84,6v6) that can be blended in pretty well any proportion. It does everything from Fender-y clean to the lower levels of high gain(think Tool) and it cleans up beautifully when the gain is dimed. Very responsive to the player.

I dunno what it would cost in other countries, but if you are interested in a low wattage amp or a lot more look hard for the Egnater Rebel.

    Thank you very much!

Gonna listen to some youtube clips
