  1. Don't tell me about respect. You're the one always swearing at people in your posts. Plus, your avatar appears to be directly towards everybody on this board. Plus, I've noticed you always have to get the last word in with the numerous fights you get into here. BTW, I cut and pasted an article about the death of a singer. I'm not on here constantly cutting and pasting articles that I can just as easily read on www.allmusic.com.
  2. You DO have your rules. Now you're applying hierarchical restrictions on how people can act here.
  3. Possibly doesn't count. Tickets must be in hand.
  4. Right, but you don't have to bust people's balls the second they don't follow it. This guy was looking for entry level Deep Purple music. The other topic was more of a general topic for existing fans. There is also one particular person who continually cuts and pastes articles(spam) very few of us care about. That is just as bad. And needing to know the next concert, last concert, currently listening, next listening of everybody is just a mere attempt to create topics that never stop and is the sign of an egomaniac.
  5. You're just a ball buster. Get a life. Or better yet, get a job as a policeman. Now go complain to the mods.
  6. Thanks for the Eddie link. That was interesting. Are you ready Eddie?
  7. The search feature blows. First of all the search criteria requires that the word be at least 4 bytes long. So searching for 'ELP' doesn't work. Secondly, the search results bring back entire topics, so the user is forced to page through the entire topic for their search results. And quite often multiple topics are returned. Sorry I don't have 5 hours to page through all the results.
  8. Are we that rigid and anal that we can't double up on some topics? It's not like we are at work and need to be hyper efficient. He had a specific question regarding entry level Deep Purple music. Give the guy a break.
  9. I own a 2 CD version of Machine Head. CD 1 are all the original songs remastered with a bonus track. CD 2 are remixes of all the songs with alternate lead guitar along with the bonus track. Also included is a cool little booklet. Great band. I saw them in 73ish at the Felt Forum in NYC with Rory Gallagher opening.
  10. The company I work for is located on a campus like setting. There are plenty of geese on the premises. As I was leaving today, about three geese were attempting to cross the road and appeared nervous. I came to a complete stop and let them go. Hurray for me!!
  11. Remember in the mid-70s on Saturday night, you KNEW you would be watching Saturday Night Live at 11:30 p.m. EST? Eddie was on to sing "Two Tickets to Paradise" and I was all excited and telling everybody about the song. Nobody else in the room had really heard about him yet and they were more interesting in taking a toke.
  12. I'm sorry, but there is a reason why Plant and Page both choose to record with Barriemore Barlow.
  13. I'm a big Who fan. By Numbers is a fav and shows Pete at his most introspective. Another great one is Odds and Sods, particularly the remasted one with bonus tracks. And EVERYBODY should own Rough Mix, the LP Pete recorded with Ronnie Lane.
  14. After the concert, don't forget to list it in the Last Concert You Attended thread. Everything needs to be documented. Also, scan your ticket stub and post it so we know you are not lying. Thanks.
  15. I'm getting there. Photo could be a bit larger. This is me around 1975/76.
  16. I went for a walk this morning around the neighborhood lake and spotted a bald eagle. Spectacular.
  17. Maybe I got carried away with my adjectives, but I just don't think they were as interesting musically as a lot of other bands. I own a lot of Doors LP's, just don't listen to them anymore. One regret is selling the two LP's, released by The Doors after Morrison died, that I owned. I'm sorry for being rude.
  18. 1. You are taking the shit stirring thing a little too far. It's not funny and you didn't even come up with it. Try to be more original. 2. Quit trying to form allegiances with people. It makes you look like a weenie. 3. I used to listen to the Harvest record quite a bit. About four years ago I gave it a listen. It sounded so pathetic and depressing, I just put it away for good.
  19. Oh and you're NOT? It's just my opinion. I'm sorry if I just criticized your heroes. It's just a dumb music forum, get over it. Go ahead criticize the bands I like, I could care less.
  20. I'm sure some of you will hate my guts for saying this....but, I just never liked her. It's okay driving in the car listening to one of her hits. That's about it. Am I going to sit at home alone analysing the meaning of her music/lyrics. Probably not. There is a whole group of artists from the sixties I find repulsive, Joplin, Hendrix, Jefferson Airplane, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. There, I just made some more friends. All these hippie, dippie, American, drug taking, getting arrested acts. Maybe it's because, my main thing during my formative years was British rock. Then around 75/76 I got into punk and I really hated them all.
  21. I found a picture of myself from 1975 at the age of 19 or so. Typical 70's look, avaitor glasses, longish hair parted down the middle. I am smiling and look really happy. I brought the photo to work and have it at my desk. I enjoy looking at it.
  22. I've noticed The Stones take their fair share of abuse on this and other music boards. Friday night on VH1, I watched them perform a version of Satisfaction from what must have been 1966ish. It was very early stuff. I'm not sure ANYBODY could have criticized that performance. It was awesome. I never realized how odd looking Brian Jones was.
  23. I've had my days where listening to the Dead seemed like the right thing to do. My sister donated to my LP collection Workingmans Dead, American Beauty and Mars Hotel. I enjoy them all. I've never bought any Dead material with my own funds although I've been contemplating a Best of CD. I'm not adverse to buying a Best of CD of certain artists.
