  1. imdb is great; I look things up from time to time (for free!) I like the movie quote feature; one of these days I may actually put a quote in my sig here

    First Kiss

    It was at the beach
  3. The spritzer sounds good! How do you do the anon thing? I'm thinking that my pinkie hurts; I was picking raspberries and blackberries this afternoon and there were thorns. And I now have Keith Urban songs stuck in my head after posting in the lamest iPod song thread
  4. Probably it's "Tonight I'm Gonna Cry" by Keith Urban
  5. Thanks! It's been pretty hot here too; hot and humid.
  6. Congratulations!!! You wrote a wonderful memoir of the day too!
  7. Running this morning. I'm training for my first race this fall, and generally trying to get back on, and maintain, a regular workout schedule. Not easy to do with working F/T and driving the kids to their activities every evening.
  8. I'm reading 2; "The Best of Friends: Two Women, Two Continents, and One Enduring Friendship" by Sara James and Ginger Mauney (I'm really enjoying this!); and "Likely to Die" by Linda Fairstein.
  9. Aw, my younger daughter talks in her sleep too

    Pet Peeves

There's some mad editor patron at our library who makes corrections and edits in pencil in the mystery books Drives me crazy!
  11. Here's a side dish: Grilled veggies 1/2 ea green and red (or yellow or orange) pepper, cut in 1/2" chunks 1/2 Vidalia onion in slices 1 small yellow squash, sliced 2 small zucchini, sliced in half moons (optional: add similar amount of eggplant cut in same size pieces) Sprinkle with salt and pepper and toss with a few turns of olive oil. Rosemary flavored is great or you can use plain and toss on some fresh rosemary instead. Cook in a grill pan on the grill stirring often, or in a disposable aluminum pan with holes poked in it, until the veggies are the way you like them. You can use whatever proportions of whatever veggies you like and season to taste; there's really not much of a recipe actually.
  12. I heard from an old friend that I'd lost touch with
  13. Those are gorgeous pictures, and it sounds like a wonderful, relaxing family vacation!
  14. Also, "Amie" by Pure Prairie League. Check out the HTWWW version of Bron Yr Aur Stomp and Amie and see what you think ... Bron Yr Aur Stomp (HTWWW): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lo03Tji7zaE Amie (Live):
  15. I don't have one. I was born in the South, but my parents are from up North. I've heard you need to be 3rd generation (or more) to be a true southerner (or maybe it's true Virginian?)
  16. "Life has taught us that love does not consist in gazing at each other, but in looking outward together in the same direction." and "A goal without a plan is just a wish." Both by Antoine de Saint-Exupery
  17. I just brought home my old bike from my parents' house. It's a Fuji Sports 10; I saved up my money forever to pay half (mom and dad matched it) when I was 10 or 11; it's a really nice recreational bike. It still fits perfectly. I'm going to get new tires and whatever else and fix it up I will try to add a picture later; I can't find the camera cable right now.
  18. Bill Bryson is great! "A Walk in the Woods" is my favorite book of his. Have you read Peter Mayle's series about Provence ("A Year in Provence", "Toujours Provence", "Encore Provence")? He's got a wonderfully witty style too. (I love travel memoirs, esp. set in France and Italy)
  19. Some people around here call everything "Co-Cola" or Coke; regardless as to whether it's Coke, Pepsi, Sprite, Dr. Pepper, whatever. I've also heard other people call everything Pepsi. My midwestern cousins call it pop; but you never hear that around here.
  20. I have Coco Chanel too; although lately I've been using Clinique Happy. I looove Chico's clothes. I have quite a few pieces; they mix and match well; last well and fit well. My other favorite place to shop is Steinmart I have several Vera bags that I love; and although I only have a couple of things because they are expensive, I love Lilly Pulitzer. The girls have a couple of her things too.
  21. Heh heh, well, we may need to wait a couple of years for that; I can't see our 7 year old yelling out "NOT BITCH!!!", especially in front of the other carpool moms or grandmothers!
  22. I'm working my way through Linda Fairstein's and David Baldacci's books right now. I like mysteries (detective, and the cozy southern ones) and spy novels (Tom Clancy, and also I love Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp series). Dan Brown is another favorite; and I really enjoyed Harry Potter too
  23. Maybe something made them reconsider?
