  1. I know, I'm in the NYC area and today I walked out of my air conditioned house to get the mail and my glasses immediately fogged up...the last time I had that happen was in New Orleans. blink.gif

laugh.gif We have a saying down here, "When you walk outside at 7:00am and you break into a sweat you know you're in the Big Easy"biggrin.gif

  2. Though I prefer jewel cases, I can deal with digipaks if they're constructed rigidly enough and have an inlay tray for the CDs. My problem here isn't with the packaging itself but with how easily CDs are scratched when they're stored within cardboard sleeves.

Upload the music to your puter or burn a copy and store the original.cool.gif

  3. They're coming out with Windows 7, and who knows how much RAM that's going to take up?

I'm running the Windows 7 RC and it blows Vista away and I've got 2GB of Ram ;)

I will get the full version when it comes out in October.

I would get a Mac as well if I were to get into some video editing or some type of publishing though. :)

  4. I hate to tell you, it's much more than the a/c. My interior is black, and believe it or not HM, though it's hotter where you are, in order to get to point A to point B in summer heat without being a sweaty mess, I need it. I haven't used it this summer when I don't need it because I know it's not working well.

The a/c works, but it squeals. The car squeals every time it starts up.

The gas mileage is compromised now too, becuase the compressor clutch keeps trying to engage--even when it's NOT on. I have a major repetitive power draw from the a/c, similar to that you feel in cars that aren't running well and the a/c is on. It didn't do that before--even last summer. Now it's lost power, etc.

Yeah...calling around for middle of the road tires is the goal of today. <_<

Charles, other than those things, the car runs very well. My mechanic said if I ever wanted to sell it, he'd buy it.

I've thought about buying a new car, but since I haven't had full-time employment for over a year because of school, etc., I can't do it. I need to fix it and keep driving it--plus, no one would loan me money without having a steady income. ;)

I know how you feel, you're still young and your career is just starting.

Luckily my career is in the automotive field so only need pay for parts.

I haven't had a check since June 26th but my donated leave should be coming in

this next pay period thank god.

Thank god I have a decent health insurance policy or I might be losing my house

    right now.

It's also good that I started with a lot of sick and annual leave I've been off work

    since March 13th.

You coudl've saved a good chunk of change by getting a pc instead of that Mac.

Walmart advertised a Toshiba 17" with 3GB of memory and 250GB hard drive for $348.00

That savings would have paid for a brake job and a new axle shaft for your car, no body replaces boots any more, cheaper just to by a new half shaft.

    Edited for this link http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?...uct_id=12170483

  5. 1. new brakes (just the pads, but both sets)

    2. new tires (they're shot--these have top priority)

    3. new cv boots or joints, whichever my car has

    4. a/c compressor clutch

    5. new window gaskets

...and a few other things that I can't remember off the top of my head.

It's been a good car, it's just in need of some (pricey) maintenance.

Sounds like a cash for clunkers candidate, sorry :(

  6. That's awesome!

I'm jealous because my car is in need of some major work that I don't have the cash for. ;)

What kind of repairs are you in need of?

I've heard of proffesionals trading skills, say you tudor the mechanics kid(s) in lieu of car repairs. ;)

  7. ...and the principal just called to ask me for more information to contact my references!

He said that they're not at school yet, so he needed personal emails, etc.

Best of luck to you young lady, I always admired teachers ;)

  8. Made me a little happy today just to get out, I wanted to get on the Disney Train to preview the new Christmas Carol Movie but the line had an hour wait and the humidity was just too much for me to take.

Anyhow I was able to get a few photos of the train and some displays.

Being a big Disney and a Charles Dickens fan I was hoping to get aboard because they also had some Dickens artifacts and such aboard.

Here's the link for the train tour schedule, I believe it will be in Houston next and if it comes to your city I would encourage you to get there early the lines were huge!

    The movie premiers in London.

  9. Sorry to hear this terrible news, Charlie. So sad when a parent brainwashs their child against the other. I hope you won't let her get away with this. Once you get finished with your treatments you will be ready to fight. In the meantime, i hope you keep up your strong, positive attitude. One day your son will see what she has done.

Thank you all for the kind thoughts. :)

We will be in court on the 20th and I'm going to ask for Saturdays every other weekend until I'm finished with my treatments.

I'm not going to pressure my son so I figure just a day together every other week won't be to much for him.
